The warrior whipped her head around, amber eyes looking like twin moons as she stared at him. "W- Wha.... They're gone?"
Dapplepaw frowned nervously. "Whisperspirit and Silverleaf went looking for you.... t- they never came back."

Russetstar gave Dapplepaw a disapproving sideways glance, then stared at Poppyfall calmly. He was trying to appear collected on the matter, but her panic had made him all kinds of torn up inside. He almost felt like he had let her down by not protecting her parents, not stopping them from looking for her...then again, would he have stopped, if the clan hadn't had to leave home? "It wasn't your fault, Poppyfall." He mewed softly.

Poppyfall frowned and looked at her paws, her ears flattening against her head. "Who else?"
"Just them" Dapplepaw assured with a soft smile. "Rowanwhisker and Saffronflame are okay, and of course Ivypaw and I too."

Rosepaw hissed. "Russetstar and the rest of you, shut up! This cat needs help and your conversation is hindering me from helping her." The ginger and white little apprentice shot them all looks before she dropped an assortment of herbs at Poppyfall's feet.

Russetstar gave a little sheepish smile, then froze as he realized that Rosepaw had said his name.

Poppyfall sighed and ate them with a muttered thanks before glancing up at Russetstar.
Dapplepaw and Ivypaw glanced at each other again then back at their sister.

Rosepaw observed Poppyfall chewing and nodded. "That will help with your cough. Is there anything else I should know about? You don't seem to have any cuts or bruises." Her eyes scanned Poppyfall.

Russetstar took a deep breath as an attempt at calming himself. "Musicstar died." He repeated in the flat tone he did earlier. He didn't really feel like getting into the details of that. "Twolegs tore up our home. We went to CloudClan... Viperstar," He said the former CloudClan leader's name venomously. "Offered us shelter. He really just wanted to use us in his evil plot to take over the forest... You've missed a lot."

"Other than pains from walking and being hungry for a wile, nothing major." She turned back to Russetstar and nodded. "I see, I'm not surprised, it's been several moons."

Russetstar looked at the apprentices. "Fetch something for your sister to eat."

Rosepaw nodded and left some more herbs. "If you feel your energy waning, eat some of those. Not all at once though or you'll get a tummy ache." She left quickly after that with the unused herbs.

The two apprentices nodded and hurried away to the fresh-kill pile, looking for the juiciest piece.
"Thank you so much..." she trailed off, taking a bit of the herbs.

Russetstar took a deep breath and got to his feet. He walked past her, taking the time to touch her shoulder with his tail tip as he passed. He wanted to stay... but it was just too awkward between them at the moment. Besides, the clan would be wondering who this new cat was.

She watched him go with a sigh before the two apprentices reappeared with the biggest squirrel they could manage. "Ah, thank you both." she smiled gratefully and bit into the fresh-kill, savoring the taste with a happy sweep of her tail.

Russetstar followed the apprentices back inside. "Actually, no... I need to talk to you. Alone." He gave the apprentices an apologetic smile.

"Don't worry Dapplepaw, it's probably important, and Poppyfall needs to rest anyway."
Poppyfall flicked her ears. "I'll come see you two later okay?"
The brown tabby sighed but agreed and walked away with Ivypaw in tow.

Grasspaw mumbled at how long Morningpaw had been treating to Boulderpaw. She just pushed Mintapple away and followed an unfamiliar scent. She didn't dare to follow it no more, since it entered the leaders den, yet she wondered who the new cat was..
Hmmm.... I wonder who that is..? A rogue that Russetstar had made friends with, perhaps? Interesting.. the little she-cat thought, flicking her tail and walking away to the fresh-kill pile, forgetting about the new smell that lingered throughout camp.

Russetstar closed his eyes in contentment. Oh how he'd missed his black she-cat - that's right, his. They'd never been exclusive, but he wasn't going to let her slip through his paws again. "Don't disappear again..." He murmured in a pained tone.

