Lichenpaw purred but sneezed again, much to her annoyance, and managed to collect herself before Lupinfrost padded over to the apprentices. "There are only so many cats we can take to the Gathering," he pointed out calmly to the apprentices, whiskers twitching slightly at Beepaw's fluffed pelt. "You'll have a better sleep here anyway, so I want you to come on my dawn patrol tomorrow, Beepaw."

Erminepaw watched the younger apprentice squirm with smug satisfaction. "Wolfwatcher, do you think I'll be able to meet any of the other deputies at the gathering?" she mewed.

Wolfwatcher stroked his sister's back with his tail softly, giving her a sympathetic smile. He turned to look at Erminepaw, scrunching up his nose in thought. "Possibly. We might need to have a... discussion... about the new leaders, and that might not be for apprentices' ears," he mewed softly. "But, I can introduce you to them if we're done before the gathering starts. Theres always next time, too. Have you eaten anything yet?" He asked his apprentice.

Wolfwatcher perked up lightly, eyes twinkling. "Sure! We can eat by the apprentices' den. How about you and Beepaw go and get it?" he stood, urging up his little sister with his tail before smiling at them and walking over to the den.

Icepaw fluffed up her pelt with excitement at going to the gathering, wondering what to do until then. She bounded over to her mentor, her eyes bright with wonder. “Lupinfrost, should i go on a patrol or help around camp before tonight?” She asked him, her fur still fluffed up.

Poolstar simply rolled her eyes at the antics of the apprentices. She stretched out, then padded towards Lupinfrost and Wolfwatcher, ears twitching. "Hurry along and get yourselves something to eat you two," she mewed, amber eyes focusing on Erminepaw and Beepaw. She offered an affectionate purr, then turned her focus back to her deputies. "Are you two ready for the gathering?" She tilted her head, tail swaying slowly.

Dappleshine purred at Blizzardpaw. "Get something to eat, Blizzardpaw. You don't want to go to the gathering hungry," she mewed, flicking her striped tail against his nose. She padded off after, picking up a mouse for herself and settling down.

Wolfwatcher hummed in agreement with Poolstar. "More or less. Hopefully there aren't any fights between the apprentices like last time." he grumbled, blinking.

Blacktail padded over to Dappleshine. "Gathering, huh? You ready?" he purred, sitting down next to her.

Erminepaw trotted to the freshkill pile and lifted the hare she caught, straining her neck dragging it to Wolfwatcher and setting it down with a loud thump.

Dappleshine jolted in surprise and her ears heated as she shuffled her paws. "I am, yeah," she mewed, curling her soft tail around her paws. "It's Blizzardpaw's first gathering, so I'm excited to see how he does."

Poolstar nodded in response to Wolfwatcher. "Apprentices will be apprentices," she purred, glancing towards Erminepaw and offering the apprentice an encouraging purr. "Erminepaw is getting much better at hunting with you as her mentor, Wolfwatcher."

Erminepaw purred, setting the hare down sitting down next to it, folding her paws under her tail. She tried not to show her pride at being praised by the leader.

Wolfwatcher purred. "My apprentice is a quick learner. She picks things up very quickly. She's been doing a lot better with hunting these past few weeks, too," his words were hidden behind rabbit as he started eating.

Blacktail smiled, leaning into his mate lightly. "Blizzardpaw will be okay. He seems like he'd fit it with a few other shy-ish apprentices," he curled his long tail around her. "Have you eaten? If not, we can share."

"I haven't yet," Dappleshine mewed and bumped her nose against his cheek, nuzzling her head under his. "What are you in the mood for? Mouse, squirrel, bird?" She parted her jaws in a yawn and purred.

Poolstar chuckled and nodded. "So I see. I picked well with her mentor then," she meowed, then looked towards Lichenpaw. "Lichenpaw has been doing rather well with me."

Erminepaw puffed out her chest as the leader praised her and her sister, wondering whether to wait for Wolfwatcher to finish before she dug in.

Wolfwatcher nudged the rabbit towards his apprentice, and smiled. "Lichenpaw should spar with Erminepaw sometime! I'd love to see if all my offensive training with her has paid off." he purred to Poolstar. "I should probably set up a spar between Erminepaw and my sister, too. It's good experience to train with someone other than your mentor."

Erminepaw looked at Beepaw as though she was a particularly interesting piece of prey. "I'm curious to see what your mentor has taught you. It feels like it's been seasons since we last sparred, don't you think?" she mewed icily.

Poolstar watched with a clear amusement, moving to her paws and brushing against Erminepaw as she passed. "I'm sure you both will do amazingly," she purred, looking at Beepaw as she spoke. She sent the shy apprentice a reassuring look, then padded off to her den.

Risingscorch finished the mouse he'd picked out, then trotted over to the small group Poolstar had just vacated. He took a seat by Beepaw, having heard mention of a spar from where he was eating. "Beepaw has been doing well! She's a quick learner," he purred, chest puffed with pride for his apprentice.

Poolstar turned her attention towards the sky, rising to her paws. "We're heading for the gathering! Finish your meal and gather at the camp entrance." She padded over to it, waving her tail.

Dappleshine quickly followed, but first dealt an affectionate lick to Blacktail's ear.

Fennelclaw padded to the leader's side, ignoring his hunger. He would go hunting when he got home.

Erminepaw shot a glare at Beepaw then trotted to join Poolstar, tail held high.

Vanillapaw made sure to groom her pelt and make sure she was presentable for the other medicine cats. "Quartzshine?" She questioned, looking at the older tom

Beepaw tried to get her confidence up "Have fun, Wolfwatcher, and Erminepaw!" She mewed, muttering "I wish I could've gone, though" to herself.

Poolstar nodded to Lupinfrost, finding herself thinking back onto the last gathering, when her mate walked with the clan and not with the stars. She shook away the pain, cleared her throat, and called, "We're leaving! Gather yourselves!" She padded out, tail swaying.

Echowing's whiskers twitched. "Are you sure, Aurapaw?" she teased.

Aurapaw frowned at Jayswoop. "It might happen! Mapleglow, Silverwind, and Frostflower are all expecting kits," she mewed, stepping closer to Hailfeather. "I'm fine with just going with them," she added.

Risingscorch nodded and licked between his mate's ears. "Well, you'll be able to go out more once the kits are born. I'll make sure you get to," he purred.
