Avalanche panted fearfully before passing out into Lily's lap. Now Lily could start working on her wounded tail.

Lily stroked Avalanche's head and started working on her tail. She then wrapped it and looked at it before pulling out a book and started sketching ideas.

Avalanche woke up a little later and looked at her wrapped up tail.

Ruddy approached slowly and frowned. Now wasn't the time to tell her this was it?

Lily showed Avalanche the book. It had some ideas for the tail in it. "What do you think?"

Ruddy cleared his throat to get Lily's attention.

Ruddy lowered his head a bit. "I think I'm going to leave, see where my wings can take me." he said in all honesty.

Avalanche growled towards him.

Lily smiled at the Timberjack. It seems like only yesterday that he was the tiny orphan. "I understand, Ruddy. Just come back one day, Ok?"

Ruddy lowered his head even more at that. "I-I'm not coming back." he told her sadly. "I'll miss you, all of you." he said and curled his snake-like body around her as a form of a hug.

Avalanche slowly stood up and looked more at her wrapped tail.

Lily stood and threw her arms around Ruddy's neck. "Just be safe.." She said, fighting back tears. "And remember that we are here for you.." She said. She couldn't fight the tears so they started going down her face.

Ruddy licked them away the best he could before he flapped his larger wings and flew off towards the rising sun.

Avalanche watched him leave and jealousy flickered in her eyes as she couldn't fly anymore and yet he could.

Lily lied on a tree. "I will make you fly again girl.." She muttered, drawing another design.

Avalanche lowered her ears a bit and then laid down at the base of the tree.

Ruddy hadn't been gone a whole hour before returning and crash-landing since he was exhausted. He panted and looked around. "Lily!" he called to her, pupils dilated.

Ruddy looked at her with wide eyes. "I-I-I saw.....an Alpha!" he said with extreme fear in his voice.

Avalanche's eyes widened a bit. She hadn't met an Alpha yet and she wasn't sure if she wanted to.

Melody was a little bit away playing with Eclipse, the Stormcutter.

Melody walked/crawled over to Lyra's side with Eclipse harmlessly nipping at her tail because he was playing with her.

Ruddy gulped. "I don't know........but the one I saw was huge......lived in a icy fortress." he said worriedly.

Lyra glanced over to where Melody had shown up from. "Hi girl," she smiled. "Also, are 'Alphas' just big dragons then?"

Melody blinked. "I heard about Alphas, aren't they supposedly rulers of all dragons and so can control them?" she huffed a bit and then looked towards Ruddy. "S-so you saw a huge dragon.........that lived in an icy fortress...........sounds like a Bewilderbeast." she said to both Ruddy and Lyra. "I feel like I wanna go meet it." she added in.

Ruddy gulped and curled up where he was.

Melody growled a bit at her rider and then looked gentle again. "So......Ruddy, which direction is this dragon?" Melody asked him.

Ruddy was too scared to answer so he pointed with his wing towards the west.

Avalanche's ears lowered sadly. "I'll never fly again, you know this." she huffed back sadly. She looked at her missing tail flaps and grumbled a little.

Eclipse came up to Storm's house and roared for him.

Eclipse grabbed a hold of Storm by the shirt with his mouth and pulled him up into the air.

Avalanche's blue eyes widened and she pointed with her tail towards Eclipse and Storm.

Storm sighed and fell limp, sneezing his eyes shut.

Eclipse then became confused as Storm fell limp. He set him on the ground and nudged him. He looked towards Lily worriedly and then kept nudging Storm worriedly. Circling him and wondering what was wrong.

Avalanche came over.

Eclipse moved him a little onto his side and he could feel the grass under his hand this time. He grunted a little and made a chirp-like noise.
