MTS Quarry | The Shimmering Cave

Around the Shimmering Cave’s entrance is a large, old forest known as the Strange Forest due to the way that it lights up at night. Fireflies and bioluminescent mushrooms which look unassuming during the day create a pale, ethereal glow at night, however they are rather poisonous if ever consumed. Due to this, smaller prey is active at nighttime more than during the day as they feel safer, even though foxes and badgers also roam the forest at night.
A series of small streams track through the forest but don’t hold any fish as they are too shallow. Smaller plants grow around, including important herbs, and prey of all sizes are abundant.

Inside the cave is a similar story, however the roof of the water-laden cave seems to be dotted with small pinpricks of stars, visible even when it is day outside. The walls are lined with cloudy white streaks, almost parallel to each other, and when the light hits them they shimmer a brilliant gold.
