Willowheart padded out, tears streaming down her face as she saw her parents. Patchflame crept closer to Nightfall, his eyes wide with horror.

Ivykit peeked out of the nursery. "Mom, what's happening?" she mewed, only to be shoved back inside by Flickerflame.

Skyfire coughed weakly, then smiled. "You'll all be great warriors together." he promised in a hoarse whisper. "Thunderheart... please be nice to your sister." he mewed, coughing more, and he slumped down, barely breathing.
