Blueshine glared at the medicine cats. "Besides, are you all forgetting all the deaths we've suffered by claws of another Clan?" she growled, then turned to Viperstar, "We need more security within our Clan."

Faltermist nodded in agreement. "We don't need to suffer under another Clan's say. Don't we get to decide anything? There was a clear sign, and SoulClan chose him." She finished with a nod.

Featherwhisker just shook his head and padded into the medicine den, refusing to talk or to have any interaction with any cat whatsoever in his grief.

Streamdapple dug up the ground with her claws. "But LeafClan are weak and starving! They'll come more readily if you offer them refuge here, rather than forcing them."

Oceanbreeze blinked and hurried after Featherwhisker, ignoring everyone else compltely. "Featherwhisker..." she whispered, her paw steps quiet against the ground. "C- Come on... We have to be ready in case V- Viperstar wants us to do anything...."

Blossomshade flicked her ear and lashed her tail nervously. She didn't really like this plan, but everyone else seemed to, so she stayed quiet.

Oceanbreeze stared at him for a moment before moving to his side and sitting down. "Don't give up Featherwhisker... She wouldn't have wanted you to." she touched her nose to his ear and whispered softly then stood and padded to the herb store.

Ravenwing flattened his ears at Streamdapple. "Why do we need to wait on them? Can't we just go and ask them if they want to join?"
"Because they won't, mousebrain." The older shecat flicked the young warrior's ear with a soft growl. "It's not like stalking prey. Cats are smarter."

Featherwhisker's gaze focused on Oceanbreeze as the shecat left, and as he sunk into a restless sleep, he thought he could feel a familiar weight across his shoulders, coupled with a scent he dearly didn't want to forget.

Oceanbreeze glanced over at him after a few minutes and couldn't help the frown that crossed her features. When she went to turn however, her ears perked as she heard the rustling of fur and a strange scent wreathed around her. "Keep fighting..." a voice whispered before it and the scent disappeared.

Faltermist opened her mouth. "LeafClan is already starving. They will probably want to join, anyways. We have good hunting grounds and we are a strong Clan." She eyed some of the other cats when she said 'we'. "We aren't much of a threat. They can already hunt here. So what's the problem?"

Oceanbreeze merely shook her head. "I'm not going to discuss it with you Hailpaw. Prophecies are meant to be interpreted, not argued over." She fixed the apprentice with a cold, tired gaze. "If you believe that it means Viperstar will bring good, that's your interpretation."

Asterpetal, I know Clan life is new, but that's it." Her voice turned indifferent. "And when that's done, it'll probably be better."

Oceanbreeze frowned. "If you did kill him, you'd have no medicine cat, because you'd either have to kill me or I'd leave. I wouldn't ever stay in a clan who's supposed leader kills their medicine cats for doing their jobs." she hissed. "At least if we died, we wouldn't have to follow you."
