The Mirror Ponds

The Mirror Ponds are a collection of small, deep ponds found in the middle of the jungle, not too far from the Clearing. They are found at a lower level to the rest of the forest; in order to reach them, cats have to climb down a small ledge without falling. When it rains the whole area floods, and the ponds become one large pond that could drag a cat down with its current in seconds. A small waterfall on the far edge links it to a stream, and a wide variety of prey lurks around the source of fresh water.

Bell padded across the wet soil, flicking his tail to make sure Cinder was following him. "Spread out so we find more prey," he instructed. "Meet back here a little before sundown, as Oynx said."

Cinder nodded, frowning at the bossy tone of the tom and padded off into the thick fog of the forest. He opened his jaws wide and scented a couple of shrews farther off, quickly tracking it quietly.
