"Same." Sparkfeather said then started to stalk the smell of a thrush. She flicked her tail to Timberspeck for him to go on the other side.

Timberspeck went softly to the other side, sniffing the air. He could smell thrush, but something else.. He recognised the scent but didn't know what it was. Smelt like prey though.

Sparkfeather bounded towards it but it noticed her and started to flap its wings. "No!" She shouted.

Timberspeck jumped and landed in some thorns, however, he grabbed the thrush by the wing and maganged to kill it before wriggling out of the thorns, limping over to Sparkfeather.

Timberspeck laughed before looking at his paw. "Just a scratch, nothing major." He laughed. "Looks like the thorns won the battle." He said, before placing the thrush by her paws and turning around before starting walking. There it was again. That same scent. Where did he know it from. Suddenly a hiss came out from a bush and a snake strikes, but he jumped back just in time to get away. He hissed back and stayed out of its range.

Sparkfeather immediately got into a battle crouch. "Crow-food! Fox-heart!" Sparkfeather started shouting random insults at the snake.

The snake turned towards Sparkfeathers voice. Using the distraction, Timberspeck calmly and quietly went behind it before grab it its neck and shaking it before throwing it a couple of tail lengths away.

Timberspeck trotted over to the snake and bent down to sniff it. "It's still alive, but very injured." He murmured, before snapping it's neck with a small bite. He sat down and looked at one of his paws. Great starclan. he thought, as he looked at the thorn in his paw. Ill get the medicine cats to look at it later. he thought, placing it down. "You should be named 'Preymisser.' You seem to miss prey more then you catch it." He teased.

Timberspeck purred in laughter. "It's ok, every single cat misses prey, you just have to bring enough back to feed some cats." He laughed. He looked at the snake. "Can you eat snakes?"

Sparkfeather wrinkled her nose. "Yes but it is quite disgusting." She said. She sniffed a mouse and started to stalk it.

Timberspeck looked at the snake with distaste. Maybe I could get one of the rogues to eat it. He thought jokinly. He turned and sniffed the air. He could smell vole. He crouched down.

Timberspeck nodded thoughtfully. "Maybe could feed an apprentice." He said, scraping dirt over it. He then caught a bird and a mouse, while missing a squirrel.

Sparkfeather caught two mice and a thrush. "We should be getting back to camp soon mayb-" she cut off as she saw a gleam in the ground. She picked it up. It was a small circle with rigged edges(metal bottle cap). "What is this?" She asked as it pricked her paw.

Timberspeck found himself hiding in an old badger den. The scents were stale so he knew the badger hadnt been there. He was trying not to laugh.

Timberspeck stared at her. "No one has ever said that..." He muttered. He looked into Sparkfeathers eyes. Before today, he never thought of them as beautiful. But now...

He swallowed. "I guess I feel right being here with you too..." He said smiling. "Remember when I gave you the first prey I caught?" He asked.
