Near to the beach and not too far from the Twolegplace border, a part of BrightClan's territory has recently been fenced off and is home to some strange animals. Though rabbits daren't go near, mice are found where the horses are kept in the evenings in the straw, and a few kittypets occasionally are found just inside the border that BrightClan has clearly marked. Dogs and twolegs sometimes come from here, but mostly aren't too much trouble.

Silverpaw beckoned Greypaw as she came into view. "Look, there's a fat mouse there," she whispered, careful to not wake the sleeping strange animals.

Greypaw nodded. He stepped forward, cracking some straw. He froze. A horse opened his eyes, as Greypaw amd Silverpaw darted away in time. "Whew," he mewed, blinking.

Lynxcloud padded here, not yet noticing the two troublesome apprentices. She saw a mouse scuttling between one of the cracks in the fence and leaped, catching it with a killing bite. She trotted back confidently, burying it underneath a nearby elderberry bush.
"See anything, Whitedove?" she meowed, careful not to wake the snoring horses nearby.

Silverpaw led Greypaw out of the straw. "Linxcloud," she whispered.

Greypaw glanced worriedly at the sleeping horses. One caught his eye; a pretty silver and grey mottled one.

Lynxcloud heard a whisper nearby and crawled towards it, her eyes glinting like blood in the darkness of the barn they were hiding in.
"Who goes there?" she hissed, hackles raising.

Silverpaw stepped forward. "It's me and Greypaw," she mewed quietly. "We were hunting so we can eat." Silverpaw looked down at her aching belly.

"Did you get permission?" she asked, relaxing her pelt.

"No, but we're really hungry," Silverpaw said. She looked up pleadingly at Linxcloud.

"I'm sure plenty of patrols have arrived back at camp with prey for you to eat after the elders, queens, and kits. Now shoo back to camp, and don't take any turns." Lynxcloud scoffed at Silverpaw's pathetic look and patted their shoulders with her tail.

Greypaw spoke up. "But we can't eat until we catch a lot of prey,"

Silverpaw continued for her brother. "Ivorystar said so."

Lynxcloud flicked her ear irritably. She sighed and nodded.
"Fine, you can hunt, but you must stay by us. Now, go and catch some of those mice," she instructed.
"Be careful!" she called after them, her eye on a certain rat scuttling beneath a crack in the hay bile herself.

Silverpaw said, "Thanks!" She scented the air for mouse.

Greypaw spotted a small mouse nibbling some of the hay. He crept forward, tail still.
