The Mooncave

ooc: you're fine, Daisy. Oceanbreeze was already here, though lol

ic: Featherwhisker huffed a little. "It's a serious thing, Morningshine. But our time with you is now over." He glanced at Coldfoot, almost as if he was expecting something from the tom.


Falconswoop nodded. "I agree, Seabreeze. We could make this work, but it will take a lot on all of our parts." He flicked his ear. "We should talk when we go back to the Mooncave."

ooc: Italicised.

ic: Falconswoop huffed, and blinked his eyes open in surprise as a loud, thunderous boom echoed through the Mooncave. Water dripped in from the ceiling, pattering on the sandy floor and on to the pelts of the other medicine cats.

Carnelianpaw woke with a start at the sound of thunder, lifting her head and getting to her paws. She shook out her pelt and flattened her ears.

Featherwhisker touched Coldfoot's shoulder with his tail, Tulippaw's eyes widening as the tom turned to her. "The heart of the Clan will crack and break, but both good and bad come out of darkness." 
Tulippaw woke with a start, scrambling to her paws with her heart racing.

Carnelianpaw looked to Tulippaw and tilted her head. "What happened? The thunder woke me up," she mewed.

OOC: Whoops, sorry about that again, I wasn't on my computer when I posted that so I was unable to add the italics. (Edited.)

IC: Graytail rose to his paws, flicking his tail as rain dripped on their pelts. He quickly padded over to where it was more sheltered from the rain that dripped through the hole in the cave.

Twistedleg limped away from the opening, that let in a lot of rain. "We should probably go now, before we all drown ourselves," He meowed with a grunt as he heaved his leg up a rock, that lead towards the exit.

Mistleleaf grunted as she opened her eyes. I’m glad the next time I’ll deal with those lot is when I’m dead.


Tulippaw’s eyes were as wide as sunflowers. “Featherwhisker...” she looked at Carnelianpaw. “I’ll tell you at camp.”

Hollyshade woke with a start, the rain already slicking down her pretty calico coat. She ducked behind a larger rock, flattening her ears. Morningshine... I have to tell Creampaw. she thought, eyes watering as she remembered the wise old medicine cat.
Peachcloud jolted awake, fur fluffed out in utter fear as lightning cracked the sky open, revealing a bright horizon before it quickly covered up by clouds once again. She sat beside Graytail in a sheltered area, shivering.

Longpaw rolled his eyes at Twistedleg. "It's rain, we're not going to drown, fish-brain." he muttered under his breath, flicking his tail and bounding over to Ivyfeather, slightly worried as thunder carried across the sky.

OOC: You mean Carnelianpaw? lol

Carnelianpaw padded over to Hollyshade, looking up at her mentor with scared blue eyes. Our clan..

Ivyfeather rose to her paws and grumbled at the rain. "Great..." She muttered, not looking forward to the journey home.

Twistedleg mumbled something under his breath, annoyed by the confident apprentice. "I was being sarcastic," He muttered out loud, his whiskers twitching.

Graytail flicked his tail. "Should we stay here until the rain calms down? I don't want to catch a sickness, or anything of the sort," He meowed out loud. Especially when my clan is in great need of medicine cats at the moment. He added in, not wanting to share his clan's weaknesses out loud.

Falconswoop shook his head. “I have a feeling we need to get back,” he mewed, shivering. “A storm is never a good omen. There’s a reason we don’t have full moon Gatherings when there are clouds.” 

Tulippaw nodded. “DuskClan needs to get back to camp,” she almost ordered the other medicine cats with her. “We have ill cats we need to take care of.”

Graytail dipped his head. "I understand if you're anxious to get back to your clanmates," He meowed, partially uncertain, "I guess we'll go then." The gray tom turned to meet Ivyfeather's, Falconswoop's, and Longpaw's eyes, and nodded.

OOC: lol he hates getting wet because he has thick, long fur

Ivyfeather padded to Graytail and pressed against his fur. "Ugh. I hate getting wet." She said.

Falconswoop snorted. "We live in the territory that gets the most snow out of all of them," he pointed out light-heartedly, tail flicking.

Tulippaw glanced at Carnelianpaw, then padded over to Coldfoot. "Hey," she whispered, nudging him.

