Lakemist stood there, silent, and still for a few seconds. She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath, opening quickl afterwads. "Quartzpaw, and Cherrypaw, you're coming with me," She meowed, flicking her tail, "The rest of you should get cleaned up, and I don't want to hear anything about it until Sandstar gives you your punishments!" She padded over to the leader's den, awaiting for his permission to enter. Hopefully Sandstar will know what to do.

Sandstar ran up. “Are Willowpaw and Rosepaw with you?” He asked, his voice taught with panic.

Quartzpaw nodded. “They’re just behind us,” she mewed quietly.

Bumblepaw pokes her head out of the apprentices’ den, her eyes widening at the state of the apprentices. Oh my SoulClan. I hope they’re all okay.

Sandstar’s eyes lightened. “Is this really the truth?” He said. “Otterpaw drowning?” He said, flicking an ear.

Sandstar’s eyes widened with fear and a bit of guilt.

Rainpaw chirped in. “He saved us. He fought it so we could all get away.” She added on.

Feathercloud managed to find a decent looking fish and took it by her kits so she could eat it. After then she went back to them, cleaning each one in turn. Dawnkit squirmed under her tongue, trying to protest with small mews. They’re eyes still hadn’t opened, even after a week. She purred at them and nuzzled them closer, so they could eat.

Rosepaw looked down at her paws, feeling extremely guilty. She sat in front of the medicine den, vigorously licking the scratch on her leg. She hated the way Lakemist had yelled at her. Willowpaw is just getting us all in trouble. Now we're probably going to have to clean the elders ticks for months! she thought angrily. But, she remembered how emotional her sister had turned after Otterpaw got taken, and felt her gut clench at all the thoughts swimming in her mind.

IC: “We’ve tried, all we can do is hope it’ll move out once the eggs hatch.” He said sadly. “We can’t risk losing more warriors.”

Shaderiver snorted from his spot in the sun. "What can we do? Kill it? Ottercreek died trying to and my brother got his leg shattered from just one bite," he stated sharply, green eyes narrowing. "Sending patrols to kill it or disturb the nest is a suicide mission. That thing would chomp us in half." Without saying another word, the grey and white tom got to his paws and stalked out of camp.

Darkshine flattened her ears and padded to Stormstrike and Sandstar. "Pay him no mind," she mewed, mint green eyes flickering about. She shook out her light grey and white fur, curling her tail between her legs.

"I meant something more like an official ban of going to that portion of our territory." Stormstrike mewed, nodding his head in greeting to Darkshine.

Darkshine sighed. "It's in our camp, Stormstrike. We can't just ban that," she mewed quietly, hoping Sandstar would agree.

Lakemist flicked her tail at Rosepaw. "You'll be helping out with the elder's den for the rest of the day. Make sure their bedding is cleaned out, and you can ask Peachcloud for some mousebile." She meowed, nodding the medicine cat den. "Hopefully, you'll learn your lesson to not leave camp like that again without my permission," She added in, sighing. She could have died, like Otterpaw! I need to keep a closer eye on her. The senior warrior thought silently.

Tidepaw flattened his ears, overhearing Lakemist's punishment. He hoped Darkshine wouldn't notice it, and forget about making clean out the beddings, or really anything worse. Please don't notice me! Please don't notice me! He thought, wanting to sneak off towards his nest and fall fast asleep before he got into more trouble.

Sandstar narrowed his eyes at Lakemist. “Did I not make it clear that the apprentices weren’t to be punished, and that I wanted Rosepaw in my den?” He growled.

Quartzpaw puffed her cheeks, not daring to say anything to anger the leader further.

Snowlily shook her fur out. "I-... it's okay." She leaned in to Lostblaze again, sighing a little. "Sorry."

IC: Lakemist dipped her head to Sandstar. "I was only doing my job as her mentor, but I did not know there were to be no punishments." She meowed, frowning.

Snowlily purred a little, but the noise came out slightly hitched as a strange clench in her stomach made her stumble a little.

Rubblewind watched the commotion with a shake of his head, looking around for Rainstorm, wondering if she'd like to go hunting with him.

Aquatail padded out from the Warrior’s Den, Spiritblaze following. “You should sleep in the nursery. You’d be safer there.” He said, stifling a bit. Aquatail sighed. “I guess, but I’m hungry.” She said and grabbed a small fish to share with Spiritblaze.

Lostblaze's eyes widened and he nodded, getting to his paws with some struggle. He limped quickly over to the medicine den. "Snowlily's kits are coming," he called, gritting his teeth at the pain in his leg.
