Troutpaw put as many fish as he could in his mouth without gagging and piled as many as he could on the ground to push with his muzzle. The less trips, the better. He flicked his tail determinedly, showing he was ready to leave.

Sandstone followed, his fu shining on the sunlight over top. They could hear the drops of melting snow around them. Sandstone yowled as he almost slipping on ice,but recovered in time. "Whoops, gotta be careful when everything is frozen." He meowed with a mrow or amusement.

Stormleap came and paused, waiting for Shadepaw to come with him. He gazed across the frosted pond, soaking in its silent beauty.

Sandstone raised his eyebrows in amusement and looked around to make sure no cat was watching. He leaped onto the ice and slid across with his claws digging into the ice to give him a break before he face-palmed into a pile of slush.

Shadepaw delicately stepped around the clumps and bundles of snow and ice, slowly approaching his mentor.
"What are we doing today?!" he called as he gently leaped over some slush.

Shadepaw felt slightly bummed, but he was still happy to now explore the territories.

Salmonpelt snorted loudly at Sandstone. "Good job." he purred, before falling over himself, as well.

Sandstone let out a chuckle and flicked his tail. "We should get hunting." He meowed more seriously. He parted his jaws and scented the air.

Spottedpaw padded along side Sandstar here. She looked around for any sign of moss and found a patch beside a large, rotted down tree. She quickly scrambled over and started pulling it out.

Stormleap said, "This is the Small Ponds. In the summer, this is a great place to find bass and trout. Look around, and careful to not step on the ice. We're going to the sunstones when we're ready."

Shadepaw nodded eagerly and cautiously ran around the slush, eyeing Spottedkit with awe before turning and pulling a strange object from behind the rotting tree by Spottedpaw. He gazed at it and cooed, bringing it back quickly to Stormleap.
"What is this?" he asked, poking the soft object.

Spottedpaw watched Shadepaw with interest. "Vaths fewird!" She muffled between the clump of moss in her jaws. (That's weird!)
She stared at Shadepaw for a few heartbeats, studying him. Then quickly glanced away when he glanced at her. She padded over to Sandstar and dropped the moss. "Got some!" She meowed, panting for breath and spitting out pieces of loose moss that were in her mouth.

Sandstone caught the usual scent of a frog lingering nearby and couched down to catch it. He hoped for a fish, but there was no sign for the waters already had thin layers of ice on it and it was freezing.

Shadepaw shrugged and gently placed it on some slush. He jumped into a bundle of snow, chasing a slimy frog over the icy waters. He ran after it in circles until the ice broke in and he fell into the cold, cold water. He yowled and scrambled out, shaking his fur and sending droplets everywhere.

Stormleap gasped and ran over. "Are you ok?" He knew personally what water could do in cold weather. Stormleap started warming Shadepaw's chest, which was freezeing a little. "We have to go back!"

Spotteedpaw gasped as well and glanced at sandstar for help as she rushed over to shadepaw."Shadepaw!" She meowed, worrying once his mentor made it sound as of he would die.

Sandstone leaped onto the frog and nipped it a killing bite to its neck. "Frogs are gross, but at least we don't have to eat dry and furry squirrels instead of fish." He called over to salmon pelt jokingly.

Shadepaw awkwardly got up and limped away from Stormleap. He held in a giggle, but he showed the enthusiastic smile to his new mentor.
"I'm fine!" he purred, shaking out his fur some more.

Shadepaw nodded eagerly, tail flicking abruptly as he watched some warriors of SoulClan begin to appear in the evening sky. He shook his mop that he called fur one last time and started trotting happily towards camp.

Stormleap hesitated before going with Shadepaw. He really messed up today, and would fix that tomorrow. The mentor shook his head and ran back after Shadepaw.

Spottedpaw watched them leave and turned to Sandstar. "Is this moss good enough?" She meowed, tilting her head as a breeze almost blew away the clump of moss, she put her paw on it so it wouldn't be lost in the wind.

Sandstone picked up the frog and thought again about Darkcloud, he felt a sense of pain, but didn't know what it meant. I need to see Darkcloud, and my other kits! He thought, flicking his tail. "Salmonpelt, lets head back, it's getting dark!" He called over, his paws aching from the cold ice.
