DuskClan Camp

Applekit groomed her chest for the thousandth time, waiting for the ceremony. "It better start soon, or I'm going to lose my mind," she muttered to herself.

Dustfeather, a queen was sitting outside the nursery with her blind daughter Treekit. She had heard some kits were being apprenticed and felt the need to be close to Treekit in case the youngster got saddened by the ceremony she wasn't in. 

Treekit curled up inside her mother's fluffy tail and yawned and then stood up and tried to nurse, but currently she was being weaned off. She frowned as she found her mother had no more milk.

As if he was awake and listening to the clan chatter about the ceremony the whole time, the russet colored leader slipped out his den and leaped up onto the high rock. He seemed smaller then usual, and a hint of his ribs showing through his pelt proved he hadn't fully recovered from the sickness just yet. However, Russetstar let out the meeting call, determined to not fail his eager clan, "All cats old enough to climb to the Outlook please gather for a meeting!"

Riverswoop perked up immediately, padding over to sit beneath the Smoothrock. Maybe I'll finally get an apprentice! he thought happily.

Nightfrost looked up and padded over with Scarletpetal, while Stormpoppy, Rainpaw, and Moonpaw padded over too.
Moonpaw sat beside Rainpaw. "How's Gingerpatch?" she asked, her tail flicking in concern.
Rainpaw didn't reply, simply sighing soberly.

Creamkit perked up and bounded over, Skykit on her heels.

Willowfeather chuckled at their eagerness and followed alongside Talongstep, her other kits next to her.

Eveningkit looked around for her mother, tail flicking.

Riverleaf sat near Morningkit, purring at Eveningkit to get her attention.

Goldkit half yowled with excitement. The ceremony! He sat up and brushed the bits of moss from his fur.

The announcement made Applekit jump up with fear and joy. Finally it's time, she thought as she said near the rest of the kits.

Scarletpetal sat next to Nightfrost, her fur brushing his, as she looked to her leader with slight surprise. He looked a bit tired and weak, but her eyes were probably fooling her.

Robinblaze padded out the elder's den and peaked out. She snorted at once, noticing it was a ceremony and padded back inside to continue her nap.

Beetlestorm, and Leafshade padded into camp, dropping there catches into the fresh-kill pile, and quickly joining the meeting.

Dovefrost padded out the nursery, her belly heavy with kits. She purred as she sat down next to her mate, Riverswoop, giving him a quick lick on the cheek.

Brambletooth, and Shrewpuddle sat together, right next to Snakewhisker.

Stormheart padded over, sitting down with the senior warriors, her eyes glinting with pride for the clan.

Spiderfang managed to drag himself out the medicine cats' den, his crippled legs giving him trouble. He lay down outside of the entrance, looking up at the highrock with admiration.

Goosepaw slipped out of the apprentice's den, sitting with a group of apprentices and quietly chatting about the ceremony, rogues, and Russetstar losing a life.

Russetstar flicked his tail, then turned his head to meet the kits' gazes. "It is my joy to see our clan thriving, even in a time like this, " He began with a purr, then continued; nodding to the kits, "And we have four kits ready to be apprentices. Step forward, Skykit, Creamkit, Applekit, and Goldkit."

Goldkit stepped forward, his coat clean and his face determined.

Skykit and Creamkit bounded forward, sitting next to their brother, Goldkit.

Applekit followed the rest of the kits a few pawsteps behind, up to Russetstar. She quickly looked behind her to make sure her fur was neatly groomed.

Hawksky watched the ceremony, eyes shining with joy to see 4 new apprentices.
Tawnysky distractedly watched the evening sky change colors as the sun set.
Dawnfire grouchily watched the ceremony, brows furrowed.

OOC: @Sky can Creampaw become a warrior named Creamtuft? Not sure if I already asked you or not haha

IC: Gingerpatch woke from her nap, just barely raising her head at the sound of a ceremony being called. She felt her heart squeeze and only now noticed that the medicine cats were gone. She sighed, her nose not feeling stuffed anymore and her throat feeling somewhat less sore.

Creampaw emerged from the medicine den, taking a seat beside Spiderfang. "How are you doing?" she whispered, feeling bad for him ever since his leg got crippled in the accident.

Nightfrost leaned in a little to Scarletpetal. "You're seeing what I'm seeing, right?" he murmured quietly so nobody else heard.

Riverswoop licked Dovefrost's ear with a small purr.

OOC: No worries, Daisy, I'll get to her after the kits. (;

IC: Spiderfang's eyes brightened as Creampaw addressed him. "I'm doing great!" He purred, then glanced down at his back, "Well, maybe not my legs."


Russetstar continued, purring down at the kits. "Skykit, Creamkit, Applekit, and Goldkit, you have all reached the age of six moons, and it is time for all of you to be apprenticed. From this day, until receiving your warrior names, you will be known as Skypaw, Creampaw, Applepaw, and Goldpaw. I ask SoulClan to watch over and guide you until you find in your paws the strength and courage of a warrior, " He meowed with pride. The russet, red tom turned to the crowd of warriors, going on with the ceremony.
"Scarletpetal you will be the mentor of Skypaw, Dragonmoon will mentor Creampaw, Adderpool will train Applepaw, and Riverswoop will become the mentor of Goldpaw. You have all shown yourselves to be fierce and brave, and I expect all of you to pass on all you know to your new apprentices," Russetstar dipped his head to the new mentors, his whiskers twitching with amusement as the new apprentices were overly-excited.

Skypaw bounded forward and touched noses with Scarletpetal, glancing over as Creampaw did the same with Dragonmoon. 

