Plumdrop padded to the fresh-kill pile, taking a smaller hare and sitting off to the side.

Cloudedpool wrapped her tail around her paws after settling down with a songbird to eat. Her jade green eyes scanned the clearing, and she hummed, plucking the feathers then biting into the bird.

Duckpuddle laughed at Flamepaw's confusion. "Nothing a green apprentice like you needs to worry about!" he beamed, ruffling the top of his head. "Snowystar should be calling a gathering soon."

Stagshade watched Plumdrop go, hesitating then grabbing a small bird off the pile and sitting down near the warrior's den.

Cherrywind stretched at the side of the camp, sighing as she saw the sun going down. She glanced at her playing kits, then padded over to Stagshade. "Sorry to interrupt," she flushed a little when she realised he was eating.

Hawkpaw eyed his mentor talking to Cherrywind, tilting his head. He curled his tail around his paws, then looked towards Flamepaw, Cedarpaw, and Rabbitpaw. With a grumble, he trotted over to his brothers. "I wonder if we'll all be going to the gathering tonight," he meowed.

Cedarpaw looked down as his older brother came over. "Haha. Soo much fun." he mumbled, tail curling around himself. "I swear to SoulClan, if I'm the only one not going to the gathering out of us, I'm gonna sneak out with you."

"I don't want to be on dawn patrol," Hawkpaw groaned, swiping a paw over his face. He scrunched up his muzzle in distaste. "Though getting more sleep would be nice."

Rabbitpaw scoffed. "You get more sleep than all of us, scoffing like a badger," he nudged Hawkpaw and purred.

Cherrywind dipped her head, padding back to her kits.
Ryekit immediately dropped her moss ball. "Mum! Are you going to the Gathering?!"
"No, Ryekit. I have to look after you." She licked her daughter's ear, earning a rather irritated huff.

Midnightkit scoffed lightly at Ryekit. "Of course she wouldn't!" he mewed to his sister, lightly batting her on the shoulder with a paw. "I wish I could go to the gathering. What's it like?"

Cedarpaw laughed at Rabbitpaw. "He's right, Hawkpaw. Less like a hawk and more like a bear!" he snorted. "I heard that there's new leaders in FireClan and FrostClan. Wonder if they're cool or not."

"Hey, don't criticize me for enjoying my sleep!" Hawkpaw chuckled and lied down, resting his head on his paws. "FrostClan has had a new leader for awhile. Poolstar, I believe," he mewed, tail-tip twitching.

"I'm not sure about FireClan's leader. Mom said that Poolstar seems like a good leader. She was Poolshade before she became leader, and apparently got along well with dad." Hawkpaw rolled onto his back, staring at the darkening sky and yawning. He pointedly ignored the comment about his mentor always being angry.

"Yeah, but Snowystar's sick. BrightClan could be attacked!" Cedarpaw whispered excitedly, tail swishing. He grinned. "I'd give those FireClan warriors a piece of my mind! First I'd uppercut them-" he stood on his hind-paws and whipped his first paw up in the air. "Then I'd maybe, like, uhh..."

Cedarpaw pretended to choke, dramatically bringing his paws up to his throat. His head hung down to the side after a few obviously fake spasms. "Oh no! The swamp breath!!" he let out one last cough before letting his tongue loll out from his mouth, pretending to be dead.

Hawkpaw had remained laying on his back during the entire thing, rolling over only when Plumdrop approached. He blinked at his brother's mentor. "We're just having fun, Plumdrop. There's no harm in that, and I'm fairly sure Stagshade would agree," he mewed, licking his paw as he nonchalantly brought up mention of his own mentor.

Cedarpaw blushed, scrambling to stand. "S-Sorry, Plumdrop. Just horsing around with my littermates, I'll be more mature now," he mumbled, ears flattening in embarrassment. He changed the subject quickly. "Is anyone hungry? I was just about to go eat."

Hawkpaw rose to his paws, ears twitching backwards. "I was just laying down, Plumdrop. Flamepaw and Cedarpaw were only playing, and last I checked, you can't command the deputy." The ginger apprentice turned and stalked off, going to visit the kits. His tail lashed behind him.

Snowystar scrambled up the trunk of the Startree, still woozy from her sickness but trying to stay strong for her Clan's sake. "Let all cats old enough to run the moors join beneath the Startree for a Clan meeting."

Stagshade padded to the base of the Startree, settling at its root.

Petrelflight trotted to join the gathering crowd.

Flamepaw grumbled and rose to his paws, padding to join the crowd.

Hawkpaw darted to join his brothers, settling down between Flamepaw and Cedarpaw. He looked expectantly up at Snowystar, blinking slowly.

Cloudedpool settled down by her clanmates, wrapping her tail around her paws with a small purr.

"Tonight is the gathering," Snowystar called, her raspy voice washing over the clearing, "I would like Stagshade, Tawnyspots, Dovelight, Plumdrop, Duckpuddle, Cloudedpool, Snakeheart, Umberdash, Aspenpaw, Cedarpaw, Flamepaw, Hawkpaw, and Rabbitpaw to accompany me."
