WaterClan Swampy Forest

Sandstar turned away from his patrol and went over to the nursery. “New kits?” He asked warmingly, smiling wide. “We are proud to welcome the kits of amazing warriors to WaterClan.” He added, dipping his head.

Feathercloud kept silent as she had watched the kitting, keeping her kits close to her belly. She knew they were curious but did not want them to see.

Snowlily looked up at Sandstar, purring weakly. "Thank you," she mewed, then looked back at Lostblaze. "They're so tiny."

Lostblaze nodded in agreement, nuzzling his mate gently and purring. "What should we name them?"

Snowlily looked up at him. "Well, I'd like to name this one Sunrisekit," she mewed, gently touching the fiery gingery kit with her tail. "It suits her, right?"

Lostblaze beamed and nodded, curling around his mate and kits. "How about Flowerkit for the other?" He purred, placing his tail on the tortoiseshell kit.

Sandstar smiled. “Congratulations. I’ll announce them to the clan later today.” He said and slid out, deciding not to go on the patrol. He spotted Autumnsky and walked over happily. “Hello Autumnsky!” He said.

Autumnsky lifted her head and beamed at the leader. "Hello," she purred and looked towards Peachcloud. "Are we still running low on dandelions, Peachcloud? I was going to head out," she called.

“Has SoulClan said anything to you two about the war? I’d rather WaterClan not get involved.” Sandstar said, hoping for the best.

Badgertooth was laying in the middle of camp minding his own business. He yawned a bit. The large black and white Persian tom wasn't exactly at his best moments. Being an old elder wasn't exactly the best thing in the world for him. His joints ached, he had fleas.

Sunpaw looked at Autumnsky. "Do I need to do any errands?" he whispered. "For Snowlily, if anyone."

Autumnsky hummed softly and padded towards the herb storage. She looked them over, nodding slightly. "You can come with me to get some more poppy seeds and honey," she purred.

Sunpaw nodded, and flicked his tail. "How many do we have to start with?" He asked, scanning the herb storage over her shoulder.

OOC: Sunpaw would be 14 moons right now, so I'm bringing him back down to 11.

OOC: Sandstar asked Autumnsky a question? lol

"There was no mention of the war by the way, at least not to my memory. It was mostly about the alligator," Autumnsky mewed to the leader. She focused back onto her apprentice. "Not many. We should also keep an eye out for catmint with leaf-bare being just around the corner," she purred.

Sunpaw nodded. "I'm gonna go tell Peachcloud we're leaving." he mewed,

Rainpaw let out a small mew. “Peachcloud?” She called when she got to the medicine den. Her cut leg had opened up and really hurt.

Snowlily purred and nodded gently. "Yes, very pretty." She licked the kits' heads gently, then rested her head down. "I'm gonna take a nap..."

Lostblaze nodded and groomed her fur, staying curled around them. He looked down fondly at his kits, purring.

Rainpaw turned around and faced Nectarpaw. “H-hi Nectarpaw.” She said, dipping her head low to the ground in embarrassment.

“Fine with me.” Rainpaw said nervously, looking away slightly. “Better hunt before leafbare, right?” She said awkwardly.

pigeonpaw blinked open her eyes, the chilly morning causing her fur to ruffle up. it was getting cold, and leaf-bare was definitely around the corner now. she made a mental note of gathering feathers, which would make the nests warmer. perhaps some large leaves to keep out the winds and breezes. 

the small apprentice slipped out the apprentice's den, her soft, blue gaze darting around camp in search of her mentor. after a while of not being able to spot him amongst her clanmates, she let out a soft mew into the warrior's den. "cedarhowl?" she called quietly, hoping she wouldn't wake any grumpy warriors.

Carppaw sat off to the side a little, licking the small cut on his leg just as Poolglow padded over, cuffing her son over the head with a paw sharply. "Idiot," she hissed. "Don't go running off like that! If you'd have died, I wouldn't have forgiven myself." Much to his surprise she then began to lick him fiercely, cleaning the mud off his pelt like he was a small kit again. 
"Mom! Stop!" He moved away a little, his lip curling. "Seriously, I'm not a kit any more." 

