"Hey!" Hawksky mewed teasingly, scrambling after her. "Uh, I'm not very good at telling sarcasm. Was that a joke? Can the actually?" he added, sounding more serious.

Tulippaw made a small 'aww' noise. "We can't, its okay. I was only joking." She licked his cheek in a motion of apology.

Tulippaw decided not to comment, instead padding into the cave-like structure and into the heavy smell of herbs with a hot feeling in her cheeks.

Tulippaw thought for a moment. "Juniper, thyme, feverfew, and tansy," she mewed, though her voice seemed almost distant as she remembered the meeting the night before. Padding over to the juniper she suddenly whipped around. "The prophecy! I never told Hollyshade and Carnelianpaw about the prophecy!"

"Prophecy?" Hawksky mewed, his head already stuffed with things Tulippaw had rambled about.

Tulippaw practically vibrated on her paws. "Featherwhisker spoke to us to give us the cure for the sickness and he also gave me a prophecy just before Coldfoot died," she mewed, taking a gasping breath before continuing. "The heart of the Clan will crack and break, but both good and bad come out of darkness."

Tulippaw shrugged. "I think we'll only know when it happens," she mewed, looking up as rain began to fall, pattering against the rocks and dripping through the cracks in the ceiling ."We should hurry back..."

"Did you get the herbs we need?" Hawksky asked, having been so distracted by his pondering that he hadn't paid attention to her.

Tulippaw looked around. "Do you know what juniper berry looks like?" She padded over to the tansy, taking a few leaves.

"Uh...think so." Hawksky frowned, "They're the blue ones that grow on evergreens right?"

Tulippaw nodded. "There shouldn't be any yew down here but be cautious otherwise."

"Cautious for...yew? Is it gonna attack me?" Hawksky asked with a chuckle, "I don't think yew will be down here either since it grows on trees."

Tulippaw nodded. "Cautious as in, don't go getting any ideas about your own herb picking elsewhere," she joked, running her tail past his nose as she padded by him to get to the thyme.

"Wait how am I gonna find juniper berries underground I'm pretty sure they grow on trees." Hawksky asked, "Are you messing with me?"

Tulippaw turned and poked her tail at the tree in the furthest corner, half in the shade and becoming a little more invisible as the dim light was dimmed further by the growing storm clouds. "We have almost every herb we would ever need in here," she explained. "The first medicine cats made sure of it. Someone took a few berries from one of the trees in the Bird Song trees and planted them."

Hawksky gasped. "Ooooh that sounds so cool!" he mewed, sniffing around for the smelly berries. "Is this common medicinal knowledge?"

"Planting berries to make trees grow?" Tulippaw purred lightly. "We know a little, yeah. We get taught how to take smaller, new herbs and move them about, how to care for them and not drown them in water."

Tulippaw shrugged. "I mean, it's not super hard. They need shelter from the cold, but enough sunlight to grow." She motioned around the area. "This place works really well."

Hawksky carefully stripped the berries off a branch with his claws and gathered them together into a small pile.

Tulippaw finished gathering her own herbs into a small bundle and wrapped it deftly with a large oak leaf, taken from a stack at the side. "All right, we should head back..." She looked at him, her eyes saying emotions that her words couldn't, under her oath. Mousebrain, she cursed herself, picking the bundle up to cover her fur growing hot again.

Jadestar padded alongside Brindlepaw, her tail swaying as she approached the outlook. "After we're done with a small tour, we can go train," she meowed to the new apprentice, glancing down at her.

"Okay!" Brindlepaw was still in awe of their surroundings, the slightly dusty dirt now sprinkled with fresh snow making her excitement reach the sky. She paused for a moment when we reached the top, looking over towards BrightClan's territory with a gasp.

Jadestar chuckled softly at the shecat's excitement, looking up towards the sky as snowflakes continued to fall. She closed her eyes, a breeze ruffling her fur as her thoughts drifted.

Brindlepaw purred and flicked a small pile of the fluffy stuff. "This is so weird. Why would the sky make this?" She looked up, just in time to get a cold splash on her nose which made her jump and shiver.

"Nobody knows. It's only frozen water, though. In Leafbare, the waters in the rivers and lakes all freeze over with ice," Jadestar meowed and opened her eyes. "We're close to Leaf-bare."

Jadestar chuckled and nodded, climbing down from the outlook. "We'll head to Bird Song Trees from here so you can see the patrol hunt. I'll teach you the basics of it while we're there," she meowed.
