Fallowpaw nudged Willowpaw, shushing her. "I would like something to eat!" she chirped, "That dove looks juicy."

Willowpaw chuckled and moved to pluck up the dove, mumbling around it, "Wanna share?" She set it at her sister's paws, purring.

"Sure!" Fallowpaw mewed, "It is pretty big."

Hawksky meandered near the entrance of the medicine den, casually waiting for Tulipsnow.

Jadepaw flicked her tail "Alright, let's get something to eat" she purred towards Bramblepaw, Leafpaw, Tansypaw and Coalpaw.

Tulipsnow rolled her eyes. "That's why we change it now," she prompted her mentor. "Should I go out and get some, or not bother?"

Bramblepaw glanced at Riverswoop. He shrugged. "Fine. C'mon." He herded the rest of the apprentices to the fresh kill pile, away from His Older Brother The Warrior:tm:. 


Coalpaw shook his head at Tansypaw when they were walking away, taking a horrified expression. "N-NO!" He practically shouted, blushing harder when he saw cats looking at him. He lowered his voice. "S-She'll r-reject me! I-I don't want t-to lose her a-as a friend!

Jadepaw shook her head "C'mon Coalpaw, Tansypaw, we've spoken about this enough" She purred, her stomach growling "I want to get something to eat"

“Ok, ok, don’t get your tail in a twist.” Tansypaw snorted, amused as his reaction. She nodded at Jadepaw, shaking her fur. “I’m feeling like a nice rabbit, what about you guys?”

Jadepaw fluffed out her fur "I think rabbit would be good, too" She purred 

Leafpaw trotted up to the trio, "I would love some birds, honestly" he muttered quietly.

Bramblepaw nodded in agreement with Leafpaw. "How about we get a bird and a rabbit?"

Coalpaw nodded with both the suggestions. "I-I've already a-ate. I'm n-not hungry."

Whispermist paused from where he was talking to some random warriors, his eyes seeking out his apprentice. He stood, nodding to the warriors with respect and walked over to Coalpaw. “Coalpaw?” He asked, looking at his apprentice, quenching his anxiety down as he noticed how many apprentices there were. “I want to talk to you, if that’s ok with you.”

"Go ahead," he sighed, "If you seem so sure about it.."
Fallowpaw perked up as the other apprentices approached the freshkill pile.

Coalpaw turned around and melted into his mentor's prescence. His stutter dropped as he was talking to his second dad mentor. "Yes! Whispermist! Talk!" and with that he quickly padded away with him until they were out of sight of the other apprentices.

Bramble stared at his good friend weirdly before shrugging and going back to eating.

Jadepaw laughed "Bramblepaw, would you like to share a rabbit?" She asked with a slight mutter

Whispermist chuckled. He paused when they were out of earshot and looked at his son apprentice. “Are you ok? You looked overwhelmed.” He asked his apprentice, worry for him flowing through.

Bramblepaw's eyes lit up with mischievousness. "Sure, my darling Jadepaw. My, does rabbit blood look absolutely delightful on you. It brings out your dazzling eyes," he purred, still slightly monotone but licking his lips and slowlyyyy taking a bite out of the rabbit between her paws.

Coalpaw shivered. "They k-kept asking me q-questions! I-I told t-them who I l-liked b-because I was s-so nervous b-but I barely k-know T-Tansypaw and L-Leafpaw so I w-was really u-uncomfortable." he rambled, staring at his feet and flattening his ears. "T-This is w-why I don't w-want to go t-to the g-gathering. E-Everyone's g-gonna judge m-me." he stuttered out, tears welling up in his eyes. "A-And I'm a c-crybaby! And I-I don't wanna d-do somethin' s-stupid in f-front of the l-leaders! I d-don't wanna look l-like a m-m-m-mousebrain!"

