Jadestar nodded and sat down, curling her tail around her paws. "Alligator? That sounds... less than pleasant. I hope you haven't lost too many cats," she mewed and tilted her head. "How can I help?"

Brambledusk narrowed his eyes a little. We shouldn't be offering help so easily. They're still a rival Clan.

Poolglow fidgeted a little on the spot.

Sandstar sighed, purposely ignoring the offer of help for the time being. “Two cats died. Ottercreek and Otterpaw both died honorable deaths, giving up their lives so the rest of us could live to see another day.”

Jadestar's heart ached for the rival clan and she flattened her ears. "I'm so sorry.." She mewed, wanting to somehow comfort the leader but not knowing how. "They're with SoulClan now," she muttered and dipped her head, eyes closing while her tail drooped.

Sandstar looked up with a small smile. “We learned to build up on their deaths, and we have become stronger because of it.” He said shakily, trying to convince himself.

Jadestar nodded though she didn't look up from the ground. Some mother lost her kits. She took a deep, shaky breath and raised her head, anguish clear within her jade green eyes. "I'm still sorry you had to lose any cats."

Taking a deep breath out, Sandstar smiled. “So anyways, how has DuskClan been?” He said, trying to change the subject nervously.

"DuskClan has been.. difficult, but rewarding. We have many new apprentices, and we're healing quickly after the culling of Blue Fever," Jadestar stated proudly, puffing out her chest. "I'm just glad my clan is healing, and soon enough we'll be stronger than ever before."

“Glad to hear that. At least our clans haven’t been attacked by rogues, I’d rather the other clans deal with that and have my clan deal with its own problems.” Sandstar said.

"Well.. I mean, I do worry for the other clans, but I understand what you mean. Hopefully they get rid of the rogues before we're forced to be dragged into the fray," Jadestar replied and sat down, watching Spiderpaw scent the air for prey.

Autumnsky hummed softly and padded off to search for herbs, her faded brown tabby fur disappearing behind some shrubbery.

Onyxpaw looked up to Jadestar. “Are the rogues really that dangerous?” She asked.

Sandstar glanced over at Jadestar. This could be good. Maybe we can form an alliance to help eachther.

Jadestar glanced down to her daughter and softened, leaning down to lick her ear. "They are, but you won't have to deal with them. I'll protect you just like I'll protect DuskClan," she whispered.

Onyxpaw purred happily, her tail upright and flicking from side to side.

Sandstar tilted his head. “Maybe we can form an alliance. Rogues attack you, we help. Rogues attack us, you help.” He said.

Jadestar looked up in surprise. "WaterClan and DuskClan have never been allies before," she mewed. She went silent for a moment, sending a sideways glance towards her mate for help before looking at Sandstar. "I'll have to think it over. This isn't a decision I can make immediately, but I will inform you of when I do make one," she replied after a long moment of silence. "I hope you understand."

Brambledusk flicked an ear. "We should be moving on. This snow looks like it might turn into a blizzard at any moment." He glanced up at the sky briefly.

Autumnsky glanced up at Sandstar and purred, "I think DuskClan would be a good ally to have, but if Jadestar denies the offer, I can understand why." She picked up the bundle of herbs, flicking her tail and padding towards Darkshine and Poolglow.

Jadestar heaved herself to her paws and padded towards her family, nuzzling Brambledusk. "I hope I don't make the wrong choice," she mewed quietly, sounding fearful.
