"Okay." Clearpaw said and walked to stand in front of her mentor. She croached and then lunged forward and hooked her paw to try to trip him.

He sidestepped, easily dodging it. "You need to get closer for that one," he said. "Why don't we try an easier one." he backed up. "If a cat is going to bring down all its weight on you while rearing on its back legs, role towards your opponents hind legs to unbalance him. Like this," He motioned her to rear up.

Heatherpaw leaped at Nightpaw and he reared up like he was told and batted at her with sheathed paws. she lost her blance and he pinned her down.

Nightpaw nodded and Heatherpaw got to her feet. Nightpaw lepaed at her and she lashed out at him with sheathed paw,s standing on her hind legs. he dusked down and she missed.