Silverdawn padded over to the collection of senior warriors. "Would anyone like me to take out a hunting patrol? It might help calm some restless paws," she added, glancing at the cluster of muddy and rather frightened apprentices.

ooc: *pokes* Hallo? cats should be arguing about getting rid of the alligator...

Lakemist ruffled her pelt against the cold winds, and nodded at Silverdawn's suggestion. "Rosepaw, and I can come with you." She meowed, her gaze scanning the clearing for her apprentice. 

Darkwatcher slipped out the elder's den, and huffed as his paws met the cold snow. "Is any cat going to replace our nests? I don't like sleeping in damp moss." He snorted in frustration.

OOC: Sky, since you left, Swiftwish is now Rosepaw's mentor. 

Swiftwish glanced towards Lakemist in bewilderment, snorting and padding to where Rosepaw was. He flicked his tail over his apprentice's shoulder. 

Cherrypaw shuffled her paws, curling closer to Bearpaw.

OOC: Since it'll probably cause a lot of confusion, I think all of Sky's cats that mentored my cats before will continue to mentor them now.

Rosepaw padded over to Lakemist, her eyes fixed on the ground as she walked. She was still profoundly ashamed at how she had followed Willowpaw to the alligator's nest, and felt guilty about Otterpaw's death. Lakemist's brisk but hurtful yelling continued to replay in her mind, and she hoped her mentor wasn't still mad at her. "W-where are we going?" she mewed quietly, almost silent.

Peachcloud washed her paws in the pool of water, gathering the old, rotten herbs together in a clump. She turned at Rainpaw's voice and frowned at the apprentice's bleeding leg. "Oh, honey, sit down right here," she instructed, gesturing to a flat rock layered with moss near the herb supply. She immediately took out a bundle of cobwebs and began lacing them around Rainpaw's cut. She pressed her paw firmly at the end of the scratch. "Does this hurt?"

“Yes.” Rainpaw said, wincing at the pain and whimpering a little. It felt hot and the pain made her whole leg shake.

Peachcloud immediately lifted her paw and wrapped the cobweb bandage around Rainpaw's leg after dabbing it clean with some wet moss and applying a few dock leaves to the wound. "Does anything else hurt? I've seen some people complain of headaches or stomachaches; probably because of this whole dilemma with the alligators." she meowed, voice cheery in an attempt to soothe the fearful apprentice.

“I have a stomachache, yes. I don’t think it’s frok hunger because I ate...” she said and trailed off worriedly.

Peachcloud rested her tail on Rainpaw's shoulder, gently stroking her head. "You're fine, you're fine," she meowed reassuringly. "There's no need to worry, it's often with wounds like this. You're probably just a little sensitive to the sight of blood and it's affecting your stomach. Eat this." she gave a few costmary leaves to the apprentice, holding it to her mouth. "Chew on it for a bit, and when it starts to crumble swallow it down with water. It should help you in no time."

Rainpaw nodded and chewed on the leaves. “What about my leg?” She whimpered, trying not to gag at the herb’s taste.

"I wrapped it up in a few layers of cobwebs to soak up the bleeding and seal the wound. For now I want you to rest, so tell your mentor you won't be able to train for a bit. Now, drink some water and you'll be good to go." Peachcloud explained, leading Rainpaw to the small pool of water in the corner of the den. She matched the apprentice's pace in case she needed a shoulder as she walked.

OOC: Agghh I really I want to bring Twistedleg back so we can continue Peach x Twisted

IC: Lakemist twitched her ears, and glanced down to Rosepaw, her gaze filled with warmth. "I'm sorry I went so hard on you," She sighed, dipping her head, "I was just so terrified that I could of lost you, and It would be my fault for not keeping a closer eye on you."

OOC: Well I don't think you can since I have Autumnsky as med cat

IC: Autumnsky padded out of the medicine den, looking to Sunpaw and purring, "Sunpaw, find a warrior or two that we can bring along to collect herbs, please." She flicked her tail over her apprentice's ear and padded to the nursery, stepping inside. "Snowlily? How are you feeling?"

