"What about the dog?" Martenstrike asked.

"Any sane animal would've scarpered by now," Finchstar glanced at Martenstrike. "We can keep an eye out for it on border patrols and such."

Martenstrike rolled his eyes then padded to the warriors den, settling down in his nest and drifting off to sleep.

Tanglepath slunk into the nursery towards Littledawn. "Are your kits alright?" he mewed.

Littledawn glanced up at Tanglepath and nodded. "They're fine, just startled. These quakes aren't exactly easy on them," she meowed, moving so the medicine cat could see the three kits. Havenkit was busy searching through his fur for thorns, but seemed to ultimately come up with nothing.

Finchstar looked around at his clanmates, satisfied that everyone there was okay, and turned. "Timberblaze and Thorntail! We can check on the cats that have gone hunting."

Timberblaze glanced up and nodded. "Sounds good," he meowed and padded to his leader's side. Everyone seemed alright, and he hoped it was the same for those out on patrol.

"What about the one that wandered off earlier?" Tanglepath inquired, "A brush with death probably wasn't fun, now was it?"

"I imagine not. I believe he's learned his lesson." Littledawn glanced down at Havenkit, who froze under the attention. He shuffled his paws and nodded slowly, sinking back into his mother's fur.

Tanglepath snorted. "Try to keep a closer eye on our Clan's future warriors, alright?" he mewed, padding out of the nursery.

Thorntail padded up to Timberblaze and Finchstar, his fur prickling. "I swear I can still hear the rumbling from that earthquake," he mewed.
Finchstar's whiskers twitched lightly. "We're all on edge, Thorntail, it's underst-" He was cut off by another violent jolt, the cracking of the earth beneath his paws revealing a heat he'd never felt before. "Move move move!" he yowled to his Clanmates.

Tanglepath felt his heart leap into his throat as the earth beneath him lurched and heat seemed to rise from below his paws.
"The volcano!" he gasped. He rushed to the clearing of camp to Finchstar, heart drumming, "We have to evacuate camp! Get down to the river!" he yowled.

Martenstrike began his sprint from camp, then stopped abruptly, conscious weighing on him, and turned to run back to the nursery. "Littledawn!" he called.

Nettlepaw yelped and ran towards the entrance, scrambling not to lose his balance as the loose peat on the floor crumbled.

Littledawn was ushering her kits out, Melodykit grasped in her jaws. Her panicked eyes flicked up to meet Martenstrike's while Timberblaze rushed over and grasped Havenkit in his jaws. The large ginger tom heeded Littledawn's hurried snaps at him, and he darted out of camp while she tried to push Seedkit to go faster. 

Darkpetal shoved her clanmates towards the camp exit, green eyes panicked and her ebony fur fluffed. As the crack in the earth expanded however, she slipped, claws catching at the edge. Bushberry attempted to help, but both she-cats ended up tumbling into the crevice. 

Ivyfire went to Glowingstream as the medicine cat apprentice tried to help, pretty fur coated in a layer of grime.

Martenstrike joined at her side, trying to scoop up Seedkit in his jaws. 

Nettlepaw watched his Clanmates get swallowed by the earth with a dismayed yowl, cut off by a crackling roar coming from somewhere up the mountain.

Cloudscorch ran into the apprentices den, shoving every cat out of the sliding camp. "Go!" she screeched, eyes wide in terror.

Leopardpaw suddenly thanked SoulClan for her agile nature and darted towards the exit of camp.

Flintpaw scrambled, but felt the ground open beneath him. He tried to hook his claws on the edge, just so that he wouldn't fall, but with a screech of "HELP!" he was engulfed.

Floralight scrambled her way towards the exit, eyes glued to Finchstar's form.

Frozencall watched his mate be engulfed a second before he succumbed to the same fate.

Nettlepaw felt an unfathomable heat at his paws and let out a cry, tumbling into the soil as a flow of scorching mud buried him.

Leopardpaw screeched as Nettlepaw was buried, bumping into Floralight as they stumbled away from the smell of burning flesh.

Coldstream was trying to help the elders run, but was so absorbed in her efforts that she slipped off the edge, soon followed by Crimsonfang.

Cindercatcher was submerged in hot mud as he scrambled to leave the den.

Floralight looked out to the deaths of her clanmates. "No..." she breathed, chest twisting.

Glowingstream darted toward Flintpaw, trying to catch him with Ivyfire only for both she-cats to fall into the earth, the medicine cat apprentice going with a panicked shriek. 

Stormcrest went to aid Cloudscorch, pressing his side to hers and meeting her eyes with his own wide, terrified ones.

Littledawn squinted as they neared the exit, passing Melodykit to Martenstrike. "Get her out of here!" She snapped.

Martenstrike nodded, grabbing Melodykit and bursting out of camp. He slid part of the way down the slope on the slippery pine needles then regained his balance, heading down towards the river at their border.

Fernpaw stood petrified as the earth began to open up beneath him. He darted towards the exit of the camp, nimbly avoiding the pockets of scorching heat.

Doespring screeched, reaching out for her clanmates. Oh SoulClan, why? They're all dying! Before she knew it, she was too jolted into the hot mud and dirt to join the flesh of her clan below.

Brindlestripe cried out. "SoulClan help up! Hawkstep, where are you?" She couldn't leave without him. She scanned the utter chaos of the FireClan camp. Kits, apprentices, elders, warriors, all dying.

Hawkstep had been taking a nap, sharply breathing after a long time spent chasing some prey. But suddenly, the ground jolted forward, and he leaped up, hackles raised. He immediately sprinted out of his den and into the camp clearing, where absolute chaos unfolded before his eyes. He watched Doespring collapse into the earth, who had just been on a patrol with only yesterday, his fellow denmate Crimsonfang slide into the ground. He couldn't suppress a gasp as he quickly scanned the camp for his mate, Brindlestripe. At the sound of her cries, he darted to her, eyes wide. "We need to get out of here. Now!" he yowled, pushing her towards the exit of camp.

Melodykit could barely hear a thing. She scrunched her eyes shut, letting herself be jolted around in Martenstrike's protective grip as they slid out of camp.

Brindlestripe ran alongside her mate, glancing back at her home. It was torn apart like a dog rips into a cat's hide... What would they do?

Littledawn was frozen from seeing Seedkit go, but she couldn't stick around when she had two other kits needing her. With a sob, she leaped out of the camp entrance and ran after Martenstrike and Timberblaze.

"Towards the river!" Finchstar yowled, streaking ahead to lead the group of panicked cats to safety.

Timberblaze was hot on his leader's heels, Littledawn close behind him, still struggling with having lost one of her kits.
