Clan Information
Season & Weather
Greenleaf second moon (Summer, July)
After the rainy season of newleaf, the weather has turned eerily calm, with only the occasional cloud passing over the otherwise clear sky. The land is in full fruition: Plants a healthy green, herbs common as grasses, and prey constantly underfoot. The river has begun to return to its normal size, leaving a few uncommon remnants in the once flooded land.
The battle has ended and medicine cats from every Clan are frantically trying to tend to the injured. A group of rogues, lead by a cat who calls herself Onyx, has driven FireClan out of their camp and is gaining more support from other rogues by the hour.

Call of the Sea

Post by Ravenheart on Wed Feb 15, 2017 11:44 pm

The year is 1653, and you have plenty to learn. The Sea is all these days and you need to know how to use it. Whether you sail on it for months on end or only hours doesn't matter you need a mode of transportation and the most common answer to that is a ship. Your ship could range from a fishing boat to a Frigate and the Sea would fight you. Thats what makes makes us all alike, We are all fighters those who cower on land aren't ready for this time. So find who you will join will you join us free men of the sea? Or join those still waiting for something to save them?

The Anti-Terror Coalition has been very interested in the movements of Pirates especially those around the Caribbean and Asia.  They have been noticing a few strange interactions between the two especially near the southern most point of Africa. These interactions would often include stopping and boarding each other peacefully with little to none conflict other than a few arguments. They are transporting boxes and people but to where is unknown, The first Idea is to the new land, but the next Idea is somewhere in the Mediterranean.  However what the Pirates actually are doing is transporting these slaves and supplies to Florida and the Caribbean Islands build Pirate colonies. Later these colonies will start growing and become openly known and multiple people begin to join the Free men and Women in the West.

As these colonies gain power through the Atlantic the Anti-Terror Coalition needs to take action and decide that they should begin hiring privateers to work as a sort of infiltration group. Those who join will get a fair split of the loot, and are offered a nice life back in their home country. Traders in or out of the Highborn Bond are suggested to avoid these privateers, as they are less obedient than the military, and to not offer them help if they are in trouble. Those on the coast are beginning to suffer from lack of goods, which caused the prices to increase forcing many to become either thieves or pirates. This increases the pirates numbers who are beginning plans to make their own nation, Libertalia where all who stay do as they please and live as they like.

Factions:

The Highborn Bond: The Highborn bond is a guild of traders who trade specifically for the aristocracy of Europe. These traders occasionally work for other employers but not unless they had extreme gain involved. This could include a long steam of jobs, another possible employer, or just lots of money.

The Anti-Terror Coalition: The Anti-Terror Coalition is the agreement that England and France will support troops specifically to patrol the Atlantic Ocean. These troops are often just people who join the military, they don't tend to know they will be facing armed pirates or even armed men. Often times they die just from the sailing and lack of experience, but when they do enter combat they tend to win before they even get within stabbing range.

Pirates: The Freemen of the sea. These are those who seek to find the freedom in the sea. This freedom is gained by leaving their countries and doing as they please. That is all on Pirates.
                            [Character Roles]

Character Roles: Ship Captain: If you are a Captain on a Pirate ship you were likely voted into the position by your crew and are quite respected. However if on a Military ship or part of the Anti-Terror Coalition your Captain is chosen for you. The Captain of your ship is the one who holds ultimate power when in combat and tends to not do much outside of it unless speaking with the Quarter-Master or the Boatswain.

Quarter-Master: The Quarter-Master was in charge of the Chores and who was doing what. He was in charge of telling the other Crew-mates what to do when to do it and how its done.

Sailing-Master: This was the main navigator and master of planning. He would meet with the Captain and Quarter-Master to explain the length of the trips and the most efficient routes and speed that should be used to get there.

Boatswain: The Boatswain was in charge of checking the resources and shape of the ship. They would check the ships sails and stores daily then report back to the Captain and Quarter-Master the Sailing-Master often time is also at these meetings so as to know how many resources they have and therefor report to the Captain and Quarter-Master how they would have to ration themselves for the next port.

Carpenter, Surgeon, and Cook: These are members of the crew who perform their trades for the crew.

Master Gunner: The Master Gunner was in charge of the guns and ammunition, they were supposed to check the powder along with everything else in the ships magazine. They would report the amount of Powder and Shots to the Captain, Quarter-Master, and the Boatswain.

Mate: These were the Apprentices of the Captian, Quarter-Master, Sailing Master, Boatswain, Carpenter, Surgeon, and Master Gunner.

A.B.S (Able Bodied Sailor): The backbone of the ship and the basic sailors of the ship. This is pretty self explanatory.

Rigger: These were the men who were in charge of furling and releasing the sails, they also were in charge of most of the up high jobs. they also tend to work as the helmsman, who steer the ship.

Cabin Boy: A young boy used as a servant on pirate ships. These were often stowaways or kidnapped.

Powder Monkey: These were young boys that would run gunpowder between the magazine and the canons in combat. When not in combat they would work as Swabbies.

Swabbies/Swabs: This was a term used for those who would "swab" the decks of the ship but later grew into a term used for someone you have little respect for.

                            [Character Skills]

Fighting, hunting, climbing, running, swimming, strength, stamina, and memory skills.

Also just a note if you want to make a ship you have to audition the ship as well as the character on it. If no one to many ships are made than we may have to cut a few out.

Its just an RP set in the 17th century. No real specific plan other than to live and not die.

If that's the case, it sounds like you may want to make it an 'open RP' instead.