Whispermist’s eyes harden as he looks over to the apprentices, before touching Coalpaw’s head with his nose. “No one judges you. And if they do, I will rip their ears off, ok?” He asked his apprentice, before sighing. “Some cats are like that, not noticing when you need to get away. You just have to deal with them and sometimes it’s the hardest thing you have to do. Your not a mouse-brain, nor a failure or a crybaby. Hey, remember when you caught that massive hare the other day? Not all apprentices can do that, which means your not a mouse-brain.”

Jadepaw rolled her eyes "Haha, very funny" she said with a slight snark in her voice, although she followed it with a purr. She bit down on the rabbit, enjoying the taste.

Coalpaw felt a few tears drip down his face, before letting out a watery laugh. He leaned into the touch and hiccuped, bringing a paw up to his eyes and rubbing them gingerly. "S-Sorry. B-But that r-rabbit was p-pretty big huh?" he mumbled, eyes lightening at the memory. "E-Even Forestpaw c-couldn't catch one a-as huge!" he laughed, still crying just a bit. He quieted. "I w-wish Forestpaw w-wasn't so m-mean all the t-time..."

“Don’t apologise, it’s not your fault.” Whispermist told his apprentice, before his eyes sought out Forestpaw. “They will come around, Coalpaw, it just takes time.”

Willowpaw seemed to shrink closer to Fallowpaw as the other apprentices came over, biting into the dove she was sharing with the other she-cat.

Tulipsnow purred gently, dipping her head and calling over her shoulder. "Don't forget to eat before the Gath-" she walked straight into something, stepping back in surprise and taking a moment to realise who it was. "Oh, goodness, I'm so sorry Hawksky!"

Sunpaw, who was sitting a few tail-lengths away from the other apprentices, saw her sister Tansypaw and padded to her. She purred happily, sitting next to her but choosing not to eat as she was not hungry. She then glanced over at her mentor, Hawksky and twitched her whiskers in amusement before turning her attention back to her sister.

"Tulipsnow!" Hawksky yelped, "Hi, wasn't expecting to see you around here!" he cursed inwardly as he realized how stupid he sounded.

Fallowpaw nudged Willowpaw and wrapped her tail around her sister comfortingly, nodding hellos to the other apprentices.

Tulipsnow snorted a little. "Are you okay, Hawksky?" 

Wisteriakit yawned and sighed, looking up at her mother. "Can we go play?"

"Yeah, I'm fine," he mewed, trying to sound casual, "How about you? What did you do today? Find any cool flowers?"

"Yeah, I gathered a few herbs." Tulipsnow tried not to purr too loudly. "Look, do you want to gather some moss with me?"

"Now? Right now? Isn't the gathering tonight?" Hawksky mewed, tilting his head.

Tansypaw grinned as her sister came over, ears perking up. She grabbed a rabbit off the pile and dragged it to lay in front of them, sitting down near her sister after she did so. “You excited?” She asked with a purr. “I think we have a real chance of going this moon.”

“I am, but not with the amount of cats who will be there.” Sunpaw answered her, clawing away the fur of the fur of the rabbit before she dug into it. Deciding to eat if her sister was going to.

Tulipsnow nodded a little awkwardly. "I mean, we can go tomorrow if you don't want to leave now?" She tried not to show how much she was cursing herself internally.

Riverswoop picked up a fat pigeon, padding towards the nursery. "Hello?" he called softly.

Kindleflame lifted her head from her paws with a yawn, nodding to Wisteriakit finally. "You can, yes. Just be careful. Don't get under the paws of the warriors," she purred, then looked up at Riverswoop. "Hello Riverswoop."

Shimmerkit perked up and squealed, leaping at Riverswoop. "Dad!"

Riverswoop pretended to stumble, purring and dropping the pigeon. "Oh no! A fierce warrior!" 
Wisteriakit immediately joined in, grabbing her father's tail and gnawing at it.

"Two of them! We're gonna get you, Dad, I mean, enemy!" Shimmerkit let out a playful battle cry and batted at her father's face, rearing up onto her hind legs. 

Kindleflame purred in amusement, rising from her nest to sit near the entrance of the nursery, watching over them with soft blue eyes.

