Salmonpelt flattened his ears. "I'm sure Sandstar just has a lot on his mind right now," he chimed in. "All with the alligators and flooding, it's probably why he's being more generous to the weaker cats like Feathercloud and her kits were."

Scarletpetal arrived with her group to the Duskclan/Waterclan borders, scenting the air only to smell rogue scents. She wrinkled her nose in disgust, keeping her ears open. "Nightfrost, would you mark over there, please? Take Creampaw with you." She told him, pointing to several fox-lenghts away with her nose. "Skypaw, we can mark this side of the borders. Let's hope those rogues don't show up." she then added to her apprentice.

Skypaw beamed and nodded, flexing her claws and purring. "Maybe we'll see some rogues and get to show them that they shouldn't mess with DuskClan," she cheered and bounded after Scarletpetal.

Creampaw giggled at her sister's antics, padding after Nightfrost calmly. Though really, she was hoping for a fight with something.

Nightfrost huffed a little. "The rogues are in FireClan's territory. We'd have heard about it by now if they were anywhere near us," he mumbled half to himself, marking a tree.

"That is correct, and you two were just made apprentices and have no battle training nor experience. You'll end up getting hurt more than anything." Scarletpetal mentioned, quite briskly and loud enough for the others to hear, as she marked a tree. "Once we finish here, we should show them a bit of the territory, preferably away from where the rogues were." She added, looking to everyone in turn, before resting her gaze upon Nightfrost.

“I don’t think that would be a problem. But.. you should speak with Russetstar first.” Scarletpetal mentioned, her inner sharpness and edge to her showing from her tone. She couldn’t help that part of her, having it drilled into from her former mentor. “Let’s go ahead and show them around a bit. Would you like to take the lead, Nightfrost?” She asked, glancing in his direction with curiousity.

She nodded and thought for a moment of where to go, not wanting to stay by the borders. “I haven’t been there in awhile, but are the Bird Song Trees close by? We can teach them to hunt there.” She asked him, not remembering the last time she had been there.

Creampaw blushed beneath her fur and ducked her head, her ears heating up. She shuffled her paws, looking up suddenly and trotting forward to distract them from her flustered state. "Let's go then! I know the way because my mom told me."

Skypaw tilted her head and padded after her sister. Her reaction was weird.

"Spiderpaw, language!" Jadestar snapped at her daughter, green eyes hardening as she pulled a stern expression to which Spiderpaw shrunk away from.

Autumnsky rolled her eyes. "They won't attack us. Why start a war when we're in danger of rogues?" She meowed and trotted out, managing to find a few marigold plants and gently plucking them from the ground.

Jadestar rolled her eyes and flicked her tail over her mate's ear gently. "She needs to learn to hold her tongue, Brambledusk," she mewed.

"Don't talk about me like I'm not right here," Spiderpaw huffed angrily.

Brambledusk scrambled to his paws, shaking the snow out of his pelt with a huff. He then noticed the other WaterClan cats and stiffened, trying to appear a little more put together.

Onyxpaw stood close to Spiderpaw, a little closer than she needed to be. “They smell funny.” She remarked softly so the waterclan cats couldn’t hear.

"Yes, I'm Jadestar and this is my mate, Brambledusk, as well as my kits Spiderpaw, Stagpaw, and Onyxpaw," Jadestar mewed, flicking her tail to each cat as she introduced them.
"That's because they're WaterClan cats, Onyxpaw," Spiderpaw replied softly.

Autumnsky padded forward to the border and smiled lightly. "Hello Jadestar, I'm Autumnsky, one of WaterClan's medicine cats," she purred and dipped her head, blinking in surprise as the leader followed suit.

Jadestar's eyes widened and she flattened her ears. "Oh dear, I'm so sorry to hear that. Have rogues been harming WaterClan as well? I thought they only disturbed FireClan and FrostClan territories. Unless... it was something else?" Her concern for the neighboring clan was clear, and she stepped up to the border, staying just on DuskClan's side of it. "May I help?"

“We haven’t seen any rogues since FireClan and FrostClan dragged us into their battle, but the alligator is already hard enough.” He said with a sad gaze. He pondered for a moment on her offer, then smiled. “Help would be great, a lot of the clan is super mad about staying in our temporary camp.”
