Mistystorm let out a quiet sigh.. Great. First day as a mentor and my apprentice get stuck in a hole, along with me when I was trying to get her out. And now, the leader has seen how much a failed. She thought with embarresment.

"Oh great starclan..." Cloudydawn murmured in annoyance. Mousebrained apprentices, need to watch where their going. The molly thought, her tail twitching crossly. I was going on a hunting patrol, and this happened, ugh, I wish I could be in the hunting patrol right now! Her ears twitched as she listened on in the forest. She had no ideas of how to get them out, so why say anything? Oh how she wished she was on a hunting patrol at that moment. Well, their was no backing down now, she had to help her clan, no matter how mousebrained the cats she were helping were. But, still, hunting patrol would go waaaay smoother. The thought of going on a hunting patrol, to get out all her rage, seemed like a pleasant dream that you could never reach.

Russetstar frowned, feeling deeply sorry for the apprentice, "We'll get you out, Seapaw, just hold on a bit longer." He reassured the young apprentice. Russetstar searched the ground, finding no branches around and turned to the three warriors, "Any ideas?" He questioned.

Tealpaw stepped forward. "I'm strong enough to hold Seapaw, if I can be of any help?" he said, holding his slightly blooding paw over the ground.

Mistystorm bristled slightly at Tealpaw's words. " I think not!" She called from down in the hole. " Your hurt, someone else can do it."

Russetstar shook his head and flicked his tail to the apprentice's wounded paw, "You are too wounded and weak to lift up even Seapaw." He remarked.

Mistystorm narrowed her eyes. " Don't you dare talk to a warrior like that! You would still be stuck in this hole if It wasn't for me!" She growled up at him loudly. " I can talk all I want!"

Russetstar flicked his tail irritatedly, "Tealpaw, I understand your wanting to help your friend, but please keep out of this until the problem is resolved." He meowed, an almost warning tone in his voice. He glanced back to Dragonmoon and nodded, "Let's try that. Mistystorm, do you think you could help push Seapaw up to a reasonable height for Dragonmooon to reach her?" He called down the hole.

Seapaw shivered. "I'm cold, Mistystorm..." she mumbled.

Mistystorm pressed close to Seapaw, fluffing up her fur in efforts to warm her apprentice up a it. " Of course, Russetstar!" She called up, peering at the edge of the top of the hole.

Seapaw nodded, before crouching. "What if she can jump out? I got my paws at the top of the hole a moment ago." she said, jumping forwards and falling back down into the snow. It was clear that they couldn't fall any further because they were on tightly packed snow.

Coldfoot finally arrived, carrying a bundle of thyme in his jaws for the shock of the cold. He carefully set it down on a boulder and trotted towards the hole. "Maybe we could get a branch?" he suggested.

Seapaw felt her fur prickle, her breath becoming shallow. She laid herself on the ground quietly.

Tealpaw looked at Coldfoot. "The hole is too deep for a branch."

Coldfoot looked at a gigantic branch that had fallen off one of the trees during the most recent storm.
"Are you sure?" he called.

Riverswoop nodded. "We should use that maybe?" he suggested, knowing the medicine cat might not be taken seriously and dipping his head to his friend.

Mistystorm nodded, peering up at the stick that was maybe a sitting cat length above them. " Seapaw, see if you can reach that, if not you can get on my back to get a better grip on it so you don't fall off." She meowed quietly to her apprentice.

Seapaw rolled her eyes. "I'm a high jumper, so I can probably reach it." she said, giggling. She jumped, clawing the branch tightly and holding onto the end for a minute before bringing herself up on the end. She tried to step forward, but the end of the branch fell further down. "It's gonna snap! I don't trust it!" She hissed, jumping back down to Mistystorm making the branch flip upwards.

"We may need a thicker branch to use as a ramp." Coldfoot suggested, rushing into the thin woods. He found a small, dead tree knocked down by the leaf-fall rains that had started rotting since and pushed it, rolling the log towards the hole.

Russetstar pushed against the log with his shoulder and peered over at the hole, "I think this is far enough, we should have someone on the other side in case it might go in the wrong direction." He meowed.

Coldfoot rolled the branch and the top tipped over, the end making a loud THUNK as it hit the frozen soil in the hole.
"Climb this!" he called.

Seapaw jumped on the trunk, having to unsheathe her claws on the icy surface. She crawled her way up out of the hole, her fur matted and on of her shoulders bleeding from the last fall. She shook her fur. "Finally I'm out of that stupid hole!"

Stormpoppy led the patrol here, aware of how close they were to the other Clans and held her tail up for the patrol to stop. "I know this is going to sound strange but I want someone to keep watch over us while we hunt, so we don't have to worry about those rogues attacking," she mewed quietly.

Moonpaw snorted. "You're also loud enough to frighten away all the prey, so let's go back to camp shall we?" she mewed sarcastically.
Stormpoppy shook her head lightly. "Thanks, Hawksky. If you want to hunt, just ask Moonpaw, I'm sure she'd be willing."
The apprentice went to protest but shut her mouth just in time.

Talonstep looked down at Moonpaw in disappointment. He sighed and shook his head before flicking his tail, gesturing for her to follow.

Oakpaw scoffed a bit at Moonpaw's actions and leaped over to Stormpoppy. He scented the air and lowered himself slightly.

Stormpoppy parted her jaws to scent the air, touching Oakpaw's shoulder with her tail. "Mouse," she murmured, pointing her ears.

Oakpaw nodded and padded forward slowly, amber eyes narrowing when he spotted the plump prey. His muscles coiled, he leapt forward and killed the mouse with a swift bite to the throat. Standing up straight, he looked towards his mentor to see if he did it right.
