FrostClan | Camp

FrostClan’s camp is an open, almost meadow-like area in the middle of the forest, though the sheer thickness of the trees around almost shelter the entire area. Grass and brambles grow thick around the walls and boulders that make the walls, and multiple small entrances and exits exist rather than one main one.
Warriors den: in a hollow between two large boulders, with a roof made of brambles and woven leaves.
Apprentices den: next to the warriors den, a shallow dip covered by a bramble.
Nursery: A sturdy woven bramble bush with thorns stripped off on the inside, surrounded by ferns.
Medicine den: Under the roots of a large oak, supported by rocks that have been moved in many moons ago.
Elders den: a smallish cave with moss growing inside.
Leaders den: A small crag beneath the Tallcave, where announcements are made.

Poolstar shook out her fur as she padded back into camp, glancing at the sky as shadows began to descend over it. A squirrel hung from her jaws, which she set down on the fresh kill pile, noting happily the size of it. She stretched out her front legs, flexing her claws into the dirt under-paw. A shake of her head and she padded to her den, tail swishing behind her while she debated over who would be going to the gathering.

Erminepaw trotted into camp, head held high and a hare dangling from her jaws. She set her kill down and looked to Poolstar, hoping the leader would notice her giant kill.

The movement caught Poolstar's attention and she glanced over to see Erminepaw set down the hare. She purred at the apprentice, flicking her tail. "Catch that all on your own?" She mewed, padding closer.

Erminepaw nodded. "Thought I was gonna break my back carrying it back," she mewed in a gloating tone.

A low chuckle left the leader and she shook her head. "Then you should work on lifting things, Erminepaw. I and your father wouldn't want to see your back broken," she purred, touching her nose to the apprentice's ear.

Erminepaw's tail drooped and she looked at the hare she had caught. She had thought it would be big enough to earn her leader's praise. She huffed and stalked to her den to sulk.

Lichenpaw sneezed as she padded into camp, feeling her nose twitch and sniffing a little.

Frostflower padded slowly out of the nursery, flicking her ears backwards with a disgruntled huff. She looked up when she heard Lichenpaw sneeze. "Something get in your nose?" She mewed, tilting her head. 

Poolstar looked away from where Erminepaw had went to fix her gaze onto Lichenpaw. She purred in greeting, glancing back up at the sky.

Lichenpaw shrugged. "A mouse kicked up some seed pods earlier," she suggested.

Lupinfrost padded into camp, glancing behind him for Icepaw.

Erminepaw perked up as her father padded into camp. She slunk out of the apprentice den, ducking under the overhanging rocks, and padded to meet him. "Lupinfrost!" she chirped, "Did you see the hare I caught today?"

Lupinfrost purred at his eldest daughter. "You caught a hare? Not sneaking on to BrightClan territory, are you?" he teased.

Frostflower nodded, but still looked over the apprentice with some concern. She flicked her tail-tip and wandered over to the fresh kill pile, admiring the hare, but settling on a squirrel instead. As she headed back to the nursery, she gave a proud purr towards Erminepaw, trying to compliment the apprentice in her own way.

She gave an amused purr, "How would I even drag it that far, look how big it is!"

Lupinfrost snorted. "You do a lot that makes me proud, Erminepaw," he licked her ear. "Maybe we should do some group training at some point, you can show me what you've learnt."

Erminepaw's chest swelled with pride. "Do you think Poolstar is going to take me to the gathering tonight?" she mewed.

Lupinfrost's whiskers twitched. "I don't know. She'll make an announcement soon, I'm sure."

Beepaw bounced up to her brother "Wolfwatcher!" she called, flicking her tail.

Venomflicker groomed himself, awaiting Poolstars announcement about the gathering.

Wolfwatcher turned around at the sound of his little sister. "Beepaw. Have you eaten yet?" His voice was cold like usual with a hint of fondness.

The she-cat shook her head "Not yet" she purred.

Vanillapaw watched Beepaw and Wolfwatcher talk, flicking her tail in envy.

Wolfwatcher smiled slightly at the apprentice. "Wait for me by the apprentice's den. We can share a rabbit." He padded away towards the fresh kill pile, mood lightened.

Beepaw purred and waited in silence, flicking her tail

Wolfwatcher returned with a fat rabbit. "Who's your mentor again? It feels like I haven't talked to you in a long time. Are you ready for the gathering? Don't be disappointed if you don't go, you have the rest of your life to go to a silly gathering."

"Um, I'm not sure," Beepaw said nervously "Poolstars been so busy lately" she trailed off.

Wolfwatcher nodded, grooming his little sister's pelt where it was sticking up weirdly. "Well, I'm sure your mentor will probably end up staying back with you if you don't go."

Erminepaw saw Wolfwatcher and scrambled to join him, shooting a look at Beepaw. "Wolfwatcher!" she mewed, "How are you?"

Poolstar picked up a mouse from the fresh kill pile, a sudden hit of grief over her lost mate making her retreat to her den to eat. She settled down, placing the mouse by her paws before taking a bite of it, contemplating who she should call to the gathering. 

Dappleshine stretched out as she padded into camp, a fat vole in her jaws. She trotted over to the fresh kill pile and dropped it, fluffy tail swaying happily behind her.

"Evening, Erminepaw!" Beepaw mewed, excited "Do you think we're going to the gathering?"

Erminepaw looked smugly at the little apprentice, "I think I am going to the gathering," she mewed, "I'm not sure about you, though. Gatherings can get pretty rough."

