A peat-filled hollow, part of which is underneath a huge, twisted pine with tangled roots making up a roof of sorts. The ground is sandy soft, though it gets muddy when it rains.

Nettlepaw padded to the side of the hollow, looking back to spot for his mentor.

Thorntail padded up behind his apprentice. "How are you feeling?"

"Ready to train," he mewed, "The peat smell almost covers the egg smell."

Thorntail purred with amusement. "I don't think anything could cover that egg stink," he sat and curled his tail around his paws.

"So...what else do I have to learn?" Nettlepaw asked, "I mean, I've been training for six moons now. Do I get to learn like, secret warrior moves now?"

Thorntail shifted a little. "At this point it's mostly just perfecting what you know. There are a few more advanced moves that you haven't touched, if you want to know them?"

"Sounds good," Nettlepaw nodded, flicking his tail and looking around. The forest seemed unusually empty, no bird song or scuttling among the ferns.

He nodded, stretching a little. "Why don't you show me what you know already then?"

"Alright," Nettlepaw mewed. He backed up and sized up his mentor. As much as the apprentice had grown over the moons he still wasn't quite as big as Thorntail. He lowered himself so his belly fur brushed the floor and darted towards Thorntail, aiming to swipe at his face then dart aside.

Thorntail watched the apprentice's eyes betray his movements, dodging it but not entirely missing the thankfully sheathed blow. He flashed a paw out as he moved, feeling it connect with Nettlepaw's foreleg.

Nettlepaw stumbled as Thorntail's blow hit him, swiftly regaining his balance and avoiding splaying onto the peat floor. He turned nimbly, aiming another blow at Thorntail's side.

Thorntail leaped back, using one of the trees lining the hollow to bounce off of and land behind Nettlepaw.

Nettlepaw whirled as Thorntail landed behind him, stretching a paw out as he turned to wack his mentor in the face.

Thorntail moved to retaliate but was knocked off his feet by the sharp jolting of the earth. He wheezed a little as the air was knocked out of him, watching the trees shake violently for a few moments.

Nettlepaw rose shakily as the tremors stopped. "Another one?" he mewed, his uncaring demeanor slipping.

Thorntail nodded, getting back on his paws with a grunt. "I-I think we should get back to camp," he mewed cautiously.
