Thornfang smiled as he padded back to camp.
Fernpaw, Nightpaw, and Angelwing followed.
Willowkit's eyes were still wide open, but her stomach was starting to rumble.

After a few minutes, Brackenpaw hurried back as well, ignoring the dirt under his claws.

Spottedpaw padded to the sunstones, her typical i-want-to-be-alone place. She settled herself down on a rock near the edge of the forest, not putting forth the effort to climb to a better one.

Russetpaw sat near the water's edge, occasionally flicking stones into the river to disturb the current with small splashes.

Spottedpaw pricked her ears at the sound of splashing. If it's that rogue again... she picked her way up the rocks, and stopped when she saw who it was. "Why are you here?" she asked with a low hiss, narrowing her eyes.

Russetpaw whipped around, his claws out, but relaxed when he saw Spottedpaw. "Oh." he mewed simply, sitting down. "I come here when I need to think."

"Well I've never seen you here before, and I'm here more than I'm in camp." She said, and then bit her tongue, thinking she shouldn't have said that. It made it seem like she didn't want to be in the Clan.

Russetpaw flicked his tail. "I obviously don't need to think as much as you do then," he retorted scathingly. He hated being reminded of his halfClan roots.

"Maybe its because i have more things to think about." She said, her usual temper not flaring up; she didn't have the energy. "At least you don't get treated like an outsider. At least you're even part WaterClan."

Russetpaw turned back to the water. "Nobody likes a halfClan cat." he mewed simply. "Can you not see the way they look at me? How alone I am?"

"Nobody likes a non-clan cat, either." She snapped back. "They all look at me like I'm still a rogue. Maybe I should just give up on ever fitting in."

Spottedpaw noticed a flicker of movement, and flashed her paw out, her claws catching a mouse that had darted out from behind a rock. She killed it with a second flick of her claws.

Russetpaw raised an eyebrow at the challenge. He picked out a flat curved one and flicked it across the water, watching it skip across the surface three times before coming to a stop, much further than Spottedpaw's had.

Russetpaw nodded, getting to his paws. "First you have to find the right stone," he mewed, glancing around. "It needs to be flat and rounded."

Spottedpaw glanced around, and saw a flat gray stone near the water's edge. "Like this?" she scooped it up in her paw.

Russetpaw nodded. "That looks almost perfect," he smiled, grabbing another one and setting it down. "This part is hard, though. You need to have the right amount of movement to push the stone, but not shove it. Do you get it?"
