Jadestar padded slowly into camp, her jade green eyes glowing brightly from her experience when receiving her lives. She raised her head and rolled her shoulders back, glancing to Willowfeather as she passed and smiling shakily. She climbed the Smoothrock and stood atop it, calling out, "All cats old enough to climb to the Outlook please gather for a clan meeting!"

Gingerpatch heard the call and pricked her ears, managing to lift herself up and limp to the entrance of the medicine den, but Hollyshade stopped her. "No, no, you need to rest," the medicine cat mewed, giving her a clump of moss with water and herbs in it. "Drink this, it will make you feel much better."

My cats gather around the Smoothrock, chatting among themselves as they waited for the meeting to begin.

Jadestar watched her clan gather, worry seeping into her like a cold, Leaf-bare wind. She straightened up. "It's come to my attention that we have some kits who have reached six moons and are ready to be trained," she meowed, raising her chin. "Before this though, I have chosen the new deputies." She looked down to the cats, her eyes softening. "I say these words before SoulClan, so that the spirits of our warrior ancestors may hear and approve of my choice. The new deputy of DuskClan is Dragonmoon," she called out loudly.

Dragonmoon’s eyes widened, stiff with shock. He stood to his paws and dipped his head. “I promise to serve the clan with my life.” He promised, his voice steady.

IC: Jadestar smiled fondly at her friend and continued, "Alongside Dragonmoon, Littleflower will serve as temporary deputy until I make a complete decision."

Littleflower purred, padding from her spot by the warriors den underneath the Smoothrock. Ever since Russetstar's remaining lives were taken by the sickness, she was worried how well Jadestar would take on the role since she nor Scorpionclaw were experienced enough. She had clung on to the hope that she would still remain deputy, but knew she had to abide to Jadestar's rules now. "Thank you, Jadestar," she dipped her head to the leader. "I will continue to do my best as deputy of DuskClan."

Jadestar dipped her head to the shecat, purring, "It is only temporary but I hope you will aid me through my leadership. After all, you are still one of my most trusted." She looked back to the clan and smiled. "Treekit, Brindlekit, Cobaltkit, and Ivorykit, step forward please," she called, eyes gleaming.

Jadestar laughed lightly at the kit puffing out her chest, purring. She looked down at them all, her tail flicking as she glanced over her clan. "These kits have reached the age of six moons and are ready to receive the name of 'paw.' Cobaltkit you'll be mentored by Heathermoon. Brindlekit, I will take you as my own apprentice. Treekit will be mentored by Blizzardtuft. Finally, Ivorykit, you'll be mentored by Littleflower. From this day, until you receive your warrior names, you will be known as Cobaltpaw, Brindlepaw, Treepaw, and Ivorypaw. I ask SoulClan to watch over you and guide you until you find in your paws the strength and courage of a warrior." She leaped down from the Smoothrock and padded to Brindlepaw, touching her nose to the shecat's.

Heathermoon watched the new apprentices, not realising she was chosen as a mentor for a moment then suddenly jerking up. Right! she thought to herself, going up to Cobaltpaw. Uh... this is what I'm supposed to do? SoulClan damn it, I'm so out of it today. Focus! Awkwardly, the she-cat touched her nose to Cobaltpaw's.

Dreampaw walked gingerly through camp, avoiding most pebbles or anything else that might get in her way. She ducked past a running Lunarkit, misty eyes staring blankly out towards the direction she could hear him going. She was trying to find Rainpaw, but she couldn't pick up where he was. Shaking her head, she sighed and padded back to the apprentice den, sitting down.

Rainpaw padded up behind Dreampaw as quietly as he could manage, though the purr of excitement low in his throat gave him away as he pounced on her tail.

Brindlepaw looked up at Jadestar in awe. "U-uh..." Her tail flicked. "I don't know."

Dreampaw twitched her ears when she heard him and purred when he pounced on her tail, batting at his ears. "I was looking for you," she purred and pounced onto him as gracefully as she could manage.

Jadestar offered her apprentice a grin and flicked her tail. "How about I take you around the territory? Heathermoon and Cobaltpaw can come too if you'd like."

"Take our apprentices on a tour," Jadestar purred and stretched, looking up when she heard Dragonmoon. "Yes, thank you, Dragonmoon. Organize a few patrols as well, and see if the medicine cats need a patrol to gather herbs." She padded towards the camp exit, flicking her tail for the others to follow.

Dreampaw closed her sightless eyes and sighed. "What's Leaf-fall look like again, Rainpaw?" She meowed quietly, trying to imagine what it would be like to see it all for herself.

Rainpaw shook his pelt out a little before sitting down. "Well, its colourful. The leaves go all crinkled and old, and they fall off." He purred a little, leaning into her. "I might see if anyone needs us for a hunting patrol, my paws are itching to go."

Riverswoop padded into the nursery, the faint light from cracks in the walls making him blink to adjust a little. "Hey," he mewed, setting down the two plump rabbits he'd caught earlier. "I brought these for you. Might be the last decent meal before the snows come."

Dreampaw nodded and nuzzled the tom, taking a moment to actually find his neck fur. She curled closer to him. "Mine are too. I'm always afraid I'll mess up while hunting," she mewed.

Kindleflame looked up at the tom and purred her thanks, letting Shimmerkit bite into the plump rabbit first. "Sit down and eat with us, Riverswoop," she mewed.

Riverswoop paused for a moment, then nodded and crouched down beside Kindleflame. "Okay." He watched as Wisteriakit opened one eye, her tiny jaws parting in a yawn as she snuggled back down into the warmth of her foster mother's nest.

Kindleflame looked at the tom with soft eyes and pressed her nose to his ear. "She's with SoulClan now. You'll see her again," she meowed quietly.

Vixenlight was curled around Wisteriakit, Leafkit, and Mistykit, her blue eyes focused on Lunarkit as he padded into the nursery holding a large leaf in his jaws. "Look at you," she purred, shifting slightly to groom Wisteriakit.

Kindleflame's heart ached for the warrior and she nodded in agreement, gently grabbing his scruff and pulling him closer to groom his fur. She might've been treating him like a kit, but she didn't know how else to help besides the ways she'd learned as a mother.

Dreampaw smiled and nodded, "Yes, we would," she mewed.

Jadestar glanced back at Heathermoon and padded over, nuzzling the shecat.

Talonstep smiled lightly at the apprentice, looking at Dreampaw and tilting his head. The shecat looked distracted, which was normal, but she seemed as if she was thinking hard about something.

Dreampaw's fur prickled from the feeling of being looked at, but she just assumed it was Rainpaw. She tilted her head back and sighed.
