Ebonyflame walked along the border, slowing a bit as she reached the spot that they'd agreed to meet. She felt a rush of relief as she spotted Lightningclaw's black pelt, and quickly padded over, touching her nose to his. "I'm so glad you made it," She said, sighing quietly. It was obvious that something was wrong.

Ebonyflame glanced down at her paws. "That obvious?" she asked, her voice cracking a bit. "A clanmate was hit on the thunderpath today," She said, although that wasn't the full reason that she was upset.

"Not really," Ebonyflame said. "My sister knew her better than I did." She sat down, wrapping her tail around her paws. "My sister had her kits, also. A couple days ago."

"I think Sedgeflower kind of thought something was up, but she's too busy with her kits to really look into it right now, so we should be good." Ebonyflame mewed. "No one in StormClan really notices what i do." She laughed bitterly, but she didn't really care that much.

"That would probably be safer," She agreed. She cleared her throat, suddenly feeling a bit self conscious that her voice sounded rough. She glanced behind her, feeling like she'd heard a twig snap, but it was probably just because she was being paranoid.
