Heathersong padded into camp after her morning/afternoon/evening hunt and dropped her vole and a blue jay onto the fresh kill pile. She wasn't all that hungry, so she settled down in the shade to groom her fur. She had gone through some thorn bushes, and she spent quite a while tugging thorns from her pelt.

"I think you got a little fur in your thorns there." Rosewhisker mewed, chuckling as she came to lay next to her sister. "Seriously, how does one manage to get that many thorns in their pelt?"

"I swear, that thorn bush jumped right out and attacked me" she purred in amusement, tugging the last one out, then grooming down the ruffled fur. "Took long enough!" She meowed

Lightningclaw padded in behind his sisters with a thrush and a squirrel. He added his catch to the pile and sat down next to his sisters. "Thorns." Was all he said because he heard what Rosewhisker had said

Heathersong examined her brothers pelt. All clean! "How do you do it" she laughed lightly, and flicked her tail towards his nearly "sparkling" pelt. "Every time I leave camp I come back with extra baggage." She grumbled

"Maybe I just enter the camp better than you?" Lightningclaw said jokingly. He didn't really know how he got in without thorns on his pelt. "If you keep getting thorns like that we will have to call you "Thornsong." Lightningclaw added to his joke

Rosewhisker snorted, rolling her eyes at the joke. "The real question is how do I not get thorns knotted in my fur. I mean, look at this!" She fluffed out her long fur.

Lightningclaw pretended to wince in pain but did his best to make it look convincing and said, "I don't feel so good my stomach is bothering me. I'll be back to you guys later." After that without waiting for an answer he got up and turned to leave out the back of the camp, making sure his sisters didn't see.

Rosewhisker frowned, sensing something odd with his words. She looked at Heathersong, a question plain on her face. "What's with him?"

After a while, Lightningclaw came back into camp the same way he had left to make it look like he had just gone in the back of the camp. He looked for his sisters, found Rosewhisker and said "Hi."

Brookleaf stared at him for a moment, her mouth opening but no sound coming out. She took a deep breath and tried again. "U-um... would you like to go for a w-walk?"

Rosewhisker rolled her eyes but didn't press him further.

Sageflight blinked, a bit surprised but happy at the same time. He flicked his ears, mentally cursing himself for not responding quicker. "Yeah," He said, a grin finding its way onto his face as his padded out of the den.

Brookleaf padded forward slowly, each step filled with uncertainty. "Um...where would y-you like to go?" She wasn't sure if he wanted their walk to be... well, a walk together or just a walk. Would he want to pick herbs, for example, with company? Or just talk to her? Her legs shook nervously and she hoped it wasn't too noticeable.

Riverwind caught site of Brookleaf and Sageflight, smiling at the interaction before seeing Mouseheart. He waved his tail in greeting, showing the spot that was open next to him.

Mouseheart had been watching Riverwind from the corner of her eye. His gesture in her direction had surprised her, so her initial reaction was to look around her to see if he was waving at anyone else. When she saw no one but her brother, Foxcall, she knew he must've been waving at her. She nervously raised her tail and waved back, unsure.

Mentally slapping herself, Mouseheart gingerly made her way toward him and hesitated before sitting beside him. "How was I supposed to know?" She whispered in an embarrassed tone.

Foxcall raised his head from where he'd been napping close by. He eyed Riverwind and his sister, still not approving of them both being together.

"Oh, shut up..." Mouseheart flicked her fluffy tail in half-hearted annoyance. Around him, she felt safer and had more confidence - you wouldn't catch her telling anyone else to shut up! She sighed.

Riverwind padded through the entrance, shaking off the mushy feeling he'd had before so nothing seemed out of the ordinary. He didn't want anyone to suspect anything.