"Oh, it's fine! If you want to go now, I mean," Hawksky mewed, "I was just, are we allowed to, or...?"

Tulipsnow looked up at the sky, frowning for a second, then at the shadows it cast along the ground. "Maybe tomorrow might be best..."

"I...oh. Um, okay," Hawksky mewed, face drooping a little.

Fallowpaw watched the kits play outside the nursery and purred.

Coldfoot padded towards the exit of the medicine den to see what was going on outside, then stopped as he heard Hawksky talking to his apprentice.

"That's okay," Tulipsnow purred gently. "Are you coming to the Gathering?" 

Wisteriakit tried to mimic her sister but dissolved into purrs of laugher, falling on her side.

"I don't think so," he sighed, "I think I'll stay behind, go to sleep early, join dawn patrol maybe,"

Heatherdawn clamped her jaws around a yawn, looking around the camp and purring gently at the calmness that laid over them. Perhaps leafbare will be kind to us this year, she thought, watching Sootpaw as he made his way to the fresh kill pile and took a small blackbird.

Shimmerkit laughed and dropped down herself, her tail swaying against the ground. Kindleflame chose then to pad out, the pigeon Riverswoop had brought dangling from her jaws. The queen touched her nose to her mate's cheek, then settled down by him, placing the pigeon by their paws. 

Willowpaw licked her muzzle clean and nudged the rest of the dove to her sister, then looked up at the sky as it darkened. "I wonder when Robinstar is going to say who's going to the gathering," she mewed, nudging Fallowpaw. "Hopefully we both get to go!"

Scorchthicket picked up a bird for himself, laying down and plucking the feathers. He bit into it, watching over the camp while patiently waiting for Robinstar to emerge and announce who was going to the gathering. His gaze flicked to Tigerstorm briefly, wondering if his fellow deputy was just as anxious as he was over it all.

Fallowpaw nodded, "I can't wait! Do you think we'll meet anyone cool?"

"I don't know. Maybe?" Willowpaw shrugged and flicked her tail. "I just hope they aren't mean," she meowed, rising to her paws and stretching out.

Riverswoop purred softly, intent on distracting the kits. "I heard you helped clean out the den today?" he asked.
Wisteriakit nodded, bouncing around. "We got to rip up the old moss!"

"Oh no! What if we make friends and then have to fight them later?" Fallowpaw squeaked, "I don't want to hurt any of my friends..."

Kindleflame chuckled while Shimmerkit pouted. "Wisteriakit got old moss all over me and mom wouldn't let me go around with it in my pelt," the small tortoiseshell complained, stomping a tiny paw. Her mother simply shook her head in amusement, plucking the feathers from the pigeon.

"I don't think that'll happen, Fallowpaw." Willowpaw shook her head and snorted. "And if it does, clan comes first. Just keep that in mind."

Hickoryshadow padded up to his mate, a rabbit locked between his jaw. He placed it down, and touched his nose to her shoulder in greeting. "Have you eaten yet?" his words were soft.

Bramblepaw padded away from the apprentices to search for his mentor. When he spotted the deputy, he padded up to him. "Do you think Robinstar will call the meeting soon?"

Mistypad blinked her eyes open, her ears twitching as she overheard the swarming talk of the gathering coming up. Stretching her paws, and letting out a deep yawn, she finally decided to heave herself up onto her small paws, and padded out the elder's den. Taking a moment to enjoy the calm evening air, she scanned the camp, her blue eyes twinkling with amusement as she noticed the kits playing. She flicked her tail tip, making her way over the fresh-kill pile to find something to eat. Hopefully I'll get to attend the gathering. More drama and stories to hear from the other clans! She thought to herself excitedly.

Scorchthicket looked down at Bramblepaw and sighed. "I honestly don't know, Bramblepaw," he mewed, sitting down and curling his tail around his paws. "She needs to so we don't end up late to the gathering." His tail tip twitched and he shook his head.
