Finchstar's tail fluffed. "We leave when the shadows reach the camp entrance," he motioned to the spiked shade from the pines, three tail lengths from the edge of camp.

Flintpaw nodded at Nettlepaw, glancing at his brother again. "My first gathering... what if the apprentices don't like me?" he scrunched up his nose in thought.

Leopardpaw lightened at the offer. "Really?" Excitement laced her voice, before she paused. "My first gathering was a disaster... Maybe it is better that I don't go.." her ears flattened slightly, but she grinned at her mentor none-the-less.

Darkpetal rolled her eyes at the idea of going to the gathering. The slender she-cat rose to her paws and padded to the fresh kill pile, eyeing a mouse that had been dropped onto it. She shrugged, picked it up, and wandered over to a secluded spot to settle down, biting into her prey.

Ivyfire distantly picked up on the worries of her apprentice, and she glanced over at Flintpaw, ears twitching. She rose to her paws and padded over, nudging him lightly. "I'm sure they'll love you," she mewed.

Coldstream watched her sister carefully, before deciding to pad over with a mouse of her own. She sat down beside Darkpetal, eyes glazed over in thought. "How have you been?"

Blackpaw smiled at his brother, still glaring at Nettlepaw sideways. He nodded to Ivyfire, before speaking. "You'll be fine, Flintpaw. You have Littlelily and I with you." He smiled.
Littlelily moved towards her adopted kits, sitting down next to them and smiling at them. "Finally, we are going to a gathering together. I need to find Snowfall and make sure he is fine staying behind. You know how he gets when there's no one around that he knows well."

Cloudscorch rolled her eyes. "Typical," she muttered, going back to her spot to continue eating.

Thorntail padded over to Nettlepaw. "Excited?" he purred.

Nettlepaw shrugged and licked his paw, running it over his ear. "I suppose so. Meeting apprentices from other Clans might be fun."

"I'm sure you'll get chosen next time," Martenstrike reassured her, "I doubt Finchstar even remembers."

Filntpaw yawned. "I'm hungry. Let's eat something." He nudged Blackpaw.

Fawnpaw frowned in disappointment after Finchstar finished with the announcement. He noticed the group of apprentices, his denmates, speaking about the gathering and huffed loud enough for them to hear. "When do I get to go?" He complained, pawing at the grass in a sulking manner.

Darkpetal's ears twitched when she heard her apprentice whining, and she rolled her green eyes in exasperation. Might as well try to comfort the pest. She rose to her paws and padded over to Fawnpaw, nudging his shoulder. "It's not the worst thing, Fawnpaw. Honestly, gatherings aren't all they're made out to be."

Leopardpaw brightened, trotting over to the fresh kill pile and picking out two mice. One was obviously bigger. She ran back over to Martenstrike and set them down before digging into the smaller one. "What do you think the new BrightClan leader's like?" she asked, her words mumbled behind mouse fur.

Finchstar watched over the Clan with a slightly fluffed tail, not realising what the time was yet until he finally focused again. "Oh, we should...leave..." he stood, mumbling to nobody in particular.

Willowperch flicked her tail, and turned towards Cindercatcher "I envy the younger cats sometimes," She let out a slight chuckle "Although I'm glad I don't have to clean this den anymore."

Agatepaw slowly padded out, it was his first gathering, and with his crooked jaw, he was afraid of the other apprentices rejecting him as his fellow apprentices did.

Hesitating at her leader's absence, Doespring waiting for a moment but followed her clanmates out of camp. A prickle of anxiety started at the back of her skull. What if the other clans were hostile towards the new leaders?

Timberblaze pushed himself to his paws, shaking some moss from his russet fur. He approached Hollypaw and gently nudged her side, purring in greeting. "Martenstrike, can Hollypaw and I accompany you?" He called to the other warrior, flicking one of his ears.

Lionstream limped around camp, pacing, before sitting down and deciding to get something to eat.

Fernpaw, having been awakened by the chattering outside, groggily stepped out of the apprentice's den to see what was the commotion. He looked blanky around the camp before seeing the cats talking, not fully able to process their words just yet as he was still quite sleepy.

Fawnpaw raised his lowered head, his ears perking up as Darkpetal nudged him gently. He tilted his head, unable to believe his mentor's words as he looked up at her. "R-really? But... then why are all the other apprentices so excited about it?" He asked, his mint-green eyes widening with an itching curiosity.

Milknose grunted, his tall ears twitching. "What's with all the fuss?" He mewed, although a cough interrupted it half way. He flicked his tail, ignoring the coughing fit and peered up at the skyrock. "Ah, is it that time of the moon already?" He questioned, padding close by to the other two elders, Willowperch and Cindercatcher.

"I guess," Fernpaw shrugged, "but maybe our mentors will take us to go do something. If they're not asleep." His lethargic state told him he should go back to the den, but Fernpaw honestly felt like doing something right now. He had started to envy the action all the others cats' lives were filled with, and for once he had some incentive to try and seek out something- anything that breaks the monotony of his current routine. Fernpaw knew this feeling would be gone next morning, so he wanted to make the most of this rare spark of motivation.

Littledawn padded slowly from the nursery, stretching out slowly in the moonlight. She glanced back as Havenkit scrambled after her, stumbling over his paws. Her eyes softened and she leaned down, rasping her tongue between his ears with an affectionate purr. He batted lightly at his mother, parting his tiny jaws in a yawn.

Shadowrunner stretched her long legs, itching to go out into the forest. She wanted to head out on a hunting trip, although it seemed as though a patrol had already left. The lean-muscled she-cat padded over the warrior's den, poking her head in. Usually she'd go by herself, but she was feeling a bit more social today. Perhaps it was the fact that most of the irritating apprentices had gone to the gathering, or maybe that she didn't have to attend it at all. "Anyone want to go on a short night-hunt?" She questioned into the warriors den.

Fernpaw paced back and forth for a bit and thought about what he should do, since he was pretty much awake at this point. After pondering his options, he walked back over to Ebonypaw and asked "Hey, do you think we'd be able to sneak out to the gathering?"

Lionstream and Stealthwater stared at the ground, watching it move, before bolting towards the nursery, knowing they must protect the kits.

Ebonypaw laughed at Fernpaw's remark before a quake suddenly hit the clan "Um, what should we do?" Her lemon-yellow eyes were laced with fear "We should probably help the queens, right?"

Scarletwing was awoken by aggressive shaking, as she looked towards Lionstream and Stealthwater "What's going on?" She remarked, her ego disappearing for a bit "Can I do anything to help?"