Poppyfall smirked and touched her nose to his, gazing at him with mischief in her eyes. "Should the leader be acting this soft?" even though her words held teasing intent, her voice cracked in the middle of the sentence. She still couldn't believe that so much had changed and that she wouldn't see Musicstar or her parents anymore.

Morningpaw yawned and padded out of the medicine cats den. She had let Boulderpaw rest for a while, and went to join Grasspaw by the fresh-kill pile. She made no eye contact, and instead just snatched a blackbird and went to sit in a corner of camp, nibbling on it ferociously.
Grasspaw had only just finished her mouse, and then went to take a nap in the sun. She would go hunting later.

Poppyfall nodded and stood. "With how many new cats there seem to be, I'm not surprised. We should get that out of the way first and foremost." she explained, shaking out her fur. Now that she was home and didn't have to worry about walking to find her way anymore, she felt a little better.

Lionpaw had just finished a nap and headed forwards the fresh kill pile she grabbed a mouse and looked around camp, she saw morning paw in the corner of camp and joined her. "How are you, I think of going on a hunting patroll later if i can". She said and nibbled her mouse

Grasspaw saw the leader and the unfamiliar coming out of the den, and she immediately got up once she overheard Russetstar say he's handing out mentors.
Morningpaw looked up at Lionpaw, first glancing back at Grasspaw, then back to him.
"Sure, I guess! Boulderpaw will still be resting for a while, anyway." she mewed softly and gently.

Poppyfall stiffened and whipped around to face him once more. "Are you sure that's such a good idea...?" she asked timidly, her whiskers quivering. "What if they don't trust me since I just kinda... appeared out of no where?"
Dapplepaw, Oceanpaw, and Starpaw crouched at the side of the clearing before leaping into a mock-fight, batting at each other.

Russetstar chuckled and licked her shoulder as an attempt to calm her down. "Yes, I'm sure it's fine," He murmured into her ear. "It's not like everyone doesn't know you, remember? Your sisters are here and are loyal members of the clan, just as you are."

"I suppose that's true... If you think then it's a good idea then I'll be happy to accept an apprentice." She dipped her head respectfully, a warm feeling prickling in her paws. Maybe things could go back to normal despite the changes.

Oceanbreeze caught sight of her and smiled, pulling Dapplepaw with her toward the warrior.
Dapplepaw blinked and hurried over to her sister, a happy smile on her face.

Russetstar padded to Smoothrock and leapt up, his claws scraping the grey stone on the way. "All cats old enough to climb to the Outlook please gather for a meeting!" He called out clearly.

Poppydawn padded out of the medicine den, taking a spot next to her sister and exchanging a few whispered words with Sorrelflight.
Beekit bounced up and down next to Sorrelflight, eager for the meeting to get started.

Lilytail came to sit on the other side of Beekit, smiling down at her niece.

My cats gather. Some of them through curious glances toward the tattered newcomer, raising their eyebrows.

Russetstar watched his clan gather with pride. "As you may see, we have a new cat among us. LeafClan cats may remember her. Her name is Poppyfall, sister to Saffronflame, Dapplepaw and Ivypaw." He nodded to each cat as he said their name. He hesitated before speaking again, letting the clan soak in that information. "She is home at last."

Birdfeather, who remembered Poppyfall well, purred and drummed her feet on the ground and meowed her approval.

Sorrelflight let out a little breath, shushing Beekit when she frowned and opened her mouth to ask who that was.

Foxpaw sat next to Fennecpaw, his ears pricked. He had a vague memory of the she-cat, but he hadn't really known her.

Poppyfall met the tom's gaze, her amber one blazing with determination as she turned to face the cats gathered in front of her. "I promise that, despite my absence, I will work hard to show you that I am still a loyal Le-" she cut herself off and shook her head. "Duskclan warrior."
Dapplepaw purred happily while Oceanbreeze and Starpaw nodded in agreement.

Russetstar couldn't stop his tail from flicking in happiness. He'd almost added that she would be his mate onto the end of what he'd said, but decided against it. "We will also have new apprentices... Beekit, Frostkit and Thornkit, please step forward."