"Why haven't I woken up?" Coldfoot barked at Featherwhisker, tail lashing.


Coldfoot's body limply rolled to the side.

Soraflight trotted to the entrance of the cave, closing her eyes as a breath of cold wind foretelling leafbare blew through the plains.

Hazelflight sighed. "See you all next gathering." she mewed, leading the BrightClan medicine cats out.

Carnelianpaw looked to Coldfoot and her blue eyes widened in horror, sprinting over.

Featherwhisker dipped his head. "You know why, Coldfoot. You still have a slight link because of the moon, however, if you wish to say a true goodbye." 


Tulippaw's eyes began to water. "Coldfoot? Coldfoot!" She began to sob hysterically, rolling the medicine cat over and pushing on his chest as he'd taught her for a drowned cat.

Seabreeze was following Hazelflight out, when she heard the crying and screaming of Coldfoots name. What... She turned around, staring at Coldfoot. " Hazelflight wait!" She called, bounding over to the medicine cat.

Carnelianpaw flattened her ears and looked around for anything to help. "Tulippaw, what do I do?" She mewed frantically, pacing.

Tulippaw didn't reply, eyes wide and breathing panicked as she attempted to revive the medicine cat.

Ivyfeather was heading back when she heard their cries. "Oh SoulClan no!" She cried and went over.

Hollyshade, as she carefully stepped over the rocks to exit the Mooncave, saw Coldfoot's body fall to the side. She gasped, rushing towards him. "Dear SoulClan," she pressed her nose to his chest, unsatisfied at the still heartbeat. "No... we're losing everyone." she sobbed, collapsing onto the ground next to Coldfoot's limp body and staring into the starry night sky. Why do you do this to us? she thought, watching the soft twinkle of each bright star.

Longpaw huffed, flattening his ears at Twistedleg's remark. He turned, seeing Hollyshade and Tulippaw desperately trying to revive Coldfoot's limp body. He yelped, pressing his flank against Falconswoop's. "Oh no..." he murmured, tail twitching.
Peachcloud sat beside the two FrostClan apprentices, dipping her head to Coldfoot's body. At this point death didn't even bother her. She simply prayed for Coldfoot's well being in SoulClan and looked away. She couldn't bare it anymore, after her parents, and Antpaw, and Wormpaw, and all her patients she couldn't save.

Falconswoop tucked his tail around his fellow medicine cat apprentice, looking down sadly.

Tulippaw lay down beside Hollyshade, eyes tight shut. "He can't be gone," she whispered.

Hazelflight turned back to the Mooncave, her heart mournful but unable to act.

Soraflight flattened her ears in grief. "I wish your Clan luck, Hollyshade." she mewed softly brushing against her fellow medicine cat in an attempt to comfort her.

Tulippaw stayed beside Coldfoot's body for a few moments before getting up again. "We...we need to go back to camp," she mewed, her voice wavering only slightly. "Cats are dying and we know how to save them."

Mistleleaf nodded slowly. "Us WaterClan cats can help you take Coldfoot's body?" she suggested, glancing at Peachpaw and Twistedleg.

ooc: bump please. Medicine cats kind of need to get back to their camps.

Soraflight nodded her head to the FrostClan and FireClan cats. "We should be getting home now."

"BrightClan, we should leave." Hazelflight mewed.

Mistpool nodded. "I hope no ones gotten hurt while we were here."

Hollyshade sighed, nodding to Mistleleaf. "Thank you." she rasped, not knowing what else to say. Her throat choked with emotion as she tried to pick up Coldfoot's body by the scruff.
Peachcloud dipped her head, padding beside Mistleleaf. "Here, let me help you there." she mewed, giving wobbly support with her shoulders to the body.

"Goodbye. May SoulClan light your path." Longpaw frowned, pressing his nose softly to Coldfoot's flank before bounding out behind Ivyfeather.

Tulippaw padded to Coldfoot's head, letting it rest across her shoulders and carrying him out.
Mistleleaf took one of his hind legs solemnly.

Falconswoop dipped his head to the old medicine cat before following his Clanmates and FireClan out.
Owlpaw did the same.
