Thornsplash opened her jaws, letting the scents of the forest fill her. She perked her ears at the smell of a fox, although it was a day or two old. She turned to Rainpaw, wanting to test the she-cat's skills. "What do you smell?" She meowed, sniffing the air herself shortly afterwards.

Panthermist jumped at a bush that moved, thinking it was a mouse. Raven growled and shoved herself into Panthermist, digging deep into the young cat’s throat. “Nightfall-“ she started but choked off, shuddering before going limp. Raven smiled deviously, glancing at her bloodstained claws.

Nightfall's ear perked at the scent of blood and immediately her heart went into overdrive as she leaped down and raced to Panthermist. Upon seeing her, she let out an anguished cry and nearly collapsed only to whirl on Raven. Without a second thought, she leaped at the rogue.

Nightfall snarled at the shecat when her claws scraped above her eye. Blinking away blood, she disregarded all her training and unsheathed her claws, leaping onto the back of Raven and biting into her scruff. Her claws dug into Raven's side before raking down them, hindclaws digging firmly into the flank of the bigger cat.

Raven yowled, trying to swing the young warrior, pain slicing at her pelt. It was hard for Raven to move anywhere with the She-cat on her back, so backing into something was out of question.

Nightfall tipped herself back and let go so they both crashed to the ground, with her rising first. She snarled and launched herself at the rogue, biting mercilessly into her throat while bloodstained claws tore through her belly.

Raven let out a yowl, a mixture of pain and rage. She thrashed a bit, shuddered, then went limp, her last breath escaping like a cold breeze.

Nightfall clamped her jaws down tighter, until she physically felt the life leave Raven, and then she stumbled back into a pile of red stained snow, blue eyes wide in horror. As she turned to face Panthermist's body, her anguish returned and she broke down into sobs, burying her muzzle into the cold fur of what might've one day been her mate. Even as she cried, it didn't last long, because soon enough she was grabbing Panthermist's scruff and lifting her body to sling it over her own back. Without bothering to drag away Raven, Nightfall padded back towards camp, each step heavier than the last.
