Winterfang blinked again. "You realise this means leaving your Clan, right? You might have to fight against your old friends in battle, and FrostClan might not even accept you entirely."

"I don't care. Fireclan doesn't care about me anyway." she reasoned, frowning slightly. She knew that it would be hard, but she also knew that being with Winterfang was what her heart truly wanted.

Weaseltooth led Snowpaw here. He knew the terrain would be tough on her legs and pads and knew it wasn't a great place for fresh kill. He was testing her. "Go catch food." He sat, looking at her expectantly.

Snowpaw rolled her eyes before closing them, focusing on the breeze ruffling her fur and the scents washing over her. Smirking, her eyes flickered over to a crevice where a plump mouse was. She was glad that the weather didn't tempt them into their burrows yet and slowly stalked over.

Weaseltooth eyed his apprentice and spotted what she was hunting. Smirking, he flicked a rock toward the mouse, scaring it away. He looked away, pretending to not have seen.

Snowpaw quickly skirted around a rock, spotting another mouse that was out of Weaseltooth's field of view. Crouching again, she prowled forward for a moment before leaping, catching the rodent in her front paws and killing it with a swift bite to the back of the neck.

Snowpaw grinned, picked up the mouse, and instantly changed her facial expression to one of indifference. The mouse wasn't the fattest that she'd seen, but it was more than she had expected in this weather.

"So do you!" she lashed back at him. "You have to feed the clan too don't you?!" she'd finally snapped, she couldn't take him treating everything she did like it didn't mean anything.

Weaseltooth yawned loudly and continued to observe his apprentice. She had a temperament, but she hadn't complained once about the trek up the mountain. He was impressed by that, at least, even if her hunting was lacking today.

Snowpaw glanced around and found a plump thrush, much bigger than the mouse and crouched down. Picking her way slowly around it as a breeze blew by, she gave a large leap and pinned it to the ground by one wing. Acting quickly, she dug her claws into it and killed it, carrying it back to Weaseltooth. "Impressed yet?" she muttered crossly.

Coalsplash padded by the mountain, sniffing for prey. Suddenly, he smelled a fox. Then, the orange-red creature stomped into the clearing and immediately leaped on Coalsplash.
"Oh no!" the tom struggled to fight back and kill the fox off, but he couldn't, and collapsed to the ground faintly.
The fox had padded away, something that looked like a proud and evil grin on it's ugly face. It entered it's cave again, letting the fox kits roam the territory since it was safe of cats now.
His heartbeat slowed down until he wasn't breathing any more, and he followed the light to SoulClan.

Quickstep hooked her claws on a squirrel just before it could escape and let out a loud "Ha!". Several birds in a nearby brush scattered across the ground, sprinting for hollows.

Fallenpaw jumped in fear from the sudden noise. Her eyes widened as most of the birds flew off and spotted Quickstep, who might have just scared off all the prey. Well thanks a lot! She thought, twitching her tail grumpily.

Flurrynose scrambled up a boulder as she slid across some melting ice. She dipped her head in greetings to the other two warriors here.
"Hello Lynxfang, Quickstep." she meowed, then turning to her apprentice.
"What do you want to do? It's already started to drizzle a bit." she winced when a cold droplet of rain fell and sprinkled down her nose.

Fallenpaw looked up at the drizzling sky and flicked her tail. She opened her mouth and tried scenting something, but it was hard with rain getting in the way. She finally spotted a scuffle between two boulders cracks and crouched lowly, stalking it. A vole appeared from the other side of the crack and Fallenpaw leapt over the boulders, landing neatly on the other side, a claw length away from the vole. Before the vole had time escape, she quickly pounced on it and nipped it's neck. Fallenpaw triumphantly looked up towards her mentor with the vole firmly in her jaws.

Flurrynose whipped her tail back and forth.
"Great job!" she meowed, a smile of satisfaction on her face.
She flattened her ears at the rain as she spotted a small bluebird perched on a low tree branch. She stalked towards it, crawling around the tree. She slowly scrambled up the bark, and as it saw her and got ready to fly, she slashed out her paw and hooked it up in her claws, snatching it and snapping its spine.
"Huzzah!" she yowled, laughing.

IC: Quickstep chased after one of the fleeing quails, cornering at a cleft and pinning it down, snapping its spine. She felt a boost of pride and dragged the quail over triumphantly to show the rest of the patrol.

Fallenpaw's face brightened after she dug up the prey. She smiled, showing a "Nice catch!" To her mentor. She crouched down, noticing a large mouse, she stalked towards it and accidentally stepped on a dry piece of a plant. The mouse looked up and darted away with Fallenpaw twitching her tail and running after it. It left inside a hole as Fallenpaw padded back with flattened ears and twitching whiskers. Mouse-Dung! She thought, licking her chest in embarrassment.

Flurrynose smiled, nodding.
"It's okay. You'll get it next time." she meowed encouragingly.
She spotted a crow. She watched it with a menacing glare, it's long legs walking in circles and it's heavy, straight bill pecking at some seeds from a flower. Flurrynose stalked towards it, but as it saw her and took flight, she slashed out a claw and missed. She cornered the tree and scrambled up the bark, just missing the crow as it took off into the sky.
Mangy piece of crowfood... ha-haha, crow... food, 'cause it's a crow! Flurrynose laughed at her own thoughts as she cornered the tree and came back to her apprentice.
"See? Sometimes you'll miss it, but it's okay." she meowed affectionately.

"Why are you guys going after the flying ones?!" Quickstep mewed, eyeing another nervous looking quail trying to hide in a hollow. The quail stepped out to try to escape, but she ran to meet it, chasing it towards the other two.

Fallenpaw shrugged and looked around, scenting the air. She spotted a squirrel close by, quit far from any trees. Weird.. She thought, she flicked her tail and angled her ears towards it for her mentor to see. Fallenpaw stalked around to the other side of the soon to be juicy prey. And pounced, the squirrel noticed her and bolted straight ahead. This was exactly what she wanted though, as her mentor was waiting on the other side for a squirrel to run into her claws.

Flurrynose smiled, appreciating the apprentices glimmer of hope for still learning even though she was mute. As the squirrel saw her and began to run back, she leaped and caught it with her claws. She mimicked Quickstep to herself as she carried the prey back, dipping her head at Fallenpaw.
"Good job!" she praised her apprentice happily.
Why would Quickstep say that as she was going towards a quail? Ugh... bipolar mouse-brain. she thought to herself with a sigh and shake of her head, but she quickly smiled at Fallenpaw again when she realized it.
