Whisperspirit immediately turned around to his mate. "Back into the nursery with you!" he mewed, wrapping his tail around her shoulders and pushing her back.

Laurelkit huffed as she was pushed back into the nest.

Silverleaf looked up at him with a small glare. "Not until I'm told why one of my clanmates is lying lifeless in front of me!" she hissed.

Whisperspirit let out an exasperated sigh. "It was a fox, there's orange fur in her claws and she stinks of it." he mewed.

Silverleaf quickly turned on her, standing up so that she was taller. "Don't you dare talk about your mother that way Shadowpaw. I don't know what's wrong with you, and frankly I don't care. But your mother did everything for you, she tried her hardest to make you happy. She loved you more than anything in the world and if you can't see that then you need to get your act together." she growled angrily. She didn't mean to sound so harsh but she was tired of the apprentice being so apathetic about something so serious.

Shadowpaw padded right up to Silverleaf and shoved her face in the deputy's, much to Whisperspirit's surprise. "I'm half WaterClan." she spat. "She was never loyal to LeafClan, and now she never can be, because I shouldn't even be here."

"Just because she had a Waterclan mate does not make her disloyal. Loyalty depends on how much you do to protect your clanmates and your loved ones. Ashrose did everything she could to do just that. You know what, I'm not even a full-blooded clan cat either. Both of my parents had kittypet blood and neither had Leafclan blood. Has that stopped me from becoming part of this clan, being their deputy, and raising a family? No, it hasn't. Deal with being half-clan because there's no getting around it." she explained with a snarl, pressing her nose to the apprentice's

"My father doesn't even know I exist!" Shadowpaw yowled. "Ashrose's mother may have been Silverstar, and I may be half Clan, but there is no place for me here any more."
Whisperspirit padded forward and gently pushed the pair apart. "Come on now, there's no need to yell."

Silverleaf growled, taking a deep breath so she wouldn't give the apprentice a wound to think about. "Listen here. My parents didn't even care about me at all. At least you had a mother to love you!" she yowled, tears springing into her eyes. "There's always a place for you here Shadowpaw... We've never treated you differently, hardly anyone even noticed that you were half-clan to begin with! Look at all the friends you've made. Are you really going to say that they don't matter just because you're half-clan?"

Shadowpaw flicked her tail angrily but her gaze had come even. "I don't have any friends." she mewed, turning and walking out of the camp entrance with her unsheathed claws making little holes in the dirt.

"Then what in Soulclan's forsaken name do you call us?!" she demanded, flicking her tail at Lightpelt, Whisperspirit, and herself. "We care about you, we don't care that you're half-clan. We don't care so long as you care about us and Leafclan." She pressed her nose to the apprentice, pulling her close and holding her there. "Don't throw your life away just because of one silly mistake... Please don't. Please don't do what I did and leave your family behind."

Shadowpaw glanced at them over her shoulder. "I need some air." she mewed sharply, and continued to pad away.
Saffronflame watched from just inside the medicine den, a tear in the corner of her eye.
Laurelkit stood at the nursery entrance, watching calmly.

ooc: Whisperspirit will recruit Poppyfall to go and check on Shadowpaw later...

Silverleaf watched her leave, quickly shutting her eyes. She shook her head and padded to the nursery.

Laurelkit glanced up at her mother and frowned. "What's wrong?"

Whisperspirit watched Shadowpaw's tail disappear out the entrance barrier and glanced around stiffly.

Silverleaf didn't answer as she lay down with her tail wrapped over her nose.
"Papa!" Ivykit meowed happily, running up to him. "Everything's fine, mom's just tired."

Mousepaw shrugged. "Why not?"

They left camp, Duskpaws tail flicking before disappearing.

Laurelkit bounded into the medicine den. "Saffronflame?" she piped.
The medicine cat looked up, surprised to see her three kit sisters. "Hello you three." she purred.

Whisperspirit sat down beside Silverleaf's head. "You look stressed..." he mewed softly, licking her ears. "Are you feeling okay? The kits not too much trouble?"

"Hello!" Dapplekit greeted with a small smile. Ivykit nodded her head slightly.
"It isn't the kits at all... they're fine." she meowed, flattening her ears. "I just wish that I could make Shadowpaw understand that none of this was her fault."

Laurelkit pointed at the herb Saffronflame was sorting. "What's that?"
"These are marigold leaves," the gingery furred cat mewed.

Whisperspirit sighed. "Shadowpaw has problems, and I believe she wants to try and sort them out for herself. I always wanted to do things like that when I was an apprentice, it's just a part of growing up I suppose." He lay down beside Silverleaf and licked the top of her head. "She'll be fine."

Laurelkit sniffed at the herb and sneezed, not amused by the scent.

Whisperspirit tilted his head thoughtfully. "I'll send someone out to look for her. Poppyfall maybe?"

"Hmm..." The brown and white she-cat thought for a second before shrugging. "No idea. Ivykit, do you know?"
Ivykit tilted her head before sniffing the herb as well. "Um... It's either for wounds or sickness... Does it help with..." she frowned, not exactly knowing. "It helps wounds right?"

Saffronflame nodded, a smile masking her shock over the fact that Ivykit knew what the herb did. "Yes, its used to help heal wounds and stop infection."

"How did you know that?" Dapplekit asked, amazed.
"W- Well... it doesn't smell all that great. You wouldn't want to eat something that smelled bad would you?" Ivykit tilted her head as if she should've known. "That's why I thought it would go on wounds."
