Windfur snorted. "Huh. Coughing and fever. Looks like greencough. If you dont get better, then the whole Clan will be at risk. Eat the herbs Snowstar!"

Hollyheart came to eventually, her eyes still cloudy with sleep. She staggered out of the warriors den, managing to trip over her own paws twice, over 3 nests and walk into the side of the entrance. "Ouch," she muttered.

Windfur looked up from Snowstar to see a ruffled black shecat staggering out of the warriors den. "Ahh! Its a demon!" he joked, pushing Hollyheart over into a pile of old moss lying around. Hollyheart swiped at her brother playfully, puling him into the moss as well, both of them purring loudly.

ic: Windfur looked around, then got up and went over to Cinderstorm. "Do you want me to go to another Clan to get some catmint with you? Hollyheart can look after Snowstar..." he suggested.

Snowstar was in her den lying in her nest. She was coughing feebly probably almost loud enough for a cat to hear it from below the high ledge where her den lay and her fever was worse.

Cinderstorm gave Snowstar more catmint, borage, and tansy leaves. "Here," she said gently," eat these herbs, they should help reduce your fever and help your cough."

Windfur nodded. He then padded over to Hollyheart, who was sleeping in the mossy pile. "Holly, can you look after Snowstar for Cinderstorm? You should be anyway, considering you are the other medicine cat," he asked his sister kindly.

Hollyheart nodded, and padded over to Snowstar. "Do you want a poppy seed to help you sleep?" she asked.

Starpaw, Lunarpaw and Solarpaw slept. They had all been up late last night.

Nightshade went to look for Dayflower in the nursery.

Hollyheart padded off to get the poppy seed and some honey for Snowstar's throat. Maybe that'll make her feel better.... she thought to herself. A young leader like her shouldnt be struck down by greencough like this!

'Snowstar went to breathe, but fell still. Her lungs failed, and she breathed no more. Snowstar opened her ees and she was in Spiritclan's hunting grounds. A small white shecat padded towards her, her fur spprinkled with stars. "Another liife lost to deadly greencough. You have 8 left - use them wisely..." the shecat said, and Snowstar was pulled back to reality as she fainted on the forest floor,

Dayflower purred when Nightshade padded through the den entrance. "Hey, Nightshade." she said smiling.

Cinderstorm lead the way out of the camp. She waited by the fresh-kill pile for Windfur to catch up.

Windfur shook the sense of foreboding out of his head, and followed Cinderstorm out of the camp. Maybe i'll be able to get the courage up to tell her about how i feel... he thought as he padded along.

Hollyheart grabbed a parcel of honey, and a few poppy seeds, and dragged them over to the leader's den. "Snowstar!" she gasped, as she looked at the shecat's body. Hollyheart groaned. Another life lost! Why? but then Snowstar came back to consciousness. "Oh, thank Spiritclan!" Hollyheart said, breathing deeply to calm herself.

Hollyheart purred. Very soon Starpaw will have her mentor back! she thought.

Starpaw yawned as she woke up and shoved Solarpaw's foot off her tail. "You two. Get up! Its almost sunhigh!" she said to her siblings. Lunarpaw looked at her sister uncomprehendingly, and groaned. "Morning already?" Solarpaw jumped up and pushed Starpaw out of the way to get to the dirtplace in time.

Raincloud got a nap but woke up to her kits. Dovekit sneezed two times then purred pounceing on her tail. Leafkit looked at her brother. "Wake up!" she mewed to him and poked him with her paw then started to stand up but she set one of her paws on Icekit.

Dovekit bounced out of her nest then mewed "Lets go out side!". Raincloud purred and got up "Okay lets go." She walked out of her den then stretched in the sunlight. "Come on." she mewed watching her kits. Dovekit bounced out of the den then froze looking around the camp. Leafkit padded out of the den looking at her sister "Come on Dovekit!" she yelled at her. Dovekit purred then looked back in the nursery "I want to look around the camp! Don't you? Get up!" she told her sleepy litter mates.

Solarpaw padded back into the camp. "Where's our mentors?" he asked his siblings. Starpaw sighed. "Snowstar's still sick....she lost a life last night, but i dont think she is fit for mentoring yet..."

Lunarpaw padded away from her sibling's depresing talk, and over to the kits. "Hey, guys!" she said. "Are you happy to be out of the nursery?"

"Of course! Come on I want to look around!" Dovekit mewed then ran off. Icekit fallowed without saying anything. Raincloud purred. "Finally I thought they would never get up!" she mewed friendly. She stretched in the sun light. That is when Bumblekit came out of the den. He had a hard night with the other kits. he sighed then ran around with the other kits.

Lunarpaw purred. "Look how much bigger Bumblekit is compared to you four! Its almost funny! Do you want me to teach you a new game?" she said (lol kitty-in-the-middle never fails!)

Starpaw and Solarpaw continued their depressing conversation.

Nightshade looked at his mate. "How are you feeling? Did you sleep okay? Are you hungry?" he said happily.

Hollyheart padded over to Snowstar's den with a mouthful of herbs in her jaws. "Snowstar?" she called softly.

Raincloud watched her happy kits. She padded around camp.

Icekit licked her paw where blood was seeping out while waiting for instructions. She was trying to hide her paw so nobody else would see it.

Hollyheart purred, and left Snowstar to rest, only to be almost run over by Lunarpaw. "Hurry!" the apprentice said. "Icekit has a broken pad," she explained. Hollyheart nodded, ran into the medicine den, then returned to the cats with a pawful of cobwebs. "Keep still," she said to Icekit, and wrapped the cobwebs around her paw. "There. Now Icekit, can i trust you to keep off your paws for a day? Or do you have to come to the medicine den with me?" she teased.

Starpaw and Solarpaw grabbed a piece of freshkill and started eating it together. Nightshade padded over to the two apprentices, and started grooming Starpaw's fur.

Starpaw wriggled away from her father, and Nightshade purred. Solarpaw sniggered, so Starpaw whacked his head into the dusty ground, and Solarpaw got a mouthful of dirt. "Hey!" he spat, sending dit flying everwhere. Starpaw giggled more.

Windfur paddded into the camp with a mouthful of catmint in his carefully placed jaws. "Hu-ho!" he mumbled around it. "Whu hu-hu ho Hcehit?" (what happened to Icekit)

Hollyheart stifled a purr of laughter when she saw her brother. "Oh, Windfur!" she giggled.

Lunarpaw frowned. "I dont know. What do you think, Raincloud?" she asked.

Nightshade left two of his kin racing around the camp, whil he went to look for his mate. "Dayflower?" he called when he reached the nursery.
