The Winter Pines are the largest collection of trees in the North Wind's territory and stretch from the Shelter all the way through down the depths of the Valley, and are mostly made up of large, towering evergreens like pine, spruce, and cedar trees. Pine was the name of the cats' first true hunter, so it was his name that stuck with the forest of trees and give it his name. Most of the forest is in consistent twilight due to the sheer thickness of the branches and little light penetrating down through the canopies, so the North Wind cats have adapted to such conditions and often find it a little harder to hunt in full daylight.
Most prey found here are smaller mammals, especially in the winter, though during the summer the warmth brings birds and rabbits into the area as well.