Rubblewind padded over to Turtlesplash and Nightfoot, dipping his head in greeting. "With all due respect, we need to get rid of that alligator before winter truly sets in," he mewed, voice low and quiet so nobody else could hear. "We could freeze out here."

Autumnsky sighed and flattened her ears. "Or we could be pacifists for Leaf-bare and just wait for the eggs to hatch. The dens here could be made warmer," she meowed, the idea of dealing with more injured warriors setting her on edge.

Rubblewind sighed a little. “I don’t feel comfortable. We’re exposed out here.”

"You'll feel less comfortable if that alligator snaps its jaws down around your leg. Just ask Lostblaze," Autumnsky replied snarkly, lifting her head.

“Which is more and more likely to happen the longer we stay exposed like this!” Rubblewind huffed grumpily. “Otterpaw’s already been taken, it’s not long before a kit or three does too.”

"The gator will stay by the nest," Autumnsky huffed back, getting to her paws. "We can form a temporary camp here for Leaf-bare, and we can make it less exposed," she stated stubbornly, lifting her chin. "The kits will be kept here, where they're safe."

Rosepaw shifted at Lakemist's warm gaze. She tried to let her mentor's apology soothe her discomfort, but she couldn't stop replaying it in her head: Otterpaw's body being flung against a tree by an alligator. She could still taste the blood of trying to warm the apprentice up and get him to come to. "I-it's okay. It was my fault for letting it happen. I should've stopped Willowpaw. Maybe then Otterpaw would still be here." she murmured, glancing away with a thin, hushed sigh.

Lakemist brushed her tail reassuringly along Rosepaw's flank. "It wasn't your fault," She meowed, blinking sympathetically, and then flicking her tail as she rose to her paws, "Let's head out to hunt, we'll need to find more prey now that leaf-bare is here."

Rosepaw allowed herself a little grin, flexing her claws in the ground beneath her. "O-okay. Thanks, Lakemist." she meowed, slowly padding towards the entrance. "Where should we go?"

Flowerbelly awoke from her short nap and let out an enormous yawn, seeing Firepool in a nest nearby and prodding him with her paw. "Hey!" she chirped, blinking to adjust to the milky white light filtering into the den. "Wow, I feel like I haven't spoken to you in forever, even though it was just a few hours ago." she giggled, tail lashing.

Rainwing let out a shudder, her body convulsed in unbearable pain. She let out a quiet, raspy wail and lashed her tail in pain. Her wounds burned and looking at them made her want to be sick. She coughed, causing her throat to hurt even more. She flickered her eyelids and glanced around the medicine den, before giving one last horrible shudder and giving into death.

Autumnsky's ears perked at the wail and she rushed into the medicine den, a cry of anguish escaping her. Tears welled up in her eyes as she took in the infected wounds. She whirled and padded out, eyes blazing through the tears. "Cedarhowl, Morningleaf, Darkshine, with me to collect herbs. I won't have another warrior die from infected wounds and neglect," She meowed and whirled, padding out. She cast a glare at Peachcloud and hissed, "I will have words with you later."

Darkshine flattened her ears and padded after the elder of the two medicine cats.

Pigeonpaw slipped out the apprentice's den, and flicked her tail tip, wondering where her mentor was. "Cedarhowl?" She called out, hoping that he would take her training, or hunting, or even patrolling. Anything to get my mind off of that alligator and Otterpaw! She thought to herself, shuddering.


Lakemist twitched her ears, thinking of the location best suitable for Rosepaw. "Why not the white-cove beach?" She suggested, padding on her way out the camp, "I want to show you a cool trick there." 

Firepool blinked his eyes open after being awakened, and stretched with a purr rumbling in his throat. "Me too!" He meowed playfully, "Should we go and ask Nightfoot or Turtlesplash to organize us into a hunting patrol? My legs really need to be stretched after being stuck in camp all day working on dens."
