Fire/Frost/Bright border

This is the point where all three territories connect; it is technically a piece of ground which is mutual to all three, as otherwise Fire would have trouble defending it just so they can go to the gathering without crossing into other territories. It is only about 100m long.

Lynxfang came up to the area and stopped, his ears pricked even through the howling wind which was starting to bring biting snow. "Fennelpaw," he murmured to his apprentice, ducking into a bush and waiting for the BrightClan cats to reveal themselves to him and his apprentice.

Boulderheart pricked his ear, hearing something ahead, and bounded ahead of the young warrior.
"Wait!" Aukletwing called, trying to run towards him and being stopped by her wound reopening. Mouse-dung..

Lynxfang leaned in close to Fennelpaw. "That is Boulderheart, yes?" he asked quietly, knowing the wind would mask his voice to anyone else.

Lynxfang nodded. "Good observation. I want you to attack him. FrostClan cats are born able to fight in the nighttime, and its time that you learned how." He bared his teeth a little.

Fennelpaw felt his heart skip a beat, then slowly shuffled forward to face the deputy.

"Who's there?" Boulderheart snarled.

Fennelpaw froze, then bunched up and launched himself into the muscular deputy.

Lynxfang watched his apprentice with a cool gaze, seeing Aukletwing in the distance and deciding to get her if she became an issue. "Tuck your paws in, Fennelpaw!"

Boulderheart gave out a yowl as the heavy apprentice bowled into him and bit into his shoulder. He whipped around and struck his claws into the apprentice. Fennelpaw grit his teeth as he was flung into the earth. He rolled over and rose to his paws, looking pathetic and staring at his paws panting. Boulderheart hesitated for a moment, then got closer to him.
"Who are you?" he asked, his voice lined with confusion. Why did he give up so quickly.
The apprentice continued to look down. "I'm sorry..."
"Sorry?" the kind-hearted deputy mewed, padding forward again.
Fennelpaw lunged upward and bit into the power cat's windpipe.

Fennelpaw held on until the cat slumped over, unconscious, then slit his throat. He shivered violently then trotted back to his mentor.

"Boulderheart? Is everything alright?" Aukletwing called from a distance.

Bitternfrost followed after his deputy hesitantly, jaws held open for any scent of FrostClan. He crinkled his nose at the strong scent of BrightClan mingled in as well. As he was padding along the border, he picked up another scent, a strange scent. Blood. "Nightpelt!" he called, beckoning with his tail for the deputy to join him.

Cloverlily led her patrol into the clearing, her tail held high. "Alright, I don't want any of you splitting up. Stay with me, we don't want trouble with nearby patrols." she instructed, before flicking her tail and padding across the border into FireClan territory.

Sloeheart and Hailstreak walked behind the deputy. Hailstreak's hackles stood on end as he caught the smell of blood and the distinct, terrifying scent of death. He growled under her breath.

Cloverlily stopped dead in her tracks at the strong scent of blood. "Mouse-dung, what happened here?" she growled, picking up the scent of BrightClan a little over the border.

"I'm not sure we should-" Sloeheart started, but was cutoff as his brother moved past him and over the BrightClan border.
Hailstreak trotted towards the edge of BrightClan territory then halted as he spotted a dead cat.

Cloverlily followed Hailstreak reluctantly as the scent of death filled her lungs. She gasped at the sight of the limp body on the ground. "I-is this BrightClan's deputy?" she murmured.

Sloeheart flattened his ears in fear and sympathy. "Oh dear...who could've done this?" he mewed.
Hailstreak stared at the body, not sure whether or not to get closer to it.
OOC: What if the BrightClan patrol to retrieve it appeared right now?

IC: Cloverlily bent down and sniffed the body, catching the faint scent of FrostClan. She said nothing, just stared off into BrightClan territory. "Why haven't they retrieved his body? Do they know this happened?" she thought aloud.

Cloudstrike ran onto the territory, sniffing the air for Boulderheart's body. He picked up the scent of other cats, and snarled. He spotted the small group around the body, unsheathing his claws and padding towards them slowly. He moved closer so he was in sight. "Don't take another step onto BrightClan territory and let us deal with our own problems." he hissed flattening his ears. He moved closer.

Cloverlily bristled at the arrival of the BrightClan patrol. "Hm, I wonder why any cat wouldn't be curious as to why there's a dead body on the border?" she responded with sass. "We'll leave you to your own duties as long as you leave us to ours."

"Move along, FrostClan. You have nothing to see here. Especially when this body has your scent on it." Cloudstrike said slyly, picking up Boulderheart by the scruff. He turned around, glancing coldly behind him at Cloverlily before muffling, "One of yours killed him. I smell it."

"We did not!" Hailstreak snapped, lurching forward but not reaching the BrightClanner, hackles on end and eyes wild.
Sloeheart carefully stepped in front of his brother, getting between him and Cloudstrike.
"There's no need to fight over this." he murmured to Hailstreak.

Cloudstrike placed Boulderheart down, and turned around his long claws outstretched. "Lay a paw on me or my clanmates and I'll shred ou to pieces!" he snarled, baring his teeth.

Nightmoon quickly darted under Boulderheart's hind legs, raising the rest of his body off the ground. She shot a glance at the FrostClan patrol, then turned her head back to Cloudstrike. She waited for him to start moving.

Nightpelt quickly arrived at the intersection of the three borders right as the Brightclan patrol left. He dipped his head to Cloverlily and flicked his tail towards Brightclan terrirtory, "What's going on?" He questioned, keeping his fur flat.

Darkwillow followed after and wrinkled her nose in disgust at the dead body nearby.

Cloverlily nodded to Nightpelt in return. "Apparently somebody was killed," she replied, flexing her claws in the ground.

Bitternfrost dipped his head to the FrostClan deputy and the two warriors with her. "Do you know who killed him?" he inquired, watching the BrightClan patrol take the body away with disgust.

OOC: Leo, Sloeheart and Hailstrike were with Cloverlily on the patrol.

Cloverlily lashed her tail in response. "We're not sure. The BrightClan patrol isn't releasing any news to us." she growled.

Thornsplash flicked her tail as they arrived near the border. "Alright, we're here. So what's the plan to lure a mouse-brained Brightclan cat over?" She meowed, turning back to Redstar, but she felt a bit weird asking for orders from a different leader other than Dapplestar.

Heatherglow followed, looking around the place and watching the territories. Her pelt prickled with fear, "It feels like someones watching us here because of so many territories so close." She shuddered.

"We're supposed to lure a BrightClan cat over the border, and keep them prisoner." Redstar explained what Dapplestar had told her. Why am I stooping to this position? she suddenly realized in her head. I feel like a deputy again. "After we trap them, BrightClan will know not to mess with us again."

Lunarshine shrugged. She let her fur lie flat and bounded towards the border, scanning the slope for any BrightClan cats. "Hey, what if they escape the trap?" she asked aloud, to no one in particular.
