Winterfang smelt the squirrel before he could see it and, dropping into a perfect hunting crouch, crept towards the small brown creature which was sitting on a tree root nearby.

Winterfang felt the breeze blowing towards him, and with a practised air, leapt at the squirrel when he was merely a foxlength away. The squirrel didn't even know what was happening until it's neck snapped, and Winterfang spun around with the fluffy creature in his jaws purring at Runesky.

She growled and launched herself at him, bowling both of them over before she finally pinned him down with her paws on his shoulders and tail. "Shut up." she hissed, her eyes shone playfully however.

Winterfang purred and, lithe as a snake, wriggled out from Runesky's grip and knocked her hind legs. "Never!"

The gray tabby stumbled but gained her footing again. Growling she quickly struck her paw forward, swiping his front paws from under him. "Then I'll make you."

"Would you really?" Runesky couldn't help but feel a certain warmness creep over her and a hushed voice whispered in her ear. She could've sworn it sounded like her brother urging her to be with the warrior.