Adderpool padded forward and touched noses with Applepaw.

Riverswoop's eyes widened. Oh my stars! He stood proudly, padding over to Goldpaw and touching noses with the young apprentice.

Scarletpetal was shocked to be named a mentor, but she touched noses with her first apprentice. She was also overjoyed, wanting to be a mentor for a long time. She purred to Skypaw encouragingly, "i'll turn you into the finest and bravest warrior. But be prepared for a lot of training." She touched her tail lightly on Skypaw's shoulder before turning to Nightfrost. "You'll get to mentor an apprentice soon, i know it." She purred lovingly to him, and brushed her head under his chin.

Russetstar held his tail up, ordering for silence among the clan. "We have one last ceremony to uphold, a new warrior," He meowed, searching the crowd for the familiar pelt, "Creampaw, step forward." (@Daisy)

Goldpaw touched noses with Riverswoop, his eyes gleaming with happiness.

Dragonmoon smiled touched noses with Creampaw.

Creampaw grinned wildly. She dashed up to the front of the crowd, bouncing on her paws. I'm finally becoming a warrior! she thought, jubilant.

Russetstar's ears twitched with amusement from Creampaw's excitement. He then began the warrior ceremony, "I, Russetstar, leader of DuskClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, with the guidance of Dovefrost, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn.
Creampaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Dovefrost watched proudly as her apprentice was being made a full warrior.

Creampaw nodded, shooting a glance at Dovefrost, her old mentor, before turning back to Russetstar. "I do!" she meowed, eyes glittering.

Russetstar flicked his tail. "Then by the powers of SoulClan, I give you your warrior name. Creampaw, from this moment you will be known as Creamtuft. SoulClan honours your enthusiasm, patience, and courage, and we welcome you as a full warrior of DuskClan," The russet, red leader rested his muzzle onto the new warrior's head.

My cats cheer, shouting "Creamtuft! Creamtuft!"

Dovefrost's yowl of congratulating is heard above all, pride shining in her eyes as she dipped her head to Creamtuft.

Riverswoop and Nightfrost both called out the new warrior's name. "Creamtuft!"

Brindlekit watched from the nursery, eyes wide. That'll be me, Primrosekit, Ivorykit, and Cobaltkit soon!

Creampaw and Skypaw cheered for Creamtuft, their brother Jaypaw simply purring in congratulations.

Applepaw nervous and overwhelmed at the same time quickly touched noses with Adderpool.

Russetstar nodded to the clan. "That will be all," He meowed. With a flick of his tail, he padded back into his den, looking weaker then usual from his lost life.

Dovefrost twitched her ears. "I wonder why Russetstar didn't say anything about the sickness," She muttered to Riverswoop, thinking why Russetstar was recovering from his illness so quickly.

Riverswoop shrugged a little. "As long as you and our kits are okay and the medicine cats find a cure, it's not too much of a problem, is it?" he mewed, licking her ear. "Don't stress yourself out. SoulClan probably gave them a cure."

Dovefrost nodded, glancing down at her belly, where her kits were. I hope so. She thought to herself, afraid of the sickness spreading to her kits, and killing them once they were born.

Riverswoop licked her ear again gently. "It'll be okay," he promised softly.

Applepaw looked up at Adderfang. "What will we be doing today?" she asked shyly.

Goldpaw looked up to Riverswoop. "I know its late but can we please see the territory?" He asked.

Adderpool flicked his tail, looking down at his apprentice. "We could go see the territory," he mewed.

Dragonmoon yawned. "Do you want to explore right now or do you want to sleep?" He asked Creampaw.

Creampaw bounced slightly and waved her tail. "I want to explore with the other apprentices!" She mewed, glancing towards Skypaw, Jaypaw, and Goldpaw.

Applekit nodded, her heart fluttering. "Are we going leaving now?"

"Alright." Dragonmoon said. Creampaw's eagerness seemed to give him energy. He turned to the other mentors. "Are the rest of you going as well?" He asked.

Scarletpetal, who was standing beside her first apprentice, overhead Dragonmoon. "I might as well go too. Skypaw, make sure to stick close to me." She told the new alprentice sternly, but gave her a flick on her ear with her tail.

Skypaw nodded happily and bounded over to Creampaw, linking tails with her and purring, "We're finally apprentices."

Adderpool chuckled, "Right now. We'll go with the others." He flicked his tail against Applepaw's shoulder and lead her over to the others, Jaypaw following.

ooc: Just a note, its literally 9pm and new apprentices probably shouldn't be going out, especially with rogues around...?

OOC: That's why Dragonmoon suggested sleep

Ic: Scarletpetal suddenly yawned, "Actually, Skypaw, we'll have to explore the territory tomorrow. It is too dark outside to see. I suggest to get some rest and we'll start in the morning." She told Skypaw, and also glanced at the other apprentices and their mentors' as she spoke.

Dovefrost purred at Riverswoop's new apprentice. "Looks like you'll be having a pawful," She purred. The gray-furred shecat flicked her tail. "I better get inside, and get some rest," She meowed, her face wincing with pain, "I feel like these kits are going to claw their way out of my belly!"

ic: Riverswoop purred. "Tomorrow, Goldpaw, I promise. I might even see if we can get put on the dawn patrol, if you don't mind waking up early?" he mewed to the apprentice, amused at his enthusiasm.

"I don't mind!" Goldpaw said, his eyes gleaming with excitement.

Riverswoop nodded. "Get something to eat, and head to your new nest, then." He flicked Goldpaw's ear gently, purring.
