Speckles stretched as she woke up, yawning, she was cut off by a short bout of coughing. She trotted over to her kits drowsily and purred as she lay next to them.

Swiftbreeze left her mate at the entrance and went in the medicine den to find out what the scent was. Sickness was rank in the air, and a rogue was stretching and coughing. "Who are you?" Swiftbreeze mewed.

Flowerkit winced as the coughing rogue queen left the den. She finally uncurled from her little ball and stretched out her legs. She held her breath every few minutes; she didn't want to take in the sick air and receive the illness.

Sandstar came in beside Turtlesplash and gave a glance to the medicine cat den. He gave a sigh and padded to it giving some little coughs, as he passed another coughing rogue.

Seashell padded after Turtlesplash and Sandstar into camp, but she immediately stopped when they swerved into the medicine den. She cleared her throat and turned the corner to her den, quickly curling up into a little ball and trying to fall asleep.

Spottedkit widened her eyes as the coughing began again, she scrunched up her face with disgust and returned to her fellow littermates. "Amberkit, the nursery is clear now." She whispered, referring to the sick queen leaving it.

Ebonykit snorted, "Finally..!" She mewled as she darted into the nursery with a slight purr.

Firepaw yawned by the fresh-kill pile. He glanced around for Russetwind, ready for his first day as a apprentice. I can't wait, I'll get to see the territory for the first time! He thought with excitement, trying to keep calm.

Flowerkit yawned as she watched Ebonykit and Amberkit and Spottedkit look in disgust at the coughing queen. She rolled her eyes, although she herself was scared of catching whatever disease the rogue might have.

Firepaw noticed Marshfeather, boredly going through slush. He padded over to him with a flick of his tail. Oh well, doing something as a apprentice can wait! He thought. "Hi Marshfeather." He meowed, he flashed back in his memory remembering his late ceremony yesterday, that's the cat he saw who wasn't even chantinng his name! Well maybe he was doing it quietly, but whatever. Firepaw thought to himself amused.

Ebonykit yowled in surprise as her littermate attacked her, batetd her ears playfully and rolled over out of her way.

Flowerkit watched Ebonykit and her siblings play around. She got up and shook out her fur, approaching them with blinking blue-green eyes.
"Hey, can I play?" she meowed, bouncing up and down.
Amberkit stood guard of his littermates as they played. He examined Flowerkit, twitching his ear.
"Sure! Have you touched the rogue lately?" he asked suspiciously.
"Never." she shook her head, purring.

Sandstar started to lightly laugh, but it quickly turned into a dry and raspy cough. As he started s coughing he turned away from his mate to prevent sickness even touching her.

Spottedkit raised her tail and leaped upon a boulder. "I, Spottedstar shall make Amberkit my deputy for his braveness! And Ebonykit shall be my trusty warrior! Flowerkit-er- You shall be the medicine cat!" She mewled, leaping off the boulder.

"Why can't I be leader?" Flowerkit pouted.
Amberkit sighed.
"I want to be medicine cat!" he meowed loudly, but quickly turned and whispered into Flowerkit's ear.
"Don't worry, she always wants to be leader. Just let her." he assured the upset Flowerkit.
"No, I want to be leader! Why are you always leader?" she stepped up and scrambled up the boulder, standing beside Spottedkit.

Seashell looked up as Turtlesplashed entered the den. She sighed, chewing on some loose fur from her shoulder that she had been pulling for the last few days. She knitted a leaf into a branch and scratched her back, feeling a pain in her head and picking up another leaf and pressing it to her forehead.