Wolfwatcher shot Erminepaw a look. "Be nice. Did you go out with the hunting patrol that just came back?" He asked, pawing the rabbit closer to her. "Eat something."

(Late woops)

Icepaw padded into camp not long after Lupinfrost, shaking her white fur and scrunching up her nose. She held a hare slightly smaller than her, forcing her to waddle a little to the fresh kill pile. She set it down and padded back over to her mentor, pride filling her from her hunt.

Poolstar licked her muzzle clean and buried the bones, rising to her paws and climbing up onto the Tallcave. Her tail swayed behind her, twitching with the slightest bit of anxiety. "Let all cats old enough to climb the mountains gather beneath the Tallcave for a Clan meeting!" 

Dappleshine moved to sit down, purring a greeting to Frostflower as the queen joined her.

Vanillapaw almost ran to the Tallcave, slowly herself so she didn't bump into anyone. 

Beepaw frowned at Erminepaw's comment, but shrugged it off and sat down next to Wolfwatcher under the Tallcave.

Erminepaw and Fennelclaw trotted to the base of the Tallcave.

Icepaw heard the call and sat down where she was, curling her tail over paws.

Lupinfrost winked praise at his apprentice, padding a little further forward before he sat down too.

Lichenpaw stifled another sneeze, rubbing her muzzle with a forepaw before finding her way to her brother. "Stupid seed pod," she grumbled quietly.

Wolfwatcher and Blacktail sat next to each other under the Tallcave, Beepaw to Wolfwatcher's left.

Blizzardpaw's ears hearkened at the announcement from the clan leader while he was closely beside his mentor Dappleshine. His tail curled at the end as he curiously thought about what Poolstar could say to everyone but refrained from lingering on the topic. Too much delving would spike his interest and likely cause him to do something he'd regret later. Instead, the curious apprentice decided to remain calm and quiet, waiting.

Coldcall limped over to the group by the Tallcave and laid down on his left side. He gazed around, looking to see if his sister had gathered yet.

Upon hearing the call, Mintsky made her way out of her den and to where cats gathered. She found a spot somewhat towards the back, examining her clanmates around her. Hopefully the ones going to the gathering had already eaten, she knew how hungry one could get if they didn't eat beforehand! She made mental note to make sure everyone ate their share.

Vanillapaw moved herself next to Mintsky, dipping her head “Evening! I’m really nervous for the gathering,” She purred “What’s it usually like?”

“The gathering is truly a wonderful event, seeing al of the clans come together in peace for one night.” She trilled, flicking an ear in greeting to Vanillapaw. “Just as long as you stay out of trouble and don’t get too close with the other clan members, the night will go smoothly.”

Poolstar cleared her throat to draw the attention back to her, fur prickling with her nerves. "As you all know, tonight is the gathering. Those accompanying me will be Lupinfrost, Wolfwatcher, Mintsky, Fennelclaw, Dappleshine, Venomflicker, Coldcall, Blacktail, Lichenpaw, Erminepaw, Vanillapaw, Blizzardpaw, and Icepaw," she called, stepping back once she finished the announcement. "If any of those called would prefer to stay home, let me know. Make sure to eat before we leave." She jumped down, landing lightly on her paws. 

Dappleshine lightly nudged Blizzardpaw, purring, "You get to come with! Are you excited?" Her head tilted, a soft expression on her features.

Dappleshine lightly nudged Blizzardpaw, purring, "You get to come with! Are you excited?" Her head tilted, a soft expression on her features.

The moment the leader started to speak to her clan members, Blizzardpaw turned his head and glanced at her while his tail curiously curled around his small body. His stare was short-lived, however, after his mentor nudged him softly. He started to purr back because she was being very friendly as she had been since she agreed to take him in and show him the ways of being a warrior. “I am a little nervous,” he replied honestly and wasn’t going to lie. The last gathering happened during the days of being a kit and this would be his very first. “Are there going to be a lot attending?”

Erminepaw sent a mockingly sad expression Beepaw's way. "Aw, you're not invited?" she mewed.

Fennelclaw swished his tail. Being around other Clans always put him a bit on edge.

Beepaw was upset, but she tried to keep a happy face “Wolfwatcher will tell me all about it, right?” She mewed quietly

Vanillapaw flicked her tail in excitement, attempting to push down her self doubt

Coldcall huffed and stood up, walking towards the fresh-kill pile. Picking out a mouse, he headed near the camp wall and settled down to eat. He had to have enough energy to go to the gathering and be a little negativity bubble at the other clans.

"Probably," Erminepaw mewed, "It's a shame you won't get another chance until leafbare."

Wolfwatcher sighed. "It really is a shame, but you have tons of chances to go to a gathering before you become a warrior." He mewed, tail curling around Beepaw lovingly. "I promise I'll tell you all about it when I get back. You know, I didn't go to my first gathering until I was 9 moons old! I got so upset every time I wasn't allowed to go, but you know, the longer you wait the more amazing it ends up being." He smiled with a light of childishness in his eyes, his old memories bringing him joy. "I'll put in good word for you to go next time, how about it?"

Blacktail looked up to the slightly darkening sky. His tail swished with happiness at being able to go to a gathering, looking at his younger leader with a good sense of glee. "When will we leave?"

Venomflicker grabbed a mouse from the fresh-kill pile, trying to ignore all of the cats around

Beepaw nodded, "I hope you and Erminepaw have fun at the gathering!" She mewed, trying to hide how Erminepaw's words were getting under her skin
