FireClan | The Meadow

FireClan's Meadow is one of a few large clearings in the Clan's forest area, but is by far the largest and the grassiest. Many superstitions accompany this area, mostly passed down by stories told to kits as the elders, leading to apprentices refusing to hunt here until they know it is safe.
Down slightly lower than the rest of the clearings the Meadow is unique as it always seems to attract the most attention from intruders such as badgers and foxes. It has to be patrolled regularly, as animals often try to move in here without permission.
The long grass is a good place to hunt ground mammals such as mice and voles, but it also is home to many ground-nesting birds and will often hide a rabbit or two as well.

Stormcrest paused and glanced around, scenting the air. All he got back was the rancid stench that surrounded their camp, and he gagged because of it. "I don't know if we're going to find anything," he muttered to Cloudscorch.

Cloudscorch glanced at the tom, surprised he was talking to her. "It's worth a shot," she mewed a little awkwardly.

"I suppose. Let's hope it's not all rotten." Stormcrest shook his head and sighed before padding forward, being careful of when he scented the air.

Cloudscorch nodded, taking a drink from the stream to try and clear her mouth before she too scented the air.

Stormcrest tensed up and shrunk to the floor as the earth shook. "Everybody get down!"

Fernpaw looked around frantically as the rumbling persisted, desperately sinking his claws as deep into the ground as he could.

Stormcrest rose to his paws once the quaking ceased, looking first over the apprentices, then to Cloudscorch. "Are you okay?" He questioned lightly, his fur still puffed up.

Agatepaw raised slightly from the ground, before almost falling head-first into the grass and slowly lowering back down again, keeping a close eye on his clanmates
