FrostClan's Mountain

Frostclan's mountain makes up most of their territory, and the tip is mostly covered in snow almost the whole year. The mountain has lots of little mice, sparrows, and the occasional phesant roosting in the tops. Herbs are abundant, but sparser the closer you get to the top.

ooc: Right, Solar is going to go into the tunells, and get seriously injured by the badgers. Wind will take him back to the camp, but he will get his warrior name in the dying apprentice ceremony, and die. Okay? Very Happy

ic: Windfur padded over to a small outcrop of rocks, and sat down in front of his apprentice. "Okay," he said to Solarpaw. "I want you to catch two mice, a blackbird, and a rabbit if you can. Then meet me at the camp entrance. But i will be following you."
Solarpaw nodded, and closed his eyes as Windfur melted into the shadows. The orange tom looked around, and padded softly away, sniffing for any scent of prey.

Solarpaw padded through some trees, and glanced around. There, a mouse! he thought to himself. He dropped into a hunters crouch and waited for the right moment. NOW! He pounced, and caught the small mouse. The orange tom sat up, and buried his prey, purring happily. Windfur, merely a shadow in the trees, nodded his head and smiled happily for his apprentice. Solarpaw padded away towards the tunnels, alert for prey.

ooc: So the partol will split up here, and get attacked in pairs?

ic: Lunarfall padded out of some bushes, shaking a leaf from her head. "OKay, so we will split into pairs here. Raincloud, you can hunt with me, and Shadowstrike with Snowstar. Good?" she asked. Shadowstrike nodded.

Raincloud sniffed there was a weird smell. It led to the tunnles.

Nightshade, Dappleheart, Loudpaw and Dovepaw by the small trees. Blackbee, Leafpaw, BUmblepaw, Icepaw, Stardust, Silverstripe by the mountain.

ic: Stardust sniffed. "Sheesh, it reeks of badger here," the warrior commented. "Come on, you'll never forget this smell." she flicked her tail for Icepaw to get a good mouthful of the scent.

Snowstar continued to hunt then became alert that there was a fresh scent of a badger near.

Shadowstrike yawned, then almost choked on the smell. "Eugh, badger!" he wrinkled his nose at the smell, shutting his mouth.

Stardust looked at Icepaw. "Smell." she ordered.

Snowstar knew that the badger scent was to fresh for the badger to be gone. She was now on the look out for the badger or badgers that might attack her and her clan mates any minute now.

Stardust nodded. "Fresh or stale?" she asked. SHe knew ful well it was stale, but it would be a good idea to test her and see how much she knew.

Shadowstrike padded up to his mate. "Are you okay?" he asked softly, rubbing against her shoulder.

Shadowstrike looked at her slowly. "You dont seem to be alright. What's gotten into you?" he asked quietly.

Stardust shook her head. "Never mind. Let's carry on to the border." she mewed.

Lunarfall scented rabbit, and signaled frantically to Raincloud for help.

Shadowstrike purred. :Okay then. Let's hunt." he mewed softly and padded over to a mouse-smelling patch of briars.

Stardust led the small group through the forest of trees on the mountain.

Blackbee fallowed. "So... that is badger?" Leafapw asked sniffing the air. Bumblepaw still wished he could be with Dovepaw not with Leafpaw.

Lunarfall nodded. "Okay then. We'll see if we can drive it off." she mewed. "Snowstar? Shadowstrike?" she called for the other cats in the patrol.

Stardust looked at the apprentices, already tired out form their first outing at the territory. "I suppose we should head back. Tell you what, when we get back you can all have your pick of the freshkill pile." she mewed happily, padding off into the bushes again.

Suddenly, a massive black and white paw flew out from the tunnel and whacked Lunarfall's hindquaters. The silvery gray shecat squealed, and turned around to see not one, not two, but three badgers emerging from the tunnels. "Erm....guys?" she mewed. "Slight problem..."

ic: Suddenly a badger jumped at Snowstar immediately sinking its teeth into her shoulder. Snowstar clawed swiftfully at the badger.

Raincloud backed away out of the tunnels as a badger chased her. She narrowed eyes. She ran for the badger and leaped over it. She turned on her hind legs and raked her claws down the back of the badger. She bit down as hard as she could on it's back leg. The badger road loudly. Raincloud dodged a huge paw, she was happy that she did the badger defense perfectly.

Just then another badger jumped on top of Snowstar pinning her down with it's teeth deep into the same shoulder as the other badger had done. Snowstar managed to struggle free and when she did she saw that the wound on her shoulder was pouring blood. Even so she was determined to carry on with the fight.

Snowstar rushed over to help ignoring the pain and the blood coming from her shoulder. Snowstar pulled the badger off of Raincloud and let her struggle free. Just when she was about to use the death bite on the badger, the badger bit Snowstar in the back of her neck.

Lunarfall snarled at the smallest badger, who loked hardly more than a kit itself. The badger squealed and ran away, without injury. "Raincloud!" Lunarfall mewed.

Shadowstrike lay unconscious on the ground beside the fighting, knocked out by a massive blow to his head.

Snowstar ran over to her mate, Shadowstrike and began screaming "Shadowstrike can you hear me?!?" Just then a badger ran into her and knocked her off of her paws. She got up and kept her body in front of her mate to shield him while defending herself as well.

Lunarfall ran over to the badger that had Raincloud pinned down. "I'll help!" she mewed, clawing at the badger's face and biting its neck.

There was so much blood coming from Snowstar's neck and shoulder injuries but she ignored it. She would not leave her mates side. What they really needed out there was a medicine cat.

Shadowstrike murmured something that sounded like "nhg shv hrsl" (no save yourself) as he turned over.

Lunarfall aimed a swipe at the hindquaters of the retreating badger, and turned to her Clanmates. "Is anyone seriously hurt?"

THe tom whipped his eyes open and jumped to his paws. "what what? Ow!" he gasped as he reistered a thumping pain in his head and almost passed out again. "W-what happened? Is Raincloud okay?" he added, glancing at the still shecat.

Shadowstrike nodded, then winced, stifling another howl of pain. "Lets get back to camp..." he murmured, the thumping in his head growing stronger.

Lunarfall grabbed Raincloud and set her on her paws. "There you go. Come on, we're heading back to camp." she offered her shoulder for support.
