The Woven Streams

To the north end of the Jungle lies a collection of shallow, winding streams that track across the forest floor. Not as many larger trees grow here, but smaller ones with wide roots (mangroves) which often the floor inside collapses, making an easy to use nest. The streams are deep enough to house small minnows and the occasional larger fish, and small plants grow well around her

"Yeah." Mochi said. She looked up at the spot in the tree she was looking at earlier. "Up there looks like a good spot." She said, examining the sturdy and thick ledge as well as the thick layer of leaves above it

"No." Mochi hissed. "We need to check the branch out first!" She said as she leaped up the trunk of the tree and climbed up.

"We could build some brambles around it and- oh" Mochi said. She noticed that the branch was also connected to another large branch that had leaves around it and above. It looked like a den. She leaped in.

"Yes it can! And look!" Mochi said. There were several branches that connects to more den like areas. "We can have an advantage over our enemies by training and living in the trees." She purred

Aric nodded. He looked up and tapped Mochi with his tail to make her be quiet. He nodded at a squirrel in the branches.

Mochi, being the stubborn cat she was, quietly moved on. The squirrel didn't notice her though. She entered another tree den. It had thick branches. Medicine den. She thought. She looked back to make sure she didn't scare the squirrel away. It was still there

Aric looked back at the Squirrel. It was just eating a acorn. Aric looked over at part of the trees and sniffed it. "Smells like Owl."

Mochi walked down a sloped branch and found another den like branch. But the branch here was really big and connected to other branches. It also had a fallen log that led to the bottom. These will be the Hunters and Fighters. Mochi thought

Aud scampered around camp, chasing a butterfly. He ran right into Mochi and jumped back, eyes wide. " Sorry!" He squeaked.

"Be careful up in these trees. You can fall." Mochi said jokingly. She glanced at the butterfly he was chasing flutter away.

Aud looked around, and saw his butterfly going away. He flattened his ears in disappointment. " I'm not going to fall." He answered finally.

Aud looked up at the looming branches above him. " sure!" He meowed and bunched up his legs, leaping to a branch and struggling up, standing on it now. He then dug his claws into the trunk and scooted upward. He stopped where the branches met, making a basket like thing. this could be good for a den.. He thought. " Mochi! I think I found something, its pretty big."

"Really?" Mochi asked. She entered the shade den. It was huge. "This can be the prisoners. It only has one exit so we can easily have it guarded." She said

Aud bristled slightly. " prisoners? What prisoners?" He challenged. " it would be of more use if the birthmothers lived here."

"The birthmothers have a place up there." Mochi said, pointing her nose to another den. It was smaller but still useable.

Aud looked at his paws. " ok.." He meowed then leapt up to the den. quiet cozy.. He thought, thinking about sleeping here and how comfortable it would be. He laid down, growling softly as bark picked at his flesh. He sat up. once we get some moss nests THEN it will be comfortable.

Mochi leaped up, her claws catching into thick bark. She climed up. The branches were shorted here but it was easy to jump from tree to tree here

Aric gathered some moss, placing it on his pile. He soon had enough and he looked at Aud. "I'm going to bring this back to camp then patrol." He picked up the moss.

Aud pressed his rather large pile down, and rolled it up. " I'm coming to, I'll make the nests in the nursery." He meowed, then mumbled under his breath. " it's not like I have anything better to do." He picked up his ball in his mouth, and started to walk home.

Aud clambered up the tree into the dip of branches that created the nursery. He started to spread out the moss.

Mango climbed up the thick branch and went to the new nursery. I'm not sure if I'm comfortable with the kits being up here..... she thought.

Bellamy padded into the clearing with ease, glancing around to see if Mochi was there. He spotted her and nodded to Asher. "Greetings, Mochi!" he meowed, stepping closer. "I've come with an invite from Slash to come to the meeting between all allies before the Clan attack at sundown."

Mochi stood up. "I'm going to meet up with Slash(?) now. Anybody who wants to come can come." She said as she started to exit the area.
