FrostClan's Mountain

She huffed and followed him. "Hmph, fine then. By the way you should apologize to me, making me continue to walk out here after you just ran away like that." she muttered.

Winterfang didnt answer and continued to walk, but flicked his ears to show he'd heard. What Runepaw couldnt see was the embarrasment burning the fur on his cheeks.

She pouted, puffing out her cheeks. "Well? Are you listening?" she asked, annoyance playing in her voice.

Winterfang sighed. "Kind of hard to ignore." he joked.

She growled quietly. "This is your fault y'know... Now I'm going to ge- ge-" she sneezed and sighed. "Get sick because of you..."

Winterfang flattened his ears and glanced back. "Sorry." he mewed briskly, not trusting his voice.

"Hmph... Good enough I guess." she muttered, staring at the paw prints he left in the snow.

Winterfang continued walking, his pace brisk.

Deerflight trekked up the mountain, her senses alert. She smelled something mouth-watering, and identified it as a pheasant. This far down? Deerflight thought, puzzled. Then she realized that she was higher up the mountain than she had realized. She heard a scrabbling sound and sighted the pheasant pecking at something on a log. She stalked as close as she could without altering the pheasant, quietly unsheathing her claws and waggling her haunches. Then, she neatly pounced on the plump bird, her golden eyes glinting with satisfaction. With a swift bite to the neck ,she killed the bird. As hungry as she was, she would feed her Clan first, and, picking the pheasant up in her jaws, padded off towards the snowy area of the mountain. Deerflight scooped some snow over the bird. She set off once again to find some other prey. When she was about twenty fox-lengths away from her buried prey, she decided that she would have a hard time carrying all that prey, so she turned pack and dug the pheasant out of the snow. Grasping the bird in her strong jaws, she set off toward camp, feeling happy and positive. When she was about three quarters of a way to the Clan's camp, she stopped to rest. After a while, Deerflight came back to camp, proudly carrying her prey.

Runesky padded here from the tunnels, glancing around with a slightly frightened shiver. "Back in Frostclan territory... What am I even doing?" she whispered to herself.

Winterfang, ever the oblivious wanderer, pricked his ears from the bush he was hiding in. Is that.... FireClan? he thought, then stood and grinned as he recognised the scent. "Runesky!" he half-whispered.

She jumped, her tail and the fur on her shoulders bristling in surprise as she whipped around. "W- Winterfang?"

"Of course," Winterfang purred, pushing his way out of the bushes and walking towards her. "Any other FrostClan cat would've chased you out already."

"And here I thought I'd made friends when we had to stay with you all." she meowed, her brown eyes shining with a joking light.

ic: Winterfang shrugged and nuzzled Runesky's shoulder. "Well, yeah, but friendships only stretch so far."

Runesky frowned and looked to the side. "Only so far..."

ooc: Like, really loud. XD and dancing! 

ic: Winterfang blushed, realising what he'd said. "I mean, our friendship is good. I like it," he replied in a rush, his tail fluffing slightly with embarrassment.

ooc well of course! You just gonna sit there like a bump on a log?

Runesky glanced back at him and couldn't help but smile at the sheepish look on his face. "You really don't read me that well..."

ic: Winterfang shrugged. "I never read anyone correctly. It's kinda just something I've had to accept." he admitted, shuffling his paws awkwardly but still smiling.

"So you're calling yourself a mousebrain?" she wondered aloud, pacing in a circle around him with a flick of her tail over his shoulder.

"Am not!" Winterfang retorted adamantly, then noticed the smile and his tail fluffed even more.

"Sure you aren't. I must admit that you aren't the most clever cat in the forest though." she purred gently, smirking at him.

Winterfang huffed and sat down, yelping and standing up again as a rather sharp stone dug into his hind leg. "Don't say anything!" he growled jokingly, leaping towards the younger warrior and bowling her over as softly as he could manage.

She rolled her eyes and shuffled her way from under him. Using her tail, she quickly tripped him and sat down. "You were saying~?"

Winterfang huffed again, and decided to stay where he was, sprawled awkwardly on the dusty ground. "Well, I was saying I'm not a mousebrain..." he trailed off, laughing a little.

"Sure you aren't." she mused, rolling her eyes.

The white and tabby tom simply stuck his tongue out at Runesky. "Well, why are you here in the first place?" he asked, rather eager to get the point of conversation away from his clumsiness, which only seemed to make an appearance around her.

She gave a slight shrug, not really knowing how to answer. "I found the tunnels again."

Winterfang nodded. "Ah. Maybe we should block that off, I don't think it would be good for any FrostClan or FireClan cat to find it..."

"They haven't found it yet." she reasoned, not wanting to get rid of the one way she'd be able to meet with the tom without someone knowing.

Winterfang noted the hesitation, and felt a rush of happiness that the shecat still wanted to see him. "Well, yeah..."

She sighed quietly and tilted her head. "Why in Soulclan's name does this relationship even exist... I have to wonder." she thought to herself.

Winterfang half-smiled. "Want to hunt or something?"

"Sure I suppose." she mewed, standing to stretch for a moment.

Winterfang got to his paws, then realised he was rather covered in dust. From head to tail, in fact. "Oops," he laughed, trying to shake his fur out.

"Mouse-brain." she purred, padding away with her nose in the air to scent for prey.

"Says you," Winterfang teased right back, trying to lick the dust off his paws and immediately regretting that decision.

"Really? I'm not the one licking up dust." she huffed.

ooc: lovestruck mousebrain he is....

ic: Winterfang coughed and stuck his tongue out at Runesky. "Okay okay," he huffed, shaking his fur out again and scenting for prey.

She rolled her eyes with a smirk before dropping into a crouch. "Shh." she hissed, glancing around to make sure there was nothing in her path.

Winterfang nodded, deciding to watch Runesky hunting to see how differently the two Clans taught their apprentices.

ooc Don't do that! I don't know how Fireclan cats hunt! D:<

Runesky picked her way forward, making sure to keep her tail close to her so that it didn't move anything.

ooc: FireClan (in my head) is a mix of ShadowClan and SkyClan (as there is no bracken and such on the ground in their territory). FrostClan is a mix of SkyClan, LeafClan, WindClan and ShadowClan as they have bracken.

ooc Ah... so they hunt in darkness and use what cover they have kind of? And they use trees? XD

Runesky smirked and went to leap, though she fell a mouse-length short and quickly had to slam her paws out to catch the finch in her claws.

ooc: Exactly!  Cloud is a mix between Wind and Thunder, Leaf is like Thunder and Sky (therefore DuskClan will be Wind, Thunder and Sky) Water is, well, RiverClan, and BrightClan is, well, WindClan. XD

ic: Winterfang purred. "Nice," he replied jokingly, smiling.

"Shut up." she mewed after killing the finch and picking it up. "I'm not used to hunting like this."

Winterfang nodded. "I know. It's just interesting to see how FireClan cats hunt."
