Willowpaw slunk quietly into camp, hoping nobody had told Sandstar that she was with them or what they had done.

"We need to organize today's hunting patrols." Turtlesplash called from a knot at the base of an ancient tree.

Aquatail padded up to Turtlesplash and gulped. "I-uh.. I'm expecting kits, so I won't be able to do warrior things." She said, happy that she didn't have to patrol and hunt early in the morning.

Morningleaf padded out of the warrior's den. "I can lead another." She said, half-yawning.

Turtlesplash purred a congratulations to Aquatail, then nodded to Rubblewind. "Take a few cats down to the marshes to fish, fishing's always best before sunhigh."

"I can go!" Snailnose called.

Aquatail gave a shy smile as Spiritblaze nosed her to the nursery. "I am perfectly capable of walking." Aquatail joked and trotted ahead of Spiritblaze and slipped into the nursery, easily finding a very comfortable spot that was unused.

Lostblaze growled at the medicine cats. "Are you not paying attention?!" He snapped venomously and limped to the elder's den. "Mistleleaf, help. Snowlily is giving birth!"

Snowlily winced again, staggering a little under the pain of the clenches in her stomach. "H-help," she rasped, her claws digging into the soil from the pain.

Lostblaze nearly wailed and he limped to his mate, gently helping her to her paws to get her to the nursery.

Snowlily gritted her teeth and nodded, barely able to gasp for breath. "Is it s-supposed to hurt this much?" she choked out.

Snowlily took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. "Okay. All right. I will be fine, everything will be fi-" She stumbled towards the makeshift nursery with a low sob in her throat.

Lostblaze licked her ear and helped her inside to her nest before limping out again and snarling, "Can some cat help?"

Peachcloud turned to Lostblaze with a growl. "Can't you see I'm trying to patch up someone's bleeding wound?" she spat. "Autumnsky, get your blasted butt out of your nest and go help Snowlily!" I miss Twistedleg. Why, SoulClan, why did he have to die? she thought.

Brooksnow padded into the camp with a very small fish dangling from her jaws. She pricked her ears and heard Snowlily. She gasped, dropping the fish and rushing over.

Brooksnow let out a small wail, licking Snowlily’s head. She moved aside slightly to give Lostblaze a bit more room. “Someone help, please!” She called desperately.

Autumnsky scooped up a bundle of borage and raspberry leaves, darting into the nursery. "Brooksnow, find a stick for her. Lostblaze, back up," she mewed, watching the ginger tom do as told.

Brooksnow nodded and raced off, searching near the few trees in camp. Only the best for my sister! She thought. She saw a good sized stick for her jaws, but it was very long. She growled and dragged it to the nursery anyways.

Snowlily gasped a little, the pains already making her body want to push the kits out. "It hurts too much," she whispered. "I think something is wrong."

Autumnsky frowned and set down the bundle of herbs, placing her ear against the queen's belly. She nodded after a moment and started kneading where the kit was. "One of the kits isn't sitting right, it's a fairly common thing," she mewed, trying to reassure the shecat.

Snowlily winced but relaxed slightly as the pain became a little easier to bear. "I think the first kit is coming," she managed, her stomach rippling with the effort.

Autumnsky nodded and grabbed the stick from Brooksnow, pushing it to Snowlily's jaws. "With the next pain, push."

Snowlily bit down on the stick, a small groan escaping her as she pushed. The small bundle fell softly on to the moss and ferns, taking its first breath and mewing loudly almost immediately.

Autumnsky grabbed the kit and handed her to Lostblaze with the instructions to lick her fur backwards.

Lostblaze groomed the ginger shekit's fur backwards, watching Snowlily worriedly and setting the kit by her belly when he finished.

Brooksnow gulped and watched, ready to help if needed. SoulClan, please help Snowlily! She cried silently, even though she knew her sister would most likely be fine.

Snowlily snapped the stick as she pushed the second kit out, a sigh of relief as the pain eased making her almost pass out.

Poolglow's ears pricked as the noise stopped, making her nod a little. A small litter. Good on her.

Autumnsky picked up the small, tortoiseshell shekit and groomed her fur backwards, setting her by Snowlily's belly.

Blossomkit watched from her spot in the nest, intrigued by the whole process. New kits! Wow!

Snowlily blinked her eyes wearily. "Is it over?" she managed weakly.

Autumnsky nodded and pushed the bundle of herbs to Snowlily. "Eat those. If you have trouble sleeping or there's any extra pain later on, have a warrior come get me and I'll bring some dandelion root. I'll be keeping a close eye on your kits and you for the next few days because of how early you gave birth," she mewed.

Lostblaze poked his head into the nursery and limped inside. "I'm here," he purred and sat down, looking down at the kits. "How are you feeling?"

Autumnsky smiled lightly at the little family and padded out, heading to the makeshift medicine den.
