Emberstep of Fireclan

Appearance: Emberstep is a Somali cat, sporting a thick fluffy coat of dark reds and orange hues. He has a patch on the end of his tail where the red fades into a deep black, and his underbelly and underside of his chin are the lightest bits of his pelt. His eyes are a dark, thoughtful yellow with green undertones. He is of medium height, but is noticeably lean and muscular. His whiskers are short and stiff, and his nose is a ruddy color that seems to match the rest of his pelt. His fur is considerably soft, like touching feathers, and it is long and useful in leaf-bare when the weather turns especially cold. His bright fur does not provide particular advantage when hunting and stealth is sorta out of the question. His paw pads are black but surprisingly soft and un-calloused. The underside of his belly, though unnoticeable at first, has three long scars running down it that flame white against his skin.

Personality: Emberstep is highly energetic and a bright, silver-tongued cat. He has a reputation of being canny and discerning. He tends to have the right impression of cats when he first sees them, and he's trusted to be a good judge of character. However, his non-stop attitude gets overwhelming at times and his tendency to push at other cats sets them on edge. An impatient acquaintance could quickly turn into an enemy. And on that point, once Emberstep loses his trust in a cat, it's lost virtually for forever. He finds it extremely difficult to forgive when someone's wronged him. Otherwise, minor incidents don't bother him, and he has a very loyal persona.

History:

Emberstep was born a clan cat, and easily lived normal clan cat life. His mother and his father were there for him and his siblings through kithood, and his siblings were the typical squabbling siblings that you could observe if you walked into any nursery. They all quickly showed aptitude for the clan life, showing dominant skills in hunting, fighting, and providing. Their parents were sure they'd become competent members of Fireclan with pride. 
Emberpaw, Honeypaw, Hornetpaw, and Tawnypaw had the same experience in apprenticeship-- Emberpaw quickly picked up on fighting techniques. His lithe build specifically allowed for quick swipes, agile dodging, and his strength only lent him more advantages. He took a special interest in this area of his apprenticeship, trying to excel and focus there rather than his hunting. There were many stiff conversations with his mentor about how hunting was important as well, but he still zeroed in on his fighting. 
Emberpaw was close to ending his apprenticeship when he joined a patrol with his father and his sister, Honeypaw. It involved checking the Twolegplace border, and three huge, loose dogs attacked their patrol. The end came with lethal results-- Pearfall and Honeypaw had been killed. 
Traumatized, he was shepherded back to camp and comforted by his siblings and his mother. They mourned and they mourned much past the vigil. 
Emberpaw was soon made a warrior after his family's deaths. It took a long, long time, but he slowly regained his bright demeanor. Luckily, he had his remaining family members to support him, and it helped his recovery considerably. Ever since, though, he's kept a particularly close eye on his family members, anxious that he could lose them again someday. 
The story behind his scars goes like this-- a dog, of the same breed that killed his family, wandered onto Fireclan territory. Emberstep had been on a hunting patrol with his brother, Tawnybird, and he had wandered away, pursuing a squirrel. Upon seeing a dog so like the ones who had so much to do with his past, he brashly, in a heat of desperation, attacked it. The fight was so clearly unfair that he was beat badly, the patrol rushing to his rescue just after his underbelly had been exposed and carved by the dog's teeth. Luckily, he survived, but  the scars stay with him as a reminder.
