A very old, very large pile of wood which Twolegs will occasionally put more or take from. The hunting is very good around here, with plenty of ground mammals and the occasional bird that dares to come to the ground to eat.
Mentors and apprentices come for the climbing practice as well as the hunting, as both are good training methods.

Cloverlily led Crowpaw here, parting through some of the wood to get to the middle of the small clearing. She scented the air and nodded, waiting for Puddlesplash and her apprentice.

Crowpaw sniffed around. "This place seems kinda empty..." she muttered, looking around and the massive piles of bark and dead trees.

"We'll be working on climbing skills and sneak attacks." Cloverlily mewed, then leaped onto Crowpaw, bowling her over.
"Fight back!" she instructed, raising a paw and hissing, pretending to be an enemy fighter.

Crowpaw shrieked and kicked out, aiming towards Cloverlily's nose.

Cloverlily rolled out the way, sending Crowpaw into the pile of wood. She stood over her, cuffing her on the ear.
"What're ya gonna do now, huh?" she joked.

Cloverlily watched Crowpaw's every moment, her nerves screaming at her to be ready.
Maybe I should go easy on her, she thought.

also they're supposed to be hunting aren't they? That's the patrol she's taken them on...

Ic: Puddlesplash watched from the edge of the clearing, flicking her tail and giving a small snort at the pair of them.

IC: Cloverlily glanced as Puddlesplash finally caught up to them. She flicked her tail at Crowpaw to pause their training and padded up to him with a purr.
"Why don't you ask Dapplestar for an apprentice? You seem a little lonely." she teased.
Ever since being appointed deputy, she was constantly cracking a part of her shy little turtle shell. She hoped Marshfeather was close by.
OOC: Isn't Marshfeather supposed to "cross a few borders to get to her"? Wink

IC: Crowpaw sniffed the air. "I think I can smell a thrush nearby and...huh, something kind of like mud?" she mewed, confused.

IC: Crowpaw wandered off towards the thrush, then spotted it perched on the branch of a juniper bush. She crouched and watched it, waiting for the perfect opportunity to catch it. Before she could catch it, she spotted movement a few fox-lengths away and froze, pricking her ear.

Crowpaw looked back to the thrush, which looked like it was preparing to take off, and sprang. Her claws grabbed the bird midair and it let out a shriek of fear. She snapped its spine then looked back at the two deputies, beaming.

"Puddlesplash! Did you see me catch that bird?" Crowpaw mewed, trying to get in front of Puddlesplash so she was forced to pay attention to her.
Marshfeather stood tensed, starting to think this may have been a bad idea. He needed away to get Cloverlily's attention without the other cats noticing.

"Okay! Do you think I could catch another? No, you're not the boss of me, that's Cloverlily!" she squeaked, turning to Cloverlily. "Should I catch more?"

"Sure!" she pricked her ears, seeing a squirrel nibbling at some blades of grass by a tall tree nearby.
She nodded at Crowpaw with a purr, telling her to get at it - and quickly. She trotted her own distance away from the patrol, seeing a bird fly overhead. Little did she know that Marshfeather was waiting in the bush beside her....

Marshfeather peaked out and harshly whispered, "Hello Cloverlily!"
Crowpaw crouched and stalked towards the squirrel, treading lightly across the ground as not to alert the squirrel of her presence.

Cloverlily nearly leaped a mile in surprise. As her eyes readjusted to the light from the sun's point, she turned to Marshfeather.
"M-Marshfeather?" she whispered in clear shock.

Crowpaw leaped forward to the squirrel as it darted up the tree trunk. She crashed into the trunk and started scrambling up after it.

Cloverlily purred and gently whacked him in the snout with her tail. She trotted a few tail-lengths from the bush and nodded at Crowpaw.
"Uhhh, nice try, look for more!" she called awkwardly.

"Hey.... I really should be getting back to camp. Bye now!" she flicked her tail shyly and trotted back to Puddlesplash and Crowpaw.
"We should go now, it's getting dark, and cold!" she mewed.

" ok." Larkpaw meowed and opened her mouth to scent the air. She caught a waif of mouse and glanced at her mentor. " I scent a mouse, maybe 2 fox length away, up wind from us." She whispered.

Willowdapple nodded, still watching her apprentice carefully. Her ears were pricked in case of any more prey, and she lifted her nose as she smelt a rabbit, and quietly started stalking it.

Larkpaw frozen as she saw the mouse. She crawled forward slowly. Larkpaw jumped, missing the mouse by lease then a mouse tail. The mouse quickly scurried away. " mouse dung!" Larkpaw snarled.

Bluesnow padded around the woodpile, the mouse Larkpaw missed dangling from his jaws. He dropped it at her paws. "I believe this is yours," he said amusingly.

ic. Larkpaw pricked her ears and padded to her mentor. She then headed off towards the squirrel. She stalked it silently grazing her paws over the grass hear the wood pile.
