Ivorystar followed her out of the den. "Fawndapple!"
The warrior pricked her ears. "Yes?"
"Go with Mistpaw. She's going for a walk to collect herbs, and she needs someone to go with her." Fawndapple nodded, and padded over to the medicine apprentice.
"Where were you thinking of going?"

Mistpaw thought for a minute. "How about the Heather Meadow? It has plenty of herbs.." She remembered going herb collecting with Roseleaf once.

"I don't care what Ivorystar says, Musicpaw. You are still the age of an apprentice and I won't call you by a kit's name." He said with a huff. "I wanted to know if you would like to come share some prey with me. I found this huge rabbit that is too big for me to eat alone." Birdpaw said.

Sparrowsong perked his ears as he heard his name being summoned for a patrol. Quickly, he slipped inside the apprentice's den. "Mintpaw! We're on border patrol right now!" He called before padding over to join Skybreeze.

Crabpaw grumbled and slunk to Snowyspirit.

Mothpaw padded sleepily out of the apprentice den, eyes drooping and paws heavy.
Riptidepaw rolled over in his sleep and snored.

Skybreeze raced back into camp along with Stormflight, and Scorpionbite, the leftovers of the patrol. "Ivorystar!" The she-cat quickly ran over to the leader's den, panting with exhaustion.

Stormflight looked towards the entrance of camp, grief clouding his green eyes. Blood knotted up his pelt from his wounds, and he mentally insulted himself for being unable to save his clanmates. His tail lashed furiously as he padded to the entrance, sitting down by it.

Sagekit, curious, wandered over to the front of camp and suddenly saw some warriors a bit bloody and hurt. "What happened? I'll rip them to shreds whoever did this to you." She mewed quite loudly, her white fur fluffing up.

Scorpionbite nodded to Sagepaw. "Yes, Mintpaw was with us. Sagepaw, I'm sorry, but... she died. One of the rogues killed her." she meowed, pressing her muzzle to the apprentice's cheek.

Lynxcloud appeared from the warriors den with wide eyes. She rushed over to the returning patrol. "Oh, SoulClan, are some cats still at the border?" she meowed, not noticing Ivorystar.

Snowwing looked out from the nursery and her ears flattened, grief clouding her pretty features. She pushed Firekit and Gingerkit back with her tail, keeping them inside the nursery.

Stormflight looked over towards the queen and guilt dug its claws into his heart when he saw her grief. Swallowing down his guilt, he limped over, touching his nose to her ear.

Jumpkit padded over to Sagekit. "Don't worry, Ivorystar didn't mean to snap at you. This is just a stressful time for her." Jumpkit reassured his sister. "Anyways, I'm going to nap so I have energy for the ceremony and stuff." Jumpkit went to the nest and put his tail over his nose and nodded off.

Ivorystar closed her eyes for a moment, taking a breath before opening them again. "All right. Lynxcloud, we send another patrol out at midday. Any apprentices need to be accompanied by at least two warriors, and there will be no less than four warriors in the camp at a time." She looked at Stormflight and Scorpionbite. "You both need to see the medicine cat, we can't have anyone getting infected wounds."

"No, I need to go back for them!" Stormflight protested and growled when he felt Snowwing grab his scruff. The queen practically dragged him to the medicine den, growling a warning at him before she strode back to her kits.

Iceclaw snickered at the scene before she looked back to Ivorystar.

Sagekit purred at her brother, thinking about what he had said. She twitched her tail in thought before padding over to their nest, laying down. She curled up beside Jumpkit, taking a while to fall asleep, but she did so eventually.

Ivorystar made a note to thank Snowwing later, before turning to Skybreeze. "Stay and guard the camp. Lyxncloud, Iceclaw, Glaciershard, Eagleblaze, and Jasperheart!" She called out for the warriors. "You're with me."

Eagleblaze perked his ears and padded over to the patrol. His muscles rippled under his ginger pelt, ready for a fight.
