Embergaze || DuskClan
Age: 34 moons
Gender: Tom
Rank: Warrior
Clan: DuskClan
Appearance:
flaming red tom with deep amber eyes and a white muzzle.
he’s not quite as lanky as your average duskclanner, but he doesn’t break barriers in his size. while his brother is a goliath, embergaze is a comfortable average, a little bulkier than most of his clanmates. his muscles ripple under a generous coat of long fur, and his long legs make him tall if not wide. his stature wouldn’t bother him if it weren’t for redwood, who always seemed to dwarf him, but knowing that he can beat his brother in a fight keeps him from feeling too inadequate.
fur like the brightest, most terrifying, most destructive of flames coats his entire body, and flows like a river of flame around his legs and tail. he looks as though he would find himself more comfortable in the forest than on the plains, but long hair seems to run in the family. he is red like his mother, and bears the same fiery coat that she does, although his is noticeably longer.
amber eyes, stern, solid, stoic. they gaze at you from within the flame of his pelt and hide the pain deeper than is perceptible.
Personality:
embergaze is incredibly detail-oriented. he can find something interest in small things, like a bug or a flower or even the ground. his attention to detail gives him an advantage in hunting, because he is good at taking note of almost any movement. it also lends him to a sort of obsession, however, particularly about things that have happened. he goes over each detail of the night his parents died, thinking if he could have done something small to change the outcome, though he knows it doesn’t matter.
loneliness is a relatively new friend to embergaze. he used to have loving parents. since the patrol, he and redwood have grown apart and he feels utterly alone. he doesn’t have many friends because he was so close to his brother, and his hypersensitivity makes it hard for him to make new relationships. embergaze does not know how to express his sadness and loneliness constructively, so he acts out. what he really wants is to have a better relationship with his brother, but he doesn’t know how to get from where they are to where he wants them to be.

History:
born to a happy family, he now grieves the loss of her parents.
cloudfeather and ravenstrike were all you could hope for in parents. Ravenstrike was strong and loyal, an exemplary warrior respected by the clan for his courage and commitment. cloudfeather was fast and smart, an excellent battle strategist and tireless worker. when they decided to have kits, everyone knew that their children would be beautiful and lovely. and they were. redkit and emberkit had the benefit of loving parents, and in their first moons, they grew close to their parents and to one another.
they were birds of a feather. redkit was the larger of the two, but emberkit was faster, like his mother. they spent their days play-fighting with one another, chasing each other around the camp, and listening to the stories of grandeur that the elders told. they could not have been happier. they would sneak out in the middle of the night at emberkit’s request to gaze at the stars together, talking about when they would be warriors. those first few moons were the happiest that could be imagined. everything was perfect. nothing could stop the two of them, they dynamic duo. nothing could rip away their joy. until it did.
it was a normal day, until the cats got back from a patrol, the patrol. cloudfeather had fallen in a badger den, and ravenstrike fell in trying to get her out. when redpaw and emberpaw were informed redpaw hid away from other cats as much as possible, while emberpaw played it off while comforting bramblepaw. To him, it was more important she was happy, as his silent love for her was overprotective in a way.
warrior ceremony. something normally amazing, was quite sad for embergaze. redwood would only shoot him angry glares, refusing to speak to him since their parents died. but for embergaze it was also... somewhat exciting. he waited a few moons, his friendship growing with brokenflower, falling even more madly in love with her. around 30 moons, he finally gained the confidence to ask brokenflower to be his mate. let me tell you embergaze was a nervous wreck, he was so undeniably happy when she accepted, the happiest you’ve ever seen him after his parents died. he loved her, even though he’s still not comfortable enough to tell her how he’s felt after his parents died, and the memory still haunts him.
