A hollow in the side of the mountain foothills, partially sheltered by trees but not completely. The ground is sandy, but overgrown in parts with moss. A dead tree lies against the entrance.

Owlpaw flexed his claws and stretched. "Yup!" he mewed, getting himself into a powerful looking stance.

" Ok first move is the front paw blow. Its a frontal attack, you slam your front paw down hard on your enemy's head, with your claws sheathed." suntail meowed. " practice on me, but don't hit me as hard as you can, I'm not your real enemy." he added.

"Alright." Owlpaw breathed. He inhaled deeply, then brought his paw down on Suntail's face.

suntail backup as owlpaw hit him. " very good, but you need to hit the head next time, not the face, other then that you got that move great!" he meowed.

"But if I hit their face, won't that make it harder for them to see? Then I could chase 'em out, no problem." he mewed.

"ehh.. yes but... the meaning of this move is to knock them out, for a very short while, not make it harder for them to see." suntail meowed not knowing how to respond to this.

"Not if they're big though, if they have a tough skull, it'd probably just hurt." Owlpaw pointed out.

" ahh... right ok, so if your fighting a warrior, hit them in the face, if its a apprentice, hit them on the head." suntail meowed, seeing his point.

" I was getting to that, the leap and hold is very good for a small cat, taking on a larger cat. Spring onto the enemys back, now that you are out of the opponents reach, you can give them major wounds." suntail meowed

suntail roled over on his back trapping owlpaw beneath him as he did. " I forgot to tell you, beware, because a bigger cat can role over trapping you beneath them, always be ready to jump off." he meowed as he rolled off owlpaw.

"Ughhh, okay." Owlpaw muttered, dazed. He got back up to his paws, then shook the snow and sand off his pelt.

" the next move is the back kick, its fairly easy. the tricky part is judging how far away your opponent is, once you get close enough, jump up on your front paws, and kick out with your back paws, keeping all your weight on your front paws, but your power still in your kick." he meowed

"Alright." Owlpaw nodded, then practiced kicking against the dead tree. "Ow, splinter!" he hissed.

suntail walked to him quickly. " we better get you to the medicine den so that she can get that out." he advised. " it depends on what she says if we can come back out to train or not." he added

redstripe padded in leading starlingpaw in. He went over battle moves in his head, finding the best way to train her. I know! ill make her stand in the entrance, and try to keep me from getting out. he thought.

Starlingpaw walked in, taking in the smells she had smelled from training sessions before. Without thinking, she hurled herself towards Redstripe

redstripe fell, surprised. He pushed her off. " we haven't started yet silly!" he purred, and rolled onto his paws.

redstripe ran straight at starlingpaw then suddenly jumped right, and landed on her right shoulder. ill unbalance her! I can use my weight agenst her. he thought.

redstripe snarled and jumped at her again. He rapped his paws lightly around her neck, and pulled down lightly so he wouldn't hurt her.

redstripe laughed. " you should know my next move." He meowed. He then dropped down on her, crushing her lightly underneath her. " you should know to get out of there quick!" he laughed then jumped off starlingpaw, and running out the entrance.

" Ow!" Starlingpaw cried when Redstripe crushed her. She rolled around and jabbed her shoulder on a sharp rock. She smelled blood
