A peat-filled hollow, part of which is underneath a huge, twisted pine with tangled roots making up a roof of sorts. The ground is sandy soft, though it gets muddy when it rains.

Umberlight lead Darkpaw into the hollow, careful not to loose balance and fall into the loose soil.

"Alrighty." Umberlight mewed, "We should probably warm up first so we don't pull anything." He stretched his forelegs out, flexing his claws.

"Uh....okay then." Umberlight mewed, finishing his stretches. "I'm going to try to teach you in a way that's more fun than what most mentors do. Er, more fun than mine anyways." he rambled, shifting so he was blocking the entrance. "You have to try to get out of the hollow without being pinned by me."

" ok!" darkpaw purred then crouched down staring straight at umberlight. if I run straight at umberlight, then curve to the side at the last second it could confuse him.. he thought with a smile then ran at umberlight, curving at the last second to the right, trying to get around him.

Umberlight purred at the young cat's predictability and stretched his paws out to the side, knocking Darkpaw over with his momentum.

Darkpaw glared at his mentor. He smiled thinking I'll dive under him, I'm small enough he then ran at umberlight rolling under him when he got close enough.

darkpaw wiggled underneath him I cant see anything its all dark!! let me up let me up!! he thought as he panicked. darkpaw batted at umberlight's belly and accidently slide out his claws, with his claws unsheathed, he kicked umberlight with his back paws.

Ouch! "Hey, watch the claws." Umberlight hissed, feeling stinging on his big belly, "We're supposed to be training, not pointlessly scratching." he added jokingly.

" ok." darkpaw meowed as he saw umberlight get ready. darkpaw ran at him thinking please don't let this hurt.. he slammed into umberlight trying to make him fall so he could get past.

Umberlight let out a huff of air but stood his ground. "Keep in mind I'm a lot heavier and stronger than you are." he mewed, turning back to face Darkpaw.

" oh.. right." darkpaw mumbled then back up again.He looked at umberlight in wander. what can I do? he is bigger then me... oh! I could ran at him, jump on his back then jump of really quick. darkpaw ran at umberlight and soared over his head, he landed on umberlights back and almost lost his balance.

darkpaw smiled, he knew he had gotten umberlight off guard darkpaw clumsily jumped off umberlight and raced to the edge of the hollow. " I win!!" he yowled.

"Right, so, what we're going to do is train with techniques, then put them into action." Rosetiger informed her apprentice. "And stop bouncing around like a kit." She scolded.

"Well, stop scolding me like your my mother." she shot back quickly, then unexpectedly leaped at her mentor, bowling her over and pinning her down.
"Pretty good, huh, mom?" she chuckled and launched herself off Rosetiger, tumbling back into the sand.

Pebblepaw widened her eyes in surprise. Her mentor, Rosetiger, praising her? She nodded and grinned, looking for unexpected times to leap at her again.

"Okay, watch me." Rosetiger instructed. She leaped backwards, off the tree, and landed on a log that she was pretending was an enemy cat. "Leap backwards, hit off the tree and land on top of the log, pretending it's an enemy cat." She instructed, licking her chest quickly.

Easy-peaty. Pebblepaw scoffed under her breath and sprinted at the tree, lifting her legs and kicking the tree trunk, but failing to land on the log. She landed face-first into some soft mud and muttered curses as she regained her confidence to try again.

"I did!" Pebblepaw shot back with an angry glint in her eyes as she backed up, watching her paws.
She raced at the trunk and leapt up swiftly, hitting off of it and landed clumsily on the log, then sinking her claws into the bark and sighing with relief.
"Yes!" she mewed, whiskers twitching.

Pebblepaw growled and twisted her paws together, racing towards the log and swiftly leaping on top, almost just slipping off.
"How's that?" she snorted rudely, tossing her head back to look at Rosetiger.

"I just landed on my opponent and dug my claws into it's flesh!" she whined, raking her claws across the log.

"Well, we obviously aren't going to get much done before the training games so let's start." Rosetiger mewed. She pushed another log out, and pushed the 3rd log next to it, rubbing her head with a paw. "Okay, first we're seeing who can knock the other of the other log first."

She's bad at explaining things. I'm an apprentice! How can I roll a log over completely? she thought, muttering inaudible curses under her breath.
